  1. I bought Tekken 7 during the summer sale and played already a grand total of 40 minutes of it.

I doubt I will ever get into it, but if I wanted to become at least a beginner where should I start? The blasted thing doesn't even have a tutorial

  2. I've never badmouthed this game.

But I realized something: if it was not for the numbers on Steam I'd never play it.

I'm not saying SF is a bad game, but of the games out right now I do believe is the least fun to play of current options.

I went to a weekly in Taipei last Thursday, played with a few people pre tournament, then tournament started. But there was setup with BBtag and I could only think of playing that.

And now I found a place where I can go daily where I can play, and I am learning KoF because they play that and SFV. And I really don't wanna play SFV.

I would like to play anime ofc. But that ain't happening so...

Edit: in this reflection I am not taking in consideration NRS games, I don't know if they're any fun nor do I care. So I suppose that means I'd pick SFV over those.

  3. I know most of the KoF basics and characters since I used to play it as a child. The 4 jumps and their counters and rolling are things I am familiar with. As well as the cast, I actually know I'm gonna play Angel for the unchained system and Mai. I am unsure on the 3rd but Blue mary might to it, if not Kyo. I was a huge Terry fan but his stuff is poorly done in XIV (his climax looks terrible and where are my 3 ground pounds for level 2 Power Geyser?) But Rock looks nice.

I suppose I just have to work on combos?

  4. Today instead I went to the place they told in my town, they played SF and KoF, I asked if they had any anime player, no one was. So I reluctantly played this guy in SFV because I never played KoFXIV since is kinda dead on PC.

This guy plays Cammy and runs a train on me. We ended 13-2 before this Ibuki player came in and took the Cammy guy place, a much easier opponent.

Spend an hour or so at the place, take a picture with the owner (the Cammy guy), he adds me to Facebook, I and go back home.

Now if there is something I realized in these 2 experiences at taiwanese locals is that I don't wanna play SF, I'd like to play anime but if no one does, I'll go for KoF.

So I get home, check facebook to get the picture from the guy, and it turns out is ZJZ gxbridget.

    All this to say what

I need any possible resource to get into KoFXIV, I am motivated to learn the game, practice at home and then go there and be taught by these people

TL;DR I needs me KoF guides and stuff for general learning because I wanna play with Evo Japan winner dude and his posse

Goddammit man I already don't have enough time to keep up with all the games I've bought and you want me to buy one more?

If it CF or whatever the "final" version of it is goes on sale again on PSN I may pick it up. I always bounced off the BB games but maybe I could find a char to get me stuck in this time.

LP Bolt is -2 on block, +2 on hit. Similar to the chair situation though I have no clue what the actual #s are; just seems to be + enough that Kanji can still pressure after. However he has a harder lot in life than she does in this game due to the increased mobility and universal DP system.

The thing with Bullet and Yang is that they feel similarly designed from an aesthetic and gimmick standpoint to me (exploded fire big boobie lady), but that is probably just coincidence and the big boobs.

I think they could make any character work in this system with enough fudging of mechanics. Biggest knock against Bullet or anyone else at this point is that the DLC leaks seem to be all but officially confirmed so anyone not in that list isn't coming until they do another round. If they do though I'll be pulling for Bullet as well (giggity).

Also weeb marvel made it to page 2. 🎆

I'm super sick right now and I get very confused I thought you were talking on block, you clearly were not.

That's true but that is also sort of the usual tier list stuff. Its like saying that Jin does xyz better. On the general scale Hakumen seems pretty good, if not in that upper crust.

Managed to finally get some time to just sit and dick around with the game yesterday. Its fun to mess around with combos, of course, and I kind of dig how they have the training mode menus set up. Its not what I'm used to (which at this point is mostly SFV with some UNIEL training time) but it has all the functions I've wanted when I've gone to look for them, usually easily accessible.

At first I thought Es/Kanji didn't really work together as a pair but I think generally they'd be fine. For Kanji I've been testing Chair on hit. It seems to work like Laura's LP Bolt in that it leaves him in front of the opponent on +frames (I'm not sure how much but it seems to be enough for even his slow ass normal to CH if they mash on response). Maybe my testing was fucked up but if I'm right that is pretty neat.

Also messed around with some new chars, only superficially though. Yang seems pretty rad and is also a pretty compelling argument as to why you may not get Bullet in this game; they're not the exact same, but they're certainly design cousins. Tried out Hakumen as well though I've always liked the idea of that character more than actually playing him. Might be different in this game.

    Laura's LP bolt is -2

    Yang is nothing like Bullet

One's a rushdown the other is a grappler

The reason Bullet ain't gonna make it is because I don't see how they can implement her drive in a BBtag

Question for those who played random survivor. How do you obtain the silver color costumes after beating your opponent? I beaten silver Kolin, Urien, Nash, and Necalli, but when I go to see if they have those colors it's not selectable. I'm guessing I gotta go to the shop and buy the colors there?

    you win them from lewtbuxxes

  8. I couldn't escape the crossing fate, and oh my god I love this game.

I'm a changed man, I enjoy an assist fighter now.

I'd be happier if Jubei wasn't ass, or at least ass in combination with Orie, but I suppose Es will do until new DLC characters are introduced.

I'm quite sure my poor Bullet has no chance of being in because I don't see her drive being implemented in the game in a realistic way.

I'm super interested in trying Yuzuriha from UNIEL and Mitsuru from P4A, they look very cool.

  9. Still haven't bought it, besides the lack of Bullet, I am afraid spending 60 bucks on a game that I might not be able to play down the line on PC because the player base disappeared.

Also the Roster didn't seem to have 2 characters that I am interested in.\

But I've seen Orie now and I'm leaning towards forking out the money.
