Yeah, that’s the BS about it. Journalists and things are going to vote for what is the most progressive or maybe most news worthy. They’re not voting on what game was the best game for its respective category.
 
I don’t know anything about TLOU2, but isn’t there a trans character in it? Guaranteed Vice, or whoever voted for it, are writing up their articles now along the lines of “despite all odds”.
 
and to be clear, I’m very progressive. I don’t have an anti-gay/trans bone in my body. I’m in full support of them actually. I think it’s cool a game like that could win GOTY, but the majority of the voting power shouldn’t belong to companies that can profit off the outcome.

Also, unrelated to everything, but at work, yesterday and today especially, I’m damn near at my breaking point. I snapped in front of colleagues today trying to help me print something. I booted the printer and stormed out of the office. Not a good look.
 
ive talked to two other colleagues today and both of them are their breaking points too. One walked off a job site 6 hours earlier than they were supposed to... another told his boss to “fuck off” lol

I don’t think you need an excuse to not know who this guy is... I don’t think he’s the face of a franchise like Mario, Link, or Ryu is, right? Doesn’t like every FF game have a different set of characters?
 
Also, he seems to have a fairly generic look, so I’m kinda surprised you guys think he should be on the same level as Mario or something.

I haven't played a single minute of any FF game. Idgaf about anything Sony had on PS1 and PS2 because I was a diehard Nintendo fan.
 
I legit didn't even watch a full run of Remake because I was getting jealous of how good and hype that game looked.

The interesting thing is... I know exactly where most of these are actually from... 

There is a part of me that believes that SNK (and by extension, SNK Playmore) at the time of KOF 2000 release were bringing Rugal back to begin with. 
 
Because, if you notice that "dead" character will *blink* out of existence when they complete their assist moves when the player uses them as strikers. 
The characters that are still alive and active (and in many cases, even playable) jump off of the screen. 
 
Now, Rugal? ... He jumped off of the screen. 
 
Now with how things were at the time, it could have been just an oversight. 
But, now because of how the XIV story line took place, Rugal's return is extremely likely. It will not be surprising if Rugal made his return as a boss in XV. But, it would also be hype as fuck.
