If you don't buy Aftermath, while you don’t get the Aftermatch story mode expansion, you also don’t get Fujin, Sheeva, and Robocop as playable characters. You also miss out on three skin packs. The characters you can buy individually, but you cannot buy the skins individually. i’ll try to find some info for the skin packs so you can see them to see if that influences your decision and will edit this post when i do. As i’ve mentioned before, a lot of the default designs in this game are ass (imo). You usually get one of the better skins by doing a character’s tutorial (which only takes a few minutes), but apart from that, they’re going to push you into grinding single player things or buying DLC skins if you care about cosmetics. also, you unlocked skins and things by completing the story modes (both of the them). Also, you need to beat chapter 4 of the first story to unlock Frost. Aftermath Skin packs:

I’ve always loved Sticky’s verse at the end of this track. For some reason, it’s one of my favourites. I love his energy.

I haven’t labbed them yet but found a few great vids on it. Thanks! also, yeah, the NRS scene seems to be filled with a lot more teenagers and such than a lot of other fighters, but I mute the mic’s so I don’t know for sure lol

Did you compare your win-ratio/games played? also, I’ve only played in two seasons, but in my experience, when you start (like the first couple days of the new season) seems to matter a lot in regards to the calibur of players you’re matched against

Lol, i agree with you, but for different reasons. From what we’ve seen from Mileena in 11, i don't think she looks good. Her costume and hair seems off. It doesn’t seem to suit her and she also doesn't look polished enough (hopefully that gets fixed in the next month). funny enough, the only thing I like is that her classic mouth returned.

Also, i bought Duke Nukem 3D World Tour on the Switch yesterday (it’s 50% off right now) and holy hell did i miss that game. The port is really, really nice, and i like the rendered graphics option. I had to mess around with the controls a bit, but it feels good now. My only complaint, and i’m not sure if it’s the game or the pro controller, but the deadzone on the right stick is terrible. I like a very high sensitivity on controller and it’s almost impossible to fine-tune your aim to hit some of the switches you need to shoot at a distance with your pistol. You almost need to lower the sensitivity just for those parts. it really did make want to boot up Build.exe again though and have some fun. I’m going to look into getting this on my laptop, because i think i’d enjoy it more on it, even if build wont work with this version (it may, i dont know yet).

Last night/this morning, I realized a couple things: 1) Playing online randoms in this game really makes me salty. Everyone seems so intent on teabagging and getting scrubby wins just to fatality you. That said, I’m still going to play KL if there are certain rewards I really want (like that Sindel skin next season, and the Scorpion/Reptile skin in the one after). Also, I’ll keep a tournament variation to play you guys, if that’s what we’re playing, but I will lab a custom one too. 2) While i love Kitana as a character, I find my approach with her is very limited and I’m always doing the same thing. This stems from having a hard time against zoners with her, so i’m always rushing in to reduce that risk. i’m going to start learning Avalanche Sub-Zero for my tournament variation. I think it has good tools to do some dirty stuff, his up-close game is a bit more threatening with his mix, and I think he’s safer from a distance with his ice ball and slide that goes under most projectiles. His F4 is awesome too and he has some of the fastest attacks in the game. I didn’t like any of his launch variations, but Avalanche is definitely something I’d be happy to use. I’m also going to mess around with a custom variation Sindel. I really like her in this game (more than Kitana or Sub tbh), but i really don't like her tournament variations.

My experience (on a PS4) before the netcode patch at the beginning of this year was just like how you described. However, since the patch dropped, I’ve had this happen on two different nights out of the six nights I’ve played, and it’s been very inconsistent - most of the time it doesn’t run that well, but I did have one night where it ran just like it did pre-patch and I was excited, but then it was terrible the next night I played... I should clarify, it was good against Flack0 but we live close to each other and it was terrible against KingTubb, where there’s a decent US to Canada distance but every other game that we play runs fine, so it does seem like an SFV issue. tbh, I’d be real happy if they reverted it back to the old netcode. I still got matches quickly and at least 90% were fine. I don’t know what the hell’s different now, but it runs bad for me. You know, my internet isn’t great... it is good enough to play fighting games, but there could be something with how Capcom tests connections that puts me at a low bar rating that filters me out of people’s searches, despite it being able to run MK11 perfectly. Then again, it still runs poorly in-game, but maybe this is making it harder to find matches to begin with.

I need Cipher to come over to my house and kick me in the nuts for playing SFV... I was labbing a couple different characters and sat in training looking for a 4-5 bar casual match for like an hour and it didn’t find anything. Not one. i thought maybe my Internet was acting up (and maybe I was showing up as one bar connections, to which everyone else filtered out or declined), but after I gave up, I went to MK11 to lab some stuff and decided to play online and found three sets, basically immediately, all of which played perfectly. I can’t with SFV anymore, but I know my stupid ass will boot it up again in two months. still, I do have issues with MK11, and sometimes I wonder if I really like it, or if I’m forcing myself to like it (because of nostalgia and a great netcode with a large playerbase).

@GetTheTables lol, 90% of the time I get hyped to play it is because of Highland’s videos, and pretty much every time I get that way, I want to finally get respectable with Sagat.
