Congratulations on the upgrade from Kyle bro

I'm sussing out how I feel with the patch lol
My first impression was to be thankful for nerfs, but I didn't grasp just how buff the system mechanic changes would make characters. I'm seeing everyone get wall break from round start because of WA, extremely messed up mixups on blocked WA etc. It seems damage is overall way up which is crazy and I do not care for. Positive bonus granting burst is also a big mistake bc it makes breaking the wall with WA pay for itself, and ironically encourages playing lame after getting it so you can get as much burst back as possible if you need it.

But you know, nago beyblade hits low and his new 6h is pretty criminal so how mad can I really be...?

    Thx.

I expect once things settle the damage will be the same as S2 but with extra steps.  I know everyone's labbing WA right now but soon we'll look into the new defense mechanic and reconsider the improved blue burst.

All I know rn is I actually like fighting Axl and even HC isn't that bad.  BnBs no longer being burst safe feels so much better.

    Back to Johnny Walker tech...

I think Chaos is overall nerfed. Sure he’s easier to play and 6K is now a starter, but Roll’s distance being nerfed means he won’t cross up as much with it and just shooting a guy took a damage nerf.

He also got hit with the system buffs. Blue burst being full screen now means he will have to stop playing the game he used to play even if he blocks it and he doesn’t have unburstable combos now. His wall loops also took a hit with wall slumping giving you a ton of burst back.

Kinda yeah, but also what does a damage nerf even mean on someone uninteractable.

And frankly Ino needed wall slump.

Man, Cammy gotta be the one character who gets better if you literally take moves away from her. Why she has that shitty St.HP target combo for forward HK is beyond me. They don't do shit other than randomly give you input errors.

I legit played Cammy for maybe ten minutes and had this happen so much I dropped the character.

    Ten minutes.  It's bad.

So now that I'm pretty much done with World Tour and Arcade, I'm legitimately tryna learn the game as of last week. Right now I'm learning Ryu to get my feet wet. But I can't help but feel like maybe the learning curve is steeper than at least SF5? Reacting to and countering DI, DR combos and getting the perfect parry timing is gonna take time. I'm hanging back on ranked until I get a handle on this stuff. If anyone has pointers I'll take what I can get!

    Don't play Ryu!

Or a grappler of any kind!

n fact I think the distribution of reversals in this game is completely fucked and one of the biggest dividers between the have’s and have not’s. Like why do Ken and Luke, two of the most well rounded functions in the game, have DP’s AND the best level 1’s in the game? To me that should be and either/or situation. Meanwhile Gief has no DP, which is fine, but then no reversal level 1 and also a garbage tier level 2? C’mon now. JP gets a fully invincible counter that also grants full combo on hit and usually ends with the other guy full screen to deal with his zoning like???

Having a DP in this game is insanely strong you straight don’t have to deal with certain mixups

Idk I feel there almost aren't any DPs in this game at all.   If you want iframes you need meter, and even then most level ones do that job.  What is the point of a nonmetered DP in this game? You want a big damage aa you're better off with challenging with a rising normal that causes Float, and go into a combo. See Ryu j.MP

Having a DP in this game is extremely weak when the whole cast can Parry away any mixups.

I got a question for you guys about a mental hurdle I have with SF6 and have always had with fighting games.

When I am playing, and I think some BS happens or something, like I feel my move should have came out on wake up but doesn't and I get stuffed, even if it has to do with me pressing the wrong buttons, or if I feel like I blocked something but I didn't, I can't just let it go immediately.  Like it semi puts me on tilt for the rest of the match and makes me play worse because I am dwelling on it.

Any of you the same way or were the same way, and figured out a way to get over this  mental hurdle?  I feel like this is one of the mental aspects of the game I just can't get to grips with but know it is something that will help me if I can just forget it quickly and move on.

    EDIT:

Perfect example was last night I won round 1 against my buddy and I was about to win round 2, but I dropped a special move after a normal that would have lead into CA and win, and he supered me and won round 2.  Then the entire round 3 I was salty about it and it definitely hindered my play in round 3.  I want to figure out how to clear that up.

I commentate my own match while it's happening.  I can't do any negative self talk while commentating the current moment , and the pace of my voice helps my fingers keep a steady pace.  It also helps me recognize and call out opponent tendencies which can help my reaction time when it's time to explode their mixups or rote neutral.

As long as I'm not missing shit four times a round or something in which case I hang it up for the day. Some days the neurons just don't fire right. But they're usually rare.

Only super small thing that bother me about her is they could have done it without histerical bitch laugh, we got Juri to cover that, would have much prefered her to be just a whispering psychopathic

Is anyone else bothered by the lack of drive reversal at EVO? I didn’t watch every match over the weekend stream but i can count on one hand the amount of drive reversals I saw. People don’t use it even when there is 0 risk.

Mena used it a ton, particularly his Luke vs Haitani, and even his blanka a couple of times vs tokido.

I can't remember ever seeing so much dreversal before.

EDIT also pretty much every dhalsim player, because dhalsim.
