I'm not familiar with events, when is most likely we will know the S2 characters list?

    Fuck if I know tbh

My personal guesses for potential season 2 character announcements are:

    - sometime in May during a State of Play presentation by Sony

    - early June during the Geoff Keighley "Summer of Gaming" presentation or one of the publisher shows (Sony, Xbox, Capcom)

    - mid July on the Evo 2024 finals day as a surprise before top-6 kicks off

There aren't really any other big events in the near future and I don't think Capcom would want to drop news as big as season 2 character roster (teasers) in a comic con panel, usually they just show character trailers there like when they revealed Ken for both SFV and SF6

Maybe Akuma will only bring main cast/Season1 characters changes, and any mayor system change will eventually start with S2 bunch of months from now?

The first offline CPT major is in July with EVO VEGAS, plus there will likely be online tourneys prior. They're not gonna wait 2 months and make system mechanic adjustments on the eve of world's largest fgc event and a season opener, that's just madness. Plus they're clearly hellbent on not patching the game once the pro tour itself begins.

So if the end of may update doesn't do anything else except drive reversal - enjoy another year of throw looping and mountain dew rushing

G is bizzarre af situation for me... i like a lot the charisma and lore of the char, like would really love see his story pushed forward... but at same time i can't bring myself to give fucks about his fight style or him becoming playable lol

I don't really like a lot of SFV newcomers

We got Ed, Luke, and Rashid back already

Zeku function is covered by Kim

Laura function is covered by Manon

Abigail can burn in hell and I don't even want to imagine how that monstrosity would look in re engine

Lucia was more of a fanservice pick for final fight nostalgia

    Falke is wack

FANG is replaced by Aki now

Menat would  be welcome but they'll probably space away the feet waifus by a few seasons

Kolin is kinda wack but maybe she can be considerably redesigned for 6

Akira is a guest and I'd like for more SF characters to return first

So that just leaves us with G as the wildcard

  4. Nah I agree, the whole "I summon shadow clones to dive kick your ass" could be a shorter level 3. And just keep the raging Demon as is. Like the whole point is you don't know WHAT Akuma does to the opponent - is it summoning something? Striking with lightning speed? Cloning himself? Using a pressure point that makes your blood vessels explode all over?

And now it's just... Oh I guess he kicks you bunch of times

Nerf Vism in Alpha 3 and then maybe it's considered the GOAT SF. It has a superior roster and is better balanced.

You can't just nerf v-ism. It'd either have to become even shorter duration wise or make combos scale so much it's not even worth using, at which point you might as well remove the mechanic entirely.

Alpha 3 becomes a better game when players straight up don't use it and pick the other two isms

That would help but some of the characters in that game are just BAD bad.

Even the likes of Twelve and Necro can cook given the opportunity

Pierrot is one of the best Remy players around

Alex won a coop cup a few years ago (granted it's a tram tournament but he was going up against a Ken)

Elena doesn't have a ton of representation I'll give you that

It all just gets filtered out by Yun's geneijin spam, how much damage Chun legs gets off one hit confirm, and the scaling on Ken's jinrai

The PS4 (and XSX) version of the game look a lot different than the current gen ones.  I play on PS5 at 1080p on a 10 foot screen and don't notice any jaggies or blurriness.  It looks fantastic.

I was talking about the PS4 version. It just looks bad graphically. The current gen build naturally runs and looks well

can't believe how bad SF5 has aged.  It just looks so bad and like it is in a beta form in all aspects - graphics, sounds, UI, etc.

Unpopular opinion but 6 isn't doing much better visually. I generally like the overall presentation, sound effects, the graffiti splashes when drive impact hits, and how the cutscenes transform the game during level 3/criticals, and obviously the character models have an insane amount of detail

But then you look at the matches or even still screenshots and it's like a late PS3 game - poor shadowing, bland color gamut on most stages, weird lighting solution where you have both the stage sources and like a spotlight above which makes characters shiny, it's so strange to me

I'm not gonna let go of the theory that releasing SF6 on PS4 caused Capcom to hold back significantly so that console can maintain 60fps - the demo alone was really rough with very visible jaggies and blurriness

I predict in a few years there will be a major re-release that cuts off PS4 support, because I just don't see them sticking with it until like 2029 or whenever the next street fighter is supposed to launch. I'm assuming at least 5 years of support for 6

  9. Sega made two grave mistakes - remained stubborn in prioritising the opinion of their Japanese headquarters even in the middle of an ongoing war, and lost countless millions of dollars on useless garbage like the mega drive tower of power

No wonder Moore jumped ship to Xbox almost immediately, the Dreamcast was doomed the moment 2000-2001 hit and Sony had a grip on megaton titles like FF and MGS2 while Microsoft revolutionised console FPS and brought online gaming to home systems. Meanwhile all Sega could do was hapharazdly port their original IPs from one dying platform (arcades) to another, and the billion dollar production in form of Shenmue 2 wouldn't move the needle enough, not to mention just how strong the third party relationships PS2 had were with seemingly entire industry releasing platform exclusives

When GTA3 skipped Dreamcast altogether it was GGs

PS1 Xmen vs Street Fighter frame drops are legendary. The game would really begin to chug when two Juggernauts played.

Kinda funny how PSone was chuck full of various 3d titles but would have slowdown in a sprite based 2d fighting game of all things
