  1. Mortal Kombat: Snow Blind (2022) review Pros: Action/gore is great. The fights are full fights - a problem I had with the "Battle of the realms" movie. It's nice to see Kenshi take center stage since he hasn't really had much focus outside of the games. Voice over acting is spot on. Cons: The colors are drab and lifeless in the first 1/3. I realize this is fitting for the type of story, but its a step down from the first two films. Also, the art style is a step down imo. It feels like they were trying for Avatar TLA, but didnt quite get there. Story feels like a mishmash of Mad Max, Logan(2017), and Daredevil and is very straightforward with few surprises. Kenshi is the impudent, cocky youth who suffers a setback and Sub-Zero is the reluctant old mentor. Misc: I guess part of the story is better understood if you played MK 11 and beat Arcade mode with Kano. (I havent lol) Overall: 7/10 A better flowing but straightforward story with great action from the next generation of MK characters: Its probably a solid rental or budget buy.
  2. Because nobody gives a hoot... MK Fatality Thoughts: Scorpion - Immolation (MK I 1992) My first exposure to MK was renting the SNES port with my friends in 1993. While I initially didn't like the gameplay as much as SF, I liked the secrets/fatalities, and digitized graphics. Scorpion's fatality was the first one I ever did. (Hold Block , Up, UP). It had the luck of not being censored/altered like most of the others. (I didn't even know they were changed from arcade honestly.) I think part of the greatness is the surprise that he was an undead being more than the actual burning. Also, since he only had the spear and teleport punch, that added to the surprise. When Ryu later got shinkuu hadoken as a super move, that was expected bc it was a special move already. My favorite version is actually MK2, when ignites the opponent and then there is firecracker like sound and he explodes.

  10. I really like the designs for the Maximals esp Primal. I am guardedly optimistic for this as I was Bumblebee.
  11. It is a sequel to the 2018 bumblebee film and a Beast Wars adaptation mix. Yes that is G1 Arcee. She is mostly likely a red motorcycle. Silver/Blue Porsche is mostly likely Mirage and voiced by Pete Davidson. Op Primal is voiced by Ron Perlman

  13. Spider-man's Greatest Moments: Arguably the end of the "classic" Spider-man era, this issue brings us the most popular villain outside of the Lee/Ditko/Romita era. (for good or ill) "Venom" (ASM 300) (1988) (I have this image as a refrigerator magnet.) Why is it the "end of an era"? 3 reasons. 1) Pete and MJ are recently married (It happened in at 1987 annual but in ASM chronology it was just a few issues ago. 2) Todd McFarlane's run just started in #298 and will redefine Spidey visually for the next decade. Having him draw the debut of Venom will only make this clear that this Image era is beginning. 3) IMO, the decline of story relative to art begins here in the Spider-titles. Venom spooks MJ and forces them to move to a new apt. Pete gets the sonic blaster and thinks his spidey-sense will protect him from the alien, but.. Apparently, Brock's origin is tied into the serial killer known as Sin-Eater who killed Capt. Jean DeWolff and others. He reported that Emil Gregg was the murderer, but as the story showed, Gregg was a disturbed man who only thought he was sin-Eater. When spidey/DD revealed that the real killer was Stan Carter, Brock was fired and forced to write about celebrity" drivel. Brock decided to commit suicide in the Lady of Saints church when suddenly... Brock webs Spidey to a bell clapper intending to squash him, but Spidey ingeniously gets him to use up all his webbing that is generated by the symbiote. After dropping off Venom at FF HQ, MJ and Pete decide that the black costume is not the side he wishes to show the world and so...
