Everyone STFU about politics today, it's my B-day. But I'm going to be lazy and post my tweets (or X posts) to show off what I have done today:
 
I haven't been to Knott's in YEARS. Park was dead so rides were easy to get on.
I am FAT on the food pass they had (20 bucks and I can eat a meal every 90 min? oh man...)  I'm thin but I have a GUT now.
Got some cards I ordered in the mail and my wife bought me a box of boosters. What's cool about those boosters is you can take two and shuffle and play. 
I'm home relaxing as it's HOT in SoCal. Getting a pizza then watching an older anime series I got my wife into. She's caught up over the years on everything from One Piece to Naruto to newer series (Tokyo Revengers/Black Clover) but of the major series she's never seen is Bleach and with the them finally covering the last arc, now I figured (even if the anime is low res for a chunk of it's run) is the best time to get her into it and she's liking it so far. 
 
I don't do much of anything wild for my day but at now 38, I am happy with a simpler day. 
 

Amtrak in  parts of PA is like that.  East of Harrisburg (middle of the state) Amtrak maintains the rails and has right of way.  West of Harrisburg, Norfolk Southern maintains the rails, so every Amtrak train just sits for hours having to wait for every freight train that wants to squeeze through.

I've taken the train once. It's certainly more comfortable than most other commercial transit options. My gripe was that it took 9 hours to get to somewhere 4 hours away. A freight train was stuck and they have the priority on the railways. 

Yeah, then there's also the issue of me getting louder if I have headphones on.
 
I am not proud of it, but it is a lot harder to whisper "motherfucker" when you have headphones on. You get a difference of oh...I don't know, 20 decibels?

Well, I get to work more at home now. In the position to. Heat exhaustion to heat stroke symptoms a few weeks ago really made me consider things.

First thing you need to know is how to differentiate between versions. 
 
Heavy version (+ on block) has Ken say a voice line (“how’s this” iirc) while light and medium are kinda generic grunts. Heavy is also much slower and reactable and can be jabbed.

Eh, most of this stuff is politics adjacent rather than actual politics.  And literally every topic is politics adjacent if you want it to be, so it's whatever.

Dude, I'm not even talking about the merit of the idea.  I read the paper, it's a plausible concept.  I'm saying that this guy did almost none of the ground work you need to do if you want to get NIH funding for ANYTHING, and then is apparently whining about it like it's some sort of conspiracy?  Might as well complain about a car company you don't work for not paying you to build a concept car you once built a Lego model of.
 
Have you worked in pharma?  "A start-up company in New Zealand" isn't a resounding endorsement of an idea.  You'd be fucking astounded at the amount of stuff that works in a petri dish that doesn't make through clinical trials.  One pilot study isn't getting $2 million from anybody unless you snow job a venture capitalist a la Elizabeth Holmes with Theranos.

Fauci is retired The guy who came up with that was at a DARPA funded lab, not an NIH (where Fauci worked) funded lab Hop on PubMed and look this up.  There's literally only 2 papers on this, one of which doesn't even have anything to do with the guy who's asking for $2 million to "study it further" Literally none of the authors on either of those papers have any kind of established publishing track record.  That's a red flag that tells you nobody who knows what they're doing wanted to risk having their name on this thing Even if this guy went to the NIH looking for money, the lack of credentials wouldn't get him past the administrative assistants, Fauci wouldn't even have heard about it There are plenty of places that aren't the NIH to get funding for scientific research.  Apparently none of the rest of them wanted to pony up either.  If he went to them at all.
