I beginning to really hate the start up 1 frame slow down that DR creates. I don’t like that I can predict when someone is about to DR but the game makes me stick the ground. This is especially egregious for characters like Marisa and Juri that have full screen DR oki after fucking everything. 

There shouldn't be a damn universal parry in the game in the first place.

On the flip side, can we take a second to appreciate how much better hitbox are in SF6 compared to SFV? In 5 JP’s cane would be missing a hitbox for half/the entire stick and Chun’s arm would have maybe 2 pixels of forward disjointed hitbox.

Not really, Saudi Arabia is trying to diversify their investments. Their wealth is all tied up in oil. They know having their wealth tied solely to oil will be their downfall at some point. So they are using the dollars they have to get involved in as many industries as possible. They know that clock is going to strike twelve on them at some point. Saudi Arabia is devoid of natural resources of value except for oil.

DI is more annoying because you get hit by it every now and then for big damage, but DR is pretty much mandatory if you want to compete at the Master level online, let alone offline. The people who think DI is stronger are probably the same people who have no clue about frame data.

The hipocrisy is still annoying. American fgc is doing all these pushes towards diversity, more women, conde of conduct, cancelling those who use slurs etc, and try to stand behind the principles, but as soon as esports money is added to the equation - sorry the cash is more important 

Man this Saudi tournament fucking sucks. One hour of talking for 5 minutes of actual fighting game action. All this oil money production value for an event that puts you to sleep 

I remember saving up to buy a Saturn off someone who didn't want it anymore. It was really an amazing console with lots of great ports and hidden gems. The Saturn and Dreamcast that got me hooked on fighting games!
 
There is a weird old Saturn game that I loved as a kid called Mr. Bones. The live action cutscenes are worth it alone.

I play on stick but I play sf6 on Series X|S. I think it's kind of underrated to play on.

I played SF6 on a Series X today and I have to say that the d-pad on that controller is so much better than the immovable brick on that absolute piece of dogshit controller that is the Dualshock 4. Just so you know.

Never played SF6 on a DS5 but I heard it's indeed even worse than the DS4. 
 
I can remember a time when you could get a MadCatz fight stick with full Sanwa components for just 150...

I’ll be honest I don’t even know how to do DR lol. 
But you’re absolutely right about DR being needed at high level. I’m almost at Diamond 4 and realizing the entire system is needed and being aware of when and where to use it. 
 
I don’t really use drive gauge for anything besides OD moves and combo extensions. But the fact that parry just blocks mixups for you reminds me to use it more. I just know my meter management is ass so I try to be frugal with it lol.
