Before the Diablo 4 "server slam" thing ended, I got around to making a druid and leveled up to at least level 10 or 11... since the Necro got toned way down, I was having fun as the druid in comparison, focusing on the werebear form; with "Overpower" effect from a slam attack it does; the damage was amazing even early on....at least compared to what damage I was getting as the Necromancer. I *might* actually get this at least at a reduced price; part of the fun is that I know an old friend is getting back into Diablo again after a long time away some random shit---I tried playing an old Midway Arcade collection that was originally on 360 (maybe the original Xbox? I forgot)... mainly for some achievement hunting along with a dose of nostalgia---- but the achievements are apparently busted in addition to being pretty damn difficult anyway; there's some I did a few times in Defender and Defender II (*save at least 3 humans in Score Attack mode) but didn't get anything. ...I also got some more quality time with Streets of Rage 4 this weekend; at this point I've gone thru the game with everyone of the main cast (getting those "All stages cleared with ___" achievements) except Blaze....also I found that Hard difficulty Arcade mode actually isn't that tough.

that reminds me, that new-era CW Kung Fu was canceled recently as well https://deadline.com/2023/05/kung-fu-canceled-after-3-seasons-the-cw-1235357769/#! I never had interest in it though. For one, I don't recall if it had enough hot girls in the cast or not... at the very least, you could always count on the typical CW show for delivering on that.

Yeah it's interesting how Superman & Lois stands out in a good way on that network; seems like it doesn't belong there, considering what CW has been known for in the past few years now.... low budgets, overall crappy quality/writing, and certain obvious agendas thrown in the audience's face every 2 or 3 minutes. This network still had some of my favorite shows of the past few years though---Vampire, The Originals, and Supernatural, and now Superman & Lois.... and in Flash's case, at least the first 2 seasons were good....a real shame that show's quality dropped off considerably with each new season from that point. Also---good thing I gave up on Flash a while ago; I just remembered someone posted on twitter a shot of Iris being shown in a goddamn BONNET. If I had still been watching that would definitely have killed it for me right there. That raggedy-looking trash-bag shit is a scourge that should be erased from the universe forever. Yeah, just thinking about it disgusts me.

I never understood the random "Ciara's a man" rumors from years ago... it seemed like some random BS people like to throw out for whatever reason, which is always odd to me... like how people will just randomly start rumors of celebs dying when it's not the case--- like back in the mid or late 90s I kept hearing on a few occasions about how 1 of the guys from Kriss Kross died.....years before it finally happened for real (*usually these "hey I heard he died" kinda rumors would be about someone we haven't seen in a while, of course; so basically any 1-hit wonder in the music industry, or a child actor that stopped being famous when they grew up, etc.).....but yeah, the case with Ciara was so out of left field because nothing about her looks "manly" to me, so I'm not sure what the deal is there. At least some others like Serena W. might make sense if you've only ever seen her buff "final form" she's been in the last few years....but even there it would seem like the rumor to start is that she was secretly on steroids and never got caught.....or even better----the average WNBA player; basketball women tend to look like dudes most of the time, so that kind of rumor would actually be believable there.

Horror Music World with another good one this morning...

I've been playing Borderlands 3 again lately--- going thru leveling up Moze at the moment, who is still a pretty ridiculously strong/op character right from the start, imo... heh, it's not even fair to the enemies; you got a character here that summons a mech-suit with plenty of armor "health" and firepower, like a multi-rocket firing mechanism (*lock-on, homing missiles, btw) on 1 arm and machine-gun for the other one (*the auto/machine gun arm can overheat so you can't just *constantly* hold the trigger down).... also 1 of my kill-skills buffs the time the mech can be active.... then I picked another skill that gives me an energy shield/bubble for it. There is also boosted splash damage going on there...also, one of the options to have as a weapon arm fires 1 rocket that's a nuke with huge radiation damage! I vaguely remember they toned this character down a bit in one of the early patches but it still stands out as insanely strong in the early game at least. It also finally hit me that the optimal way to enjoy this game is to pay no attention to that awful story; I was listening to youtube podcasts while playing yesterday. I think the villains at least had strong potential though.... I love those character designs, and the concept could've been something great and interesting.... but it's one of those cases of "great idea... disappointing execution of it" I'd love it if part 4 just throws everyone into the mix...that would be my dream Borderlands game there... story-wise perhaps it could involve time-travel or something to excuse why certain people who are dead are back and playable. I was watching this character rankings vid the other day and it brought back some great memories; my favorites of all time were Doppelganger Jack, Krieg, Salvador, Willhelm and as of recently Moze and FL4K from 3....

^strange---it already is an optional combo. I suppose they mean combined like one unique brand/name, perhaps....it seems unnecessary. I'm still on the cheap Hulu plan; no interest in upgrading. That and Netflix are still my favorites in the world of paid streaming content services...with HBO not far behind. Oh apparently Stranger Things got delayed due to the writers' strike situation... mannn imagine how old the "kids" on that show will look when they FINALLY get around to shooting the final season.

I suspect that their response would be something like "that means the boat obviously found the edge, and fell off." -----or "See, there's some government tech that 'hides' the visual of the boat to make it seemingly disappear like magic...in order to maintain the Great Lie, see."

Succession----yeah I'm late to the party on this greatness. My dad was the one to introduce me to the hype of this show and it's definitely earned a new fan.... and this soundtrack for it is GOLD... the montage and the music is just perfection.

