  1. @GetTheTables right on, we’ll give it a shot. I’ll invite Tubb to the lounge if he’s available. i also need time to lab. I’ve barely played SFV this year as well.
  2. Sounds good! Generally speaking, the connection be fine, but we’d get hiccups like 10% of the time, right? Did we ever try with the new netcode from the beginning of this horrible year? I’m sure we did, i just don't remember the results (I’m sure they were awful lol)
  3. Isnt it like midnight there? Goodnight @Skort!
  4. Took a break from work to try SFV and the netcode felt great. I played 3 casual sets, all 4 bars, and didn’t experience any lag at any point. I found all of the opponents in like 2 minutes on average, searching for PS4 only, 4-5 bar connections. One person seemed to be very local based on their flag and dojo, but one dude had a Vietnamese flag and it felt great (of course, they may not be in Vietnam). Every match was on The Grid, which helps, but yeah, the game felt perfectly fine... i could have just gotten lucky though. @KingTubb are you up for some matches tonight? Like maybe around 8 or shortly after? Im curious to try with you especially because of how shit our connection was last time we tried.
  5. Yes, and they unlock more stuff now. They added options to earn random skins, gear, and animations (brutalities, taunts, etc) from beating some of the ladders.
  6. @KingTubba good thing about Kollectir is a lot of cosmetic stuff to unlock looks similar to his default stuff, so you may avoid the need to grind for bullshit
  7. I don’t know man. Doom is about one man killing demons on Mars, Earth, or Hell itself... pretty simple right? Have you seen those fucking movies?
  8. No, I think Dan (the first release) is coming in December?
  9. Kollector is cool and definitely a character I keep meaning to try. In my top 5 of interest for sure. He has good long ranged attacks and a lot of his combos don’t juggle (which means people can’t do a Breakaway from them). Noob is great, but if I recall, he doesn’t have too many good mid combo starters, only highs, which whiff on crouching opponents that aren’t blocking. You can “jail” people, by hitting them with a D1 (or maybe it’s a D3 for Noob) which if hit, gets them to stand for like 12 frames, so you can hit them with a high, but they can still block it, despite you have frame advantage... This game has a weird thing where you can’t link attack into combos, even if you have the advantage. Every combo is through the pre-determined strings or juggles. Sheeva looks fun, but I don’t know much about her to be honest. Just that her teleport stomp is strong (much like Honda’s butt slam). Jacqui is fun. She’s probably the best character in the game and has good speed and mobility. She is typically more of a rushdown/pressure character.
  10. I really gotta go and start working now, but I read up about the SFV netcode patch on reddit and Altimor said the changes should be good (if implemented well, which is always the question regarding capcom). one person did say they’re seeing less jitters and dropped inputs, but they could also just have had better connections this morning. and with that, I’m off for a few hours.
  11. Yeah, there are too many cut scenes in the game, though I do prefer how krushing blows were done in this because they’re fairly quick (the implementation / balance is another thing though), and yeah, I’ve really come to despise fatalities. The supers (fatal blows) take too long too. It does. A lot of back, forward inputs, or down, forwards (without having to hit the diagonal). to be honest, it feels pretty good on hitbox when you’re used to it. There are times when I miss doing shoryuken inputs though.
  12. What didn’t you like about MK11? I know part of it was who you were playing with, but were there things about the game you didn’t like?
  13. @KingTubbI’m just hoping to you like the game though. They are certainly faults to it for players who just want to hop online like you, such as a terrible grindy system for cosmetics, and the default variations aren’t the tournament ones (which is all kinds of stupid), and then once you get past that hurdle, you still have to enjoy the game.
  14. I mean they did. I’m not sure if the reason for the netcode being worse for me was the one sided rollback aspect of it, or other changes of that patch (i should probably revise that), but the newer netcode was worse for me. And i’m not sure what you’re implying. My internet isn’t great, but i know i would often get the one-side/brunt of it before (my connection would have rollbacks while my opponent’s is smoother), which from all that i’ve read on SFV’s old netcode, is because my connection was better. if capcom stopped one-sided rollback, the stronger connection wouldn’t be able to assist, and you’d have to wait for the slower connection to catch up. This would effect both players. also, it’s possible that while they’re allowing one-sided rollback if it really needs it, they have better control of it now than they did originally, and rollbacks can be shared more equally between the two players, but it would be a lot less jittery (or have less slow downs) than it did in the last patch... I should note that i preferred one sided rollback and having the match flow, over it slowing down and lagging all over the place. anyways, i’m just looking forward to trying this out. There are aspects of the game i don't like, but the new netcode was the #1 issue of why i dropped it
  15. So in the SFV update last night, it seems like they made some netcode adjustments. It seems like they reverted some things back to how it was (which i don't mind because the new netcode has been worse for me), while doing some other improvements. I’m hoping reverting the ping check to an 8 second average will help for finding matches, as sometimes it took me much longer to find a match than it used to I especially like the last line about reducing load, which IMO, is one of the biggest problems, but we don’t really know by how much or what this means. https://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/systemfault/133085?lang=en Edit to add WydD’s opinion:
  16. I love playing my bass guitar to hip-hip/R&B and this is one of my favourite songs to play. Pino Palladino and Questlove lock in so well together
  17. Oh for sure. It was a good back and forth. I really like playing sets like that as it really points out your weaknesses, but I especially love how the battles change as we play. Yeah, i’m bad with that in any fighting game tbh. That was one thing i liked about Cammy in SFV, she forced me to just walk forward. I do meed to do that more, but you were getting good a blocking my strings or baiting me for punishes that i was getting comfortable back there, haha, but i do just need to get better at varying my rushdown/neutral. Yeah... I guess it works a lot better in FT2’s in Kombat League 🤣. It got you a few times, but I started realizing that if I went ahead with my typical combo, and you did breakaway, you’d usually wake up while I was whiffing and get a full combo punish on me, so going for the setup was a safer option even if you didn’t breakaway. One thing i think you realized, is if you breakaway after my square wave (ass move) , and I amplify it, I’m fucked. You get a guaranteed full combo on me. Absolutely! We’ll only get better and have mire fun sets going forward 👍. One thing I’d like to see is them show or score in between matches. I know we’re playing for fun, but i think there’s be a little extra motivatiom if we saw who was winning and by how much. Absolutely. I’m done with SFV. The netcode, for me, has been terrible since the patch they did at the beginning of the year. I’ve only been online 6 different days since, but it’s only been decent (like what it was before) for 2 of those days. Another 2 of the days i couldn't find matches in under 20 minutes. KingTubb and I have been playing a lot of different games lately (from fighting games, to Tony hawk, to fall Guys, etc) and have always had a perfect connection, even in Tekken (for the most part). We tried SFV once and it was completely unplayable.
  18. ... I have a feeling i’m going to regret admitting that... fuck it, i already regret it 😆
  19. Never seen her until now, but yeah, she actually looks kind of similar.
  20. Yeah, there’s quite a few defense options i don't bother with because it’s too much to keep track of. Until today, i never understood the benefit of resetting your opponent and keeping them standing, because i kept wishing you’d knock me down so i would get my pick of wakeup options to try and stop you, but you’d rarely knock me down, lol. also, Cassie has some good mixup combos eh? I kept getting fucked by your two combos that overhead on the second hit.
  21. GGs @GetTheTables, when we started, i thought we may have finally found a game i can beat you in, but then you proved me wrong 🤣 it was fun though! And definitely solidified that i meed ro work on my neutral/options. Also, my defence needs work lol. Your Cassie’s good!
