I hate the fgc so much.

"I'd play the game if it had rollback"

    *game gets rollback*

"Well it doesn't have cross play, and it never goes on sale, so...."

These same retards will play SFV and Tekken 7 which have crappy netcode and not say a damn thing. They regularly fall for the consumerist nonsense every time a new game comes out, praising it to high heaven and then dropping it after a month to go back to whatever they were playing before because trying to get especially western Capcom/SF players to play anything else for any length of time is impossible. Doesn't matter what it is, if it isn't Capcom or SF, they won't stick with it.

And really, there IS no fgc; there's an SF community, a Tekken community, a Strive community, etc. These people don't play anything but their main game to any degree of seriousness.

In short, yeah, it's too late. But imo the sweetest part of SamSho getting rollback aside from the netcode getting better is just exposing the hypocrisy and disingenuousness in the fgc.

We knew when SamSho announced its rollback it wasn't gonna do well cause it would be after SF6 came out.  We knew 6 was gonna suck all the air outta the room.  Even Strive was a ghost town in that month after SF6 dropped.

And you can hardly blame a community for not jumping on a game that's been dormant for a decade or so.  Most gamers weren't even serious gamers last time a new samsho was around, and the existing samsho players are a lot older.  Of course they're gonna fall off.

Even me, if i had room for another game I'd probably check out granbloo first.

@Pair of RooksNice seeing you in the towers. Sorry that it got so unstable near the end.

GGs. My connection to everyone has been poor lately. Last two times I played ended when I got unceremoniously dumped to the title screen.

EDIT:  3 times.  And it's on the 3rd game of a set when i get a good start-round read.  Hmmm.

Kolins season 3 buffs was legendary. I’ll never not give Capcom props for giving her a gun. But I hate how they realized what they created and knee capped her every year after. Fucking sucks. If anyone wants to body me I’m online. Don’t think I’ve played anyone here except Hawk. I’m starting to think no one actually plays this shit…

I'm actually back on Strive for reasons I'm unclear on.

But even there I'm shit tier since I still don't play much.   (Wife was in an accident, her mental health is my full-time job now.)

Finally got around to playing the AKI update since I've been off the game for a while now. I decided to play her trials, tutorial and arcade mode. She's fantastic. She's also really fucking hard to use. Everything about her is built on being able to either precog your game plan or be constantly in a position where you can capitalize off of the most situational stray hit. I was worried that her combo trials would filter me but after an hour split between 2 days I got em. I'm gonna go full in and drop Lily for her. She's gonna help me expand my understanding of SF6 and fighting games in general. I've never played a character in any fighting game that demands this much from me. I don't care if she sucks. Her routes are fun and her skill ceiling seems limitless. Gonna take her into rank later this week and start all the way from the bottom. Lily will be my side unga character when I wanna be a retard but AKI is gonna be the main from here on out. Maybe for the entirety of the game baring Kolin doesn't come back (please god please).

Sorry Nemo but this was the confirmation I needed that Aki is bottom tier.

Yah I don't know anything about their system either, but as robust as it is and the way they have totally killed it with SF6, and being a software engineer for 20 years now, this seems like a really easy problem to solve conceptually, which is why it's so surprising to me that this is a problem.

Smash's replay system is the same way. I believe the thinking was anything worth keeping would be uploaded to YouTube etc anyway so there's little reason for the extra engineering.

Finally got time to play after a two week drought. I’ve technically had internet for a few weeks but it’s been a lot of drama trying to get Comcast working correctly (at one point they were only giving us half the speed we payed for) and we only have the one modem downstairs. So basically if I wanted internet access I had to move my whole setup downstairs. Just got a power line adapter and used it with my computer for the first time and it works great.

Had time to climb to Diamond 4 but this was probably my least enjoyable session in 6. At one point I fought 6 Kens in a row, and I was getting a shitton of 1 and done fights. I will say that I was at “chance to rank up” and the Ken player let me win so I could advance ❤️

Who you playing you attract 1&dones like that? Dhalsim?? 😂

Srsly tho the basement is top tier for gaming. Naturally cooler, darker, and soundproof-er.  I envy..

At any rate, I thought I'd be sticking with Ryu but it's harder to win with him than I expected, so back to Blanka for me! I haven't had him as my main since SF4, and I've always liked his unpredictably, options for cross ups and easy mode damage. I need to be CARRIED! 😆

I'm glad to hear this, despite birthing another blanka main into the world.

Meanwhile I've dropped to floor 7 with Johnny, as his specials just aren't where I expect them to be.  Wild Assault is fun.

If a characters walk speed is for example 0.043 what does that mean?

    distance divided by time.

Time is probably 1/60th of a frame judging by the decimal points.   Distance... is probably measured by the engine's 3D world coordinates, since how much 2D space a pixel represents depends on how much the camera is zoomed in or out.  Which means it's ultimately arbitrary unless you bring up the game in Unreal engine or whatever they're using.