Scandalous is another legendary one....actually it's a frontrunner for my vote of THE sexiest song of all time Imagine how many babies got made to this song over the years. Sheeeeitttttttt.

That is quite the strange casting decision with Mortal Kombat--- Karl Urban as Johnny Cage? The job of casting director has become incredibly easy in recent years, man... I'm still laughing about Jaime Lee Curtis playing a character (Tannis) that in the games looks young enough to be her granddaughter....would be like getting Morgan Freeman to play Roland. I'm sure the casting for the upcoming Twilight reboot should be good and wacky too; I'm not a fan of that franchise but the results should be fun to watch. It will be a sad day for me whenever they inevitably "reboot" Vampire Diaries though. haha this dude on the podcast I'm watching lost the bet about the Super Mario movie hitting a billion... so now he has to eat pineapple pizza live on the show.

It's quite a shame what has happened with that game Redfall... one nitpick that stood out to me right away when watching that guy's livestream of it the other day... the story scenes are mostly just static images of characters. On this mainstream $70 game in 2023 with what probably had a serious budget... we couldn't get more animated scenes of what's going on in the story for cinematics? Really bruh? I'm inclined to disagree with suddenly blaming the game itself for that ign footage; that person still seemed like a bad/inexperienced player, imo....and it lines up with what we've all seen already from the typical "game journalist" person; that's been a running joke in the industry for a while now. *Taking it back to 2013 with the oldies---- I played Lost Planet 2 yesterday for a while.... yep I still have the disc, and it works just fine on the new X (*didn't mention it before but I recently got one, finally).... a shame this IP has become a relic of the recent past; I doubt it will ever make a comeback. Part 3 was looking like a mistake in every possible way, and seems to have murdered the franchise....but yeah LP2 was good stuff; I remember playing through it with 2 friends at the time and it was like being the main characters in a big action movie.

The main fuck-up right now I'd say is the long wait on their big IPs that are at home on Xbox---it's years later and STILL no Gears 6....not even preview footage/news that I've seen. I *think* a new Fable is on the way but it's been a while since I heard anything about that as well....and of course Halo as a franchise is in a sad state of affairs at this point... at least I'm not really into it anymore. That recent streaming series probably did it no favors...but I was long gone before that point anyway. Actually it was Gears and Unreal games (or at least Unreal Championship 2 specifically; the one most people probably forgot or never played in the 1st place, sadly) that surpassed it for me--once I was into those, Halo was no longer that interesting. Halo just couldn't compete with what the other shooters were bringing to the table. ...it's more frustrating as I think of this now--- Gears 5 came out in 2019. It would be nice to at least see some previews/teaser clips of what's coming up in part 6. Oh---that game Chrono Odyssey looks goddamn amazing.... too bad it had to be a MMORPG though

All the reports of rampant crime are truly an embarrassment for this society, imo....when you have a justice system that is generally an ineffective joke, the breakdown of a typical family structure + the reality that the dumbfuck trash of society tends to just outbreed normal, respectable people.... leading to more generations of dumb kids with zero respect for any authority growing up to be miserable shits that are destined to cause trouble later.... basically that's the results you get.... more reasons that the USA is a pathetic clown show for the rest of the world to constantly laugh about. I hope the hostile aliens arrive sooner rather than later. I genuinely hope that I'm still around to see that day when it happens....I'd hate to miss out on having a front row seat to that show.

I *finally* checked out some of that show Love, Death & Robots and it's goddamn incredible stuff... a shame that probably is not on 4k disc anywhere. I'm still just on the first of the 3 volumes... I forgot if it started at 3 or 1... sometimes the last volume or season of something is at the top of the list, I've noticed.... the last one I saw was about some soldiers who were presumably on another planet and they get overrun by little metallic spider creatures... until there's just 2 of them left and they meet up with some giant demonic looking thing that wants to be set free. It's non-stop amazing shit going on here... a shame that the episodes are all just short-form, 1-shot episodes.....though it kind of reminds me of the way "Liquid Television" was back in the 90s.

It is great to see that we're finally getting back to the days of easily buying new systems again... it is indeed "normal" to see PS5s and OLED Switch at Target lately... and *sometimes* I actually see at least 1 new Xbox in there as well...(*the Series X, actually! ...not just the half-ass one no one really wants) Today is the day for Redfall, btw---I'll get it eventually. If only they hadn't made so many questionable/dumb decisions with it, that game would've been an easy "day one." for me. I am intrigued already to see who the future characters are that will be added as DLC though...that's always the most interesting type of "extra" content that is to be released later... ......which reminds me----this was another disappointing thing about that goddamn Borderlands 3. They never added new playable characters, and if I recall... they never had plans on it either....which just seemed shitty and stupid, imo... like you're leaving some fairly easy money on the table by not doing that. (*especially since "new" characters can easily be rehashed concepts and archetypes we've already seen countless times anyway; it's not like you have to keep re-inventing the wheel there) It's a normal expectation that fans had for years with that series, since part 2 and Pre-Sequel had interesting new characters added to the roster later.

Man... playing some old xbox games the other day... I found that Doritos Crash Course is still there and works. After all these years, I was thinking that it would've been "de-listed" since it was one of those promotional games that's basically just a commercial for that brand. ha, yeah I was running thru the Doritos course with my avatar character once again. There's some surprisingly tough spots just on the first course. I got at least 1 achievement out of that shit yesterday ...ooh, imagine if YARIS is still available! Yep I had that one too. 😆 I also had some of those Burger King games.
