It seems most of the players, even the pros, want the new patch. Given the large number of players, it presents an excellent opportunity for them learn about the new meta going forward. It's not a CPT event but the knowledge gained could be used to help them at CPT events  down line. Dudes are going to be meeting and labbing the game while at the event. The tournament itself will just be a bonus to them.

I don't even know how this is a debate.  Playing the old version, nobody will care to tune in.  The excitement a new version will bring is well worth the potential randomness.

Got up this morning and started checking out Punk's stream. He's in Japan grinding SF6 ranked.
 
He was losing to a JP while talking to chat. The JP ended up winning.
 
With Quicksilver liked speed, the JP player left without rematching.

Not gonna lie, I'm happy to put myself back into the ranked madness of SF6.
 
I was kinda worried jumping back in because I stopped playing for months, but that rust is basically gone now.
 
I just need to keep playing and focus on sharpening my awareness. 

I love how the only change noted for Lily is a nerf to her cr.HP.

Yeah I don't really agree with a lot of this.
 
Zeku is a stance character. He's not covered by Kim. If anything Kim makes Guy less likely.
Laura and Manon don't play anything a like. This reminds of the Abel and Alex nonsense from SFIV.
Lucia was not a "fan service" pick. Most people didn't even know who she was. If they wanted a fanservice pick, they'd have used Maki.
Falke was poorly executed but IF she came back she wouldn't be the same character. Like Ed she'd get an overhaul due to Modern Controls taking her gimmick.
Kolin - Not going to stand Ice Queen slander. With the less restrictive juggle system of SF6 and not having all of her cool shit locked behind V-Trigger, it would be fun see Kawano and Nephew ice skate all over people, let alone play her myself.
 

I hope the 1000+ people playing this game at Combo Breaker is ready.

Mena is an exceptional player. I always felt he never got the respect he was due. Hopefuly that's changing now.
