    Words cannot described how bewildered I was when I first played DBFZ vs Dayaan and it wasn't like, "Just press a button to open your friend list or insert player name" to invite.
     
    This is absolutely ridiculous. Straight up. Imagine running online tournaments in this kind of setting.

    If you’re talking about that near full screen attack, that’s not a throw and super punishable if you jump over it.

    One thing I remember seeing in the menus was I think player match? That will be a godsend for moments like this.
     
    The parks are awesome for long-form casual play but having to be like "meet me by the bridge, I'll wear a red carnation and the code phrase is 'Heavy Day'" when you want to play someone specific is still dumb.

    Unfortunately I am both slightly drunk (not necessarily a problem) and I have something else I need to do for an hour or two before bed (bigger problem).

    God damn it. I got gatekept out of Heaven. It’s a whole another world up there.

    I think its like 7 frames on wake up? Or maybe I'm thinking of another GG. Regardless there is almost always throw invulnerability on wake up so if you want to pressure you don't want to do it with raw throw. Learned that the hard way.
     
    Be thankful it isn't the instant throws of +R I guess.  I actually realized during the Strive beta that I was playing around instant wake up throws and when I remembered that isn't an option I was all like

    I don’t care too much now, because it may change, but I am curious how much throw invulnerability there is on your wakeup and after block stub. There definitely is on former, not 100% on the latter, but it seems like it

    I agree with @Mattatsuabout the 2H shenanigans.
     
    Xrd Ky's 3H makes me wanna vomit every time I see it.

    3 guesses as for whether or not you can jump cancel it on hit.

    Yeah, you’re definitely right about it being different by design, and the damage being tailored to still have quick matches... I guess my issue with 2H Launchers is kinda like, well, what’s the point of them? I’m sure a lot of characters can follow-up with something (Millia can follow-up with 214P), but my favourite part about anime/MVC type games are the air combos. It just seems weird to have a fairly consistent launcher button that cannot be cancelled into a jump... Maybe it’s just the nostalgia of other games (MVC2, MVCI, GG Rev2, etc) but yeah, it just feels weird not to have it when the opponent does get launched (by most of the cast anyway).
     
    and yeah, you’re right. I know the game will be different and this is likely a “test the waters” period.
     
    and the game is definitely fun. I love it. I think the 2H launcher is my only “why can’t this be like how it used to be” issue, and I am concerned about how they will balance the game over time. I just hope they prioritize buffs over nerfs.
     
    Also (and you didn’t mention it), but I did edit my comment about air-blocking 6Ps. That was a concern because I was worried Dayaan was going to 3S jump-in parry my AAs again, but I labbed it out and there’s enough push-back on block (with the grounded character being plus enough) that it’s not a concern, so I edited that out.
