  1. This is the key point. Even in this example, I'm ok with the first half, then he goes on a tangent. Better at =/= only good at. That said about the family aspect of it, nothing that is being stated is exclusive to one sex. It takes two to tango. The way it's presented sounds more akin to "know your place".
  2. I can see how this can sound nice, but this is more blind servitude than slavery. Given the definition of slavery, it isn't a choice. I can agree. This is the part where the dynamics of communicating play out. I agree, yet the premise is about someone interpreting their place in the relationship as the lead. There is a give and a take. In your example, that's actually how my wife and I work. We listen to each other's advice and understand that we have a vested interest in our well-being. It is not from a place of authority. This falls back to why the "alpha" concept is bullshit. It's been discussed countless times that the alpha in the pack is the compassionate leader, and the pack follows because they want to. Leaders are also good listeners, which the alpha also demonstrates. The unfortunate truth in all of this is you have camps of people being told "you gotta be #1," and "there are things people will put in the way, and you have to have to take charge and be the boss". Half of this could be solved if people just listened to the needs of the other person instead of beating their chest and kicking in doors in the name of being the Alpha Male/Boss Bitch.
  3. Without doing a Google hunt, I recall something he said on a podcast to the effect of "If I have responsibility over her, that gives me a degree of authority". In the context I recall it being about dating and how men take responsibility for those things. Sure it sounds OK but thinking about it for 2.67 seconds, he's putting her in the place of a child. That's a whole ass adult you're talking about.
  4. That's a fair inclusion in the Home Cook's Rogues' Gallery. 🤣 Poor baby hasn't live long enough to realize this is not the way. I'm good with all that, yet there seems to be a fair bit of putting someone else in their place to lift you up to make it work. David Goggins is a far better example of putting the best version of yourself out there in the world.
  5. Over the weekend I did the Cooper River Bridge Run. A 10K over the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge in Charleston, SC. It's the largest race that I've done. This year there were about 27,500 people registered for the race. I "got over it" 🤣 but I caught the worst toe cramp of the last mile that made me stop for about a good 5 minutes and walk the rest of the way. It's my third time doing the run and I hope to keep this going for years to come. Any runners in the group? What races have you all done if any?
  6. Overall, yes. There is a period where the show takes an interesting turn in the story, but the show overall is pretty great. The banter between the characters sets it apart.
  7. Thanks! It's been a rollercoaster coming off the heels of losing my dad. Now, I just have to impart those lessons and refine them from what I have. Time has been flying though. Seems like yesterday we just found out. Now the "bump" is starting to be a thing.
  8. Quick update. My wife and I are excited (and partially terrified)! Late Summer 2023 😎 This is #1.
  9. Decepticon Judgement Day As a side, I finally got MP Skyfire. I recommend it. Takara again proves that less is more (in terms of the complexity of the build). The figure feels solid and looks like the character (for better or worse). Solid recommend. Also got Yukkikaze (third trainbot). Out of the three, this is my favorite to transform. It also feels good in hand. Definitely worth a purchase. After Getsui, I wasn't sure what to think about the MPG line. I honestly think Takara will be able to land Raiden, despite being a more stylized approach.
  10. I really need to use mine more often. The enemy of cooking at home is time.
  11. Not sure if you're being serious but to get us on the same page - From Merriam-Webster bigot - a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices prejudice - an adverse opinion or leaning formed without just grounds or before sufficient knowledge If you are insinuating that because they don't accept themselves, a person doesn't have to accept their ideology is an egregious fallacy. It doesn't have anything to do with the premise.
  12. Are you using impact tools? For stuff like this, use a cheater bar to provide some god-tier torque slowly. What I have used as a bar is the handle from a floor jack. Slip it over the end and work at it from the furthest end.
  13. John Wick 4 is escalation at it's finest. the movie deserves an honest shot for awards related to cinematography and stuntwork. Somehow the fourth movie about an assassin who went on a killing spree because someone stole his car and killed his dog still slaps. The way that things conclude, I do hope that this rounds everything out. Solid recommend.
  14. I remember reading about that interview a while back. You can tell he was legitimately confused 🤣
  15. . . . and there are people that honestly think the "South will rise again". . . . These are our elected officials . . . .
  16. Again . . . violence is not the way . . . but he was ready to fight for his teacher
  17. I was going to mention that along with EA Play and PS+. There will be a point where hardware will become less relevant (outside of the peripherals themselves).
  18. The cost/benefit for standing it up is likely why gaming companies haven't done it. Since content is just a set of multimedia files you download, standing up your own platform is pretty easy and you cut out the middle man. The backend "mechanically" is likely the same, with a different UI. Game companies could do that now (if they wanted) but the return would be abysmal as the base (of the platform) would be a lot lower. That said, if cloud-gaming does become reliable (and marketable), I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes as fragmented as the streaming apps.
  19. . . . when you want it. It's like going out to eat, you're paying for the convenience.
  20. She wasn't tricked, she wrote a chapter in a book without fully understanding the material she was writing about. and Briahna Joy Gray responded. She asked to help start a discussion from a commonplace and Mandel failed at doing so.
  21. Dodge made a vehicle that knew what it was and leaned all the way into it.
