That's been obvious for sometime. A lot of debates happen because of this. The initial Ryu and Sagat battle. Hell, Ryu's had three different hair colors.

I guess I had a different interpretation of his gem. It seemed to be his "battery", what powered his reanimation. I looked at it like Goku "having a day of life" in the Buu arc and going Super Saiyan 3 burned though his time faster than the 24 hours he'd have otherwise. After giving it more thought, I could see that would give him the an additional ability to absorb ki. Although I can't rationalize that have anything to do with his speed. There is no way an Alpha era Nash defeats a Bison without having that level of speed. Even prior to anything shown in SFV, Nash was one of the most overlooked fighters in terms of ability in Street Fighter. If we were to use a tier list style metric. Most people seemed to have him at "B" level. He's not "S" Tier but I think he's" A+" or at worst an "A"

That's what the narrative says. You can say they retconned it but according the story in SFV,  Nash is at the same level he was when he died. Despite being an established character, Nash is a bit of blank slate. They kept filling his details over time. He didn't start off as the previous All American Martial Arts champion that taught Guile the Sonic Boom and Somersault/Flash Kick. He was just Guile's friend that was killed by Bison. According to things as they are now, Nash has always had a significant edge over Guile. It's the reason he throws Sonic Boom's with only one hand. Similar to how Gouken only needs one hand to throw Hadokens. It's way to visually convey a difference in strength. They add new abilities/retcon characters all the time. Bison being the biggest example of that. Capcom, to their credit, will incorporate ideas from other sources. Bison's teleporting wasn't a thing but they took that aspect from SF2:TAM. We knew he couldn't do that before but according to the games narrative he always had that ability. The same is apparently true for Nash.

Random thought, but just to add, Urien is indeed supposed to be very powerful character (i have kinda specific idea how much, but would trigger debate lol) and beside show how much Rashid is willing to risk to help others, dimostrated a lot how good character he is with the simple action he did: does'nt try to challenge Urien or confront him like a fighter would do, he focus with whole body on stop Urien's arm and try to reason with him like  a normal person would do, like "c'mon dude, he's down you already won"

Btw what crack me up of that scene is Urien knowing Rashid is some kind of rich af arabian prince (even having with him his own bodyguard/servant) and still he's like "don't touch me commoner" and thinks would be ok just wreck him and his butler even if they just "hired" them lol
And Kolin being like "Lord Urien please don't kill these people" and him being like "eh whatever"

in ASF they did Urien better with a single scene than many other characters(poor Necalli) that had much more screen time... and his Story Mode was pretty good portrait too

I don't have problems with light heart anime nonsense here and there neither, my problem was that SFV seem unable to realize where should be better don't be like that

Like i'm fine if for some reason we need pink ninjas and bizzarre robots chasing each others in silly way, but maybe the fucking Final Boss room is'nt the place to do it

Like again why the fuck Shadaloo army was made of bright azure comical douchebags, instead offer some thratening vibes
It's like they tried make it like Metal Slug enemy army (who still wear a more serious color scheme btw), but it does it worse and SF is'nt supposed to have same vibes where the satyrical touch is used with much more finesse to make fun of war nonsense

In comparision SF just come of as stupid tbh

Forgot that Akuma is the reason we got Pregnant Necalli. Is Akuma letting Ryu live constantly in hopes that Ryu surpasses him?

There are a lot of high tier SF characters that he could be trying to fight but he doesn't seek them out. Akuma got it bad for Ryu but he won't admit it to himself. 🥰

A couple of things to say here, Blanka is a fairly handsome creature, now his select screen in SF2 was atrocious. Dhalsim is the cutest thing ever idk why Capcom made him out to be ugly, literally adorable. Poison does not need a beard bc her booty makes up for everything. Falke needs to get beaten with that staff of hers, literally a deplorable character. I no longer have a problem with Wide Ryu, but I do have a problem with his beard and those sandals he clearly stole from Akuma. Next thing you know he's no longer homeless and has a child on the way. This bearded menace needs to be stopped immediately, his Satsui no Hado is clearly taking over. Seth is a bad bitch, end of story.

Think the problem with Akuma is that he doesn't have a story. Akuma has spent more time being an alternate route in Ryu's story than an actual character. He comes in, lusts after Ryu, gets bodied and goes away.

I think Akuma is an allegory for Capcom's latent homosexual attraction to Ryu. Because he doesn't do anything outside of that. He interacts with people but its similar to the MK vs SF movie comparisons: there isn't really a good baseline for what this character's deal actually is.

EDIT- Interesting fact, the next time all of the conditions for a Twosday will align in the same way is in the year 2422, 400 years from now. You and I will both be dead... BUT BISON WILL STILL BE ALIVE! A-MAZING!

Well a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. What I mean is, while G certainly has the potential in our combined headcanon to be this remarkable new villain once the veil has been lifted - there is no guarantee that Capcom won't fuck it up (See Necalli in general and Bison's final boss fight in SF5). Still I find the Alphabet Company to be more interesting potential villains than the Illuminati at this stage who are just Shadaloo wannabes with a religious twist.

I'm fine with this argument if you were to actually take a step back and realize they pretty much turned EVERY character into a parody of themselves, especially of the versions presented in SF2AM.

A new game and new era with new direction is the perfect opportunity to reset the tone and presentation of a character if there is a will and proper creative vision behind it (and good writers/VAs!).

"Waiting" is not going to change anything, we will know from the first few reveals what is the tone of game, and if it is closer to SF2AM or not in terms of the balance of grit and cartoon. So far, this looks more gritty so maybe everything else including the dialogue is darker and we can get lines like the one you just quoted.

You won't find disagreement from me about anything related to SF2AM btw. That movie is like the holy bible for SF fans. But I also would like to highlight SF2AM's final scene is a peak Bison moment - the truck. Because it actually captures the horror aspect of the villain, he always comes back. Even in the Live Action movie, Raul Julia's Bison is revealed to have survived at the end and planning his revenge. This eternal nature of his evil has been in the fabric of the character from the beginning, before Alpha and SF4. The method of his return from the dark, mysterious, to the more sci-fi and weird is up for grabs based on the tone of the tale. The same goes for his "plans".

While SF5 did have a more cartoony presentation, who's to say that that is not SF. Is the 60s Batman TV series with Adam West any less Batman than the Dark Knight or the 90s Cartoon series? Is Joaquin's Joker any less or more of a Joker than Ledger's? Hamill? Nicholson? (We won't talk about Leto). My point being is that they are all authentic.

My issue with SF5's ASF is just how anti-climactic it was after the way they hyped and individually released it, with Necalli being a dud, Ryu being MIA, Chun-Li being sidelined hard, and Bison coming off as a wizard sometimes rather than a cold blooded fighter who just sent half the world to limbo. There was plenty of opportunity for iconic fights and dialogue, more style and substance, they didn't even have to invent it, they could've cannibalized their own media and repackaged it for the mainstream - but alas it was what it was. A noble attempt that still fell short.

Taking it back to SF6, I've been trying to find the Daigo Ikeno sketches of Future Bison. I know there are two in existence but I only found one:

Gimme dat unrestraint will to power!!!!

Considering they're greek (or anyway somewhere in mediterranean area) the tan as original skin colour could have been good base for both brothers

But apparently -at least in the picture we got- Gill used to be much more pale... but tbh it can work given they dropped also a book on his hand

may be nice way to show probably Urien was much more active kid passing lot time outside under the sun, while Gill was more a scholar type of kid

I can buy it, after all as italian in winter i'm just as pale as Gill in this pic and in summer i'm darker than Urien color there... mediterranean skin is just like that lol
