  1. I would say that the novelty wore off. In a similar vein, GOWR is stellar in (mo-cap) performance and looks but is a more refined version of the previous entry. I feel the same way about GOWR. Its still great, but playing through the title, the first game had a much tighter story. The former was much less of a concern than the latter 🤣
  2. I feel so bad for the Guerilla Games team. Their last two big projects are stellar but are released in the same window as other well received titles. Their product team needs some black ops intel regarding what else is coming out around them. The only other game in recent memory with similar luck was Titanfall 2.
  3. I may get Needlenose. I have the other two and they are great figures. Especially Spinister (which is possibly the best TF name to date).
  4. I love that they kept Prime with the battle mask as a faceplate.
  5. Those guys started as YouTubers who gave somewhat decent physical training advice. The sentiment by Laura Ingraham was that people should work at in their lane.
  6. Reading through the thread reminded me of something. Seeing the HodgeTwins become thought leaders in the conservative space just add more fuel to how ridiculous the "shut up and dribble" stance was.
  7. Why would it even come to that? Also the folks saying they will buy a phone from Elon's shop have no real understanding of how those software platforms work.
  8. When you all were talking about DMC3, it reminded me that my PS2 was on fire that year. God of War and DMC3 were released within one month of each other.
  9. Still haven't seen the first movie. Where the first one was a technical marvel in it's time. It is likely a harder sell now.
  10. Once was very early on in the game where Brok mentions it when you first upgrade the axe. Not too much earlier, Kratos mentions how it wears everything down but It's not shown in a way that I could believe my max-stat build from 2018 lost all the gainz.
  11. 100% agree with this take. However, I felt that it made more sense in 2018, but not this game. As @RSG3mentioned in a post, power-scaling has been an issue but this seems to make less sense here. At least moving from one game to the next (GOW1 - GOW3) there was a process for stripping your powers. The game alludes to the fact Fimbulwinter did it, but that doesn't really make sense especially since Atreus is stronger this go round. Couple that with the fact that many of the enemies are the same, it just feels like you got reset due to reasons. In game, the difficulty issue still presents itself from the 2018 game. It seems more like difficulty is "they hit harder, you hit softer" than any difference in moveset or tactics. I refuse to play this game on Give Me God of War. I don't want to spend 2 minutes fighting a level 1 Raider and it narratively feels wrong to feel so significantly underpowered. As a side, I've gone through about half of the final challenges and one of the secret bosses where the Crucible is located. I appreciate the fact that in this game, I have only died because of my stupidity. There were several times in the 2018 release where it was the game itself that killed me.
  12. It was a couple of things. Not only is it what happens but the answer. It is the exact word I used to describe everything I have felt in the last few months. It is also mastery in gaming mo-cap with facial expressions. One character said not a single word and you read five different emotions across their face. I sat through the entire credits and just let the tears run. As I mentioned, this game was emotionally taxing going through it. Besides a man-tear hear and there it was nothing that really had me in the feels. That scene took everything I had emotionally bottled up and wrung it out like a wet towel. The answer to the riddle was setup and payoff with perfect execution. Yeah, it's not good. I finished the ravens before getting to the post game. There is a line spoken and you know what you will need to do at the close of it. In Kratos words - "Ready yourself".
  13. Got to the actual "end" credits roll for God of War when you see a character off. Right before the close, one of the riddle's is answered. That hit me in the feels. They earned a slow clap.
  14. Andor continues to impress week to week. If they stick the landing, this is possibly the best thing Disney has done with the franchise so far. Also -
  15. It's definitely a slow burn. The main reason for my criticism is how things switch up in the middle of the game. I'll be honest, this was a pretty tall order (emotionally) for me to go through. There are several qualities of Kratos personality in the "reboot" that my father carried, especially when it came to his kids. Playing through it just reminded me how much I miss him.
  16. Finally finished GOWR. It's a worthy followup to the 2018 game. This game does a good job humanizing Kratos and showing growth in the character. My only flaw is that that story (while impactful) is not as tight as the first game.
  17. There is some truth to the statement. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-racist-roots-of-fighting-obesity2/ Problem is, in the context of the discussion it's complete BS. Also, the anchor ain't need to put her body composition out there like that.
