I feel like Ed hate is so fucking forced. I understand that people didn't like the disconnect between how he looked in the story VS how he looked as a playable character. But I always thought Ed was cool and I think his over all game plan was fun to watch especially at the tournament level. So fuck it. I'm gonna use Ed. I'm playing the character just to piss people off. I'm now and AKI/Ed main. I don't care if he ends up being ass tier I'm gonna annoy you fuckers online!!!!!!!!!!

Nah I like the way SF6 Ed looks but I stand on him being a shit SFV newcomer.

Terrible looking generic shadaloo getup with some boxing gloves slapped on combined with unoriginal “white/blond spare Bison body #10037” background. Literally could not put less effort into his design.

Other than 123 being slightly annoying I was never bothered by the way he played. Snatcher and his VT1 are cool, and I liked the simplified inputs experiment.

Anyone else tired of SF6? I don't dislike the game and I think it's a big improvement over V, I just don't feel like playing it anymore for some reason.

Most of my disinterest in SF6 is the result of irl stress. I redownloaded it a couple weeks back bc I want to get back in but man I just don’t have the energy to play the game.

When I do occasionally find the energy to play a video game I tend to go for something more relaxing like a single player game. I got Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection as a Christmas gift and I’ve mostly been playing that. Playing SF6 is a lot more stress and mental involvement, and that’s after the fact the only character I like isn’t very good haha.

  3. Jesus Christ that was some of the sloppiest non-Philly playoff football I’ve ever seen by the Ravens tonight. Reffing towards the end definitely feeds the “NFL is rigged/WWE vibes”, but really Baltimore was just bad.

Also I need a Lions upset I cannot watch a Chiefs/49’ers Super Bowl. Absolutely 0 interest in seeing that matchup.

Edit: Already glazing tf outta Reid and Mahomes as if they put on some kind of elite performance when it was mostly just the Ravens offense imploding. Ravens held them to 3 points in their last 9 drives lol

His cr.mk is stubby compared to the other cancelable lows.  Cammy, Ken, Ryu, Chun, Juri all have way better cancelable lows than Jamie.  And the characters that don't have cancelable lows like DJ, Guile and JP are just way better in other areas.  None of these characters have to give up oki to drink either.

lol this paragraph is exactly the issue I have with SF6’s balancing. You have characters like Jamie who need to make meaningful choices during their gameplay loop with actual weaknesses in mind. Then you have other characters where it seems like the design ethos was “lol give em everything”. It feels like there is two different philosophies at work here.

Also actually looking at the roster it bugs me how with the exception of JP pretty much all the SF6 newcomers are mediocre.

    Snip

Funny thing is that I don’t really see asking for those characters to be top tier, just for their glaring flaws to be fixed. The meta isn’t gonna be broken by Gief getting a functional level 1 super lol.

Answering the original question, I think Jamie or Kimberly are the biggest contenders for “most likely to be over buffed”.

Edit: I agree with twin lol. I don’t think he’s secret top tier or anything but I definitely do not think he’s as bad as ppl are trying to say he is. Just having a DP, cancelable low, and usable drive rush puts him above the actually bad characters

  6. I do not like Ed, but credit where it’s due…his look in 6 is WAY better than SFV. Pale and a bit washed out color wise really suits him, and his new outfit is perfect imo. Street clothes with no shirt >>> Shadaloo reject rags.

Also I might be reaching, but I feel like the trailer implied a greater reliance on boxing vs Psycho Power for his fight style. Would be an interesting development.

Ngl I watched this trailer ready to make “when’s Akuma” jokes but I’m genuinely impressed. Reserving final judgement for gameplay footage but trailer to trailer I’d say he’s the best looking DLC character so far.

  7. I’m curious to see if they stick with the 4 characters per season thing. I really like it this way but I know a lot of people aren’t happy with it.

Hoping for Laura in S2 I think she would be AMAZING in SF6. Unfortunately I don’t expect to see Vega or Charlie in this game.

  8. Ed pick is legitimately baffling to me. Even if we ignore the fact SFA and SF3 are unrepresented, SFV is overflowing with amazing original characters and top tier redesigns…and we get Ed. Shadaloo-at-home flavored generic white blonde guy.

Even if I give Capcom the benefit of the doubt and assume they are saving the real SFV heavy hitters like Laura and Menat to drive sales in later seasons…you gonna sit here and tell me Ed is better than G? Kolin? Fem Seth? Zeku?

    lol no

Philly hasn't been right all year. I can't fathom why, for the most part. Philly has been healthy this year.

I watched probably 90% of our snaps this year and there is a few things going on. Spoilers for length

    Spoiler

    * Our team hasnt been healthy for large swaths of the season. Our starting slot corner and LBs (Cunningham and I think someone else) have been injured for like 90% of the season. Slay (our only decent corner) has been out for knee surgery the last month. Hurts was dealing with a knee injury in the middle of the season and while he didn’t miss many games, he hasn’t looked the same mobility wise (Troy said as much last night).

    * Our healthy D players also just have been playing like shit. Some of it has been Howie signing guys literally off the street that I’ve never heard of as LBs and Safeties, and the other part is that a ton of players fell off unexpectedly. Guys like Bradberry (CB), Slay (CB), Sweat (DE), Reddick (DE), Carter (DT), Davis (DT) have all taken a complete dive in terms of production despite all being decent to elite at this same point last year. However, when that many guys are struggling, that tends to indicate…

    * Coaching this year has been some of the worst I’ve ever seen in my years as a football fan. If you never saw a birds game from this season before tonight all you had to do watch us lost to the Bucs (and listen to Aikman and Buck call out our obvious mistakes all night) to see bc it’s been the same shit all season.

Extreme reluctance to run the ball outside of designed QB runs that put our (sometimes injured) QB in danger, doing absolutely nothing to adjust to obvious blitzes (Tampa was blitzing us on ~66% of downs at one point), extreme under utilization of motion, throwing deep balls 20+ yards down the field when we need 2 yards for a first down, calling hyper conservative shit like WR screens (100 times a game) when we actually need big gains to get a first/get into FG range, over reliance on long developing WR routes, playing corners 10 yards off when the opposing offense needs 3 yards for a first, etc etc I could go on. This team got to 10 wins off early season unfamiliarity, ref ball, talent players like AJ Brown and Hurts willing us to wins despite bad coaching, and pure luck like KC receivers having bricks for hands. Anyone actually watching our games will tell you they haven’t passed the eye test since struggling to beat the damn Patriots in week 2.

    * Hurts (like many players on our roster) has regressed this year. Way more picks/fumbles, lots of Carson Wentz-esque hero ball, bailing on pockets early for no reason, poor decision making on audibles, and he’s back to staring down receivers and not going through his progressions properly. He not washed or terrible like some of our more extreme fans are suggesting, and he is certainly not being helped by our coaching staff, but he hast looked like the MVP candidate from last year.

Finally, because we were a 10 win team a lot of valid criticisms were ignored. As mentioned the Eagles were failing the eye test as early as week 2, yet you got the feeling a lot of it was brushed of bc “hey but the won right?”

    This was an ok video.

Adding delay getup: From a purely visual standpoint I absolutely HATE DWU because I think a fighter just laying on the ground to “dodge” an attack looks ridiculous and unintuitive. With that out of the way…I definitely agree with Justin saying that oki is a little too automatic in 6. I also like what he said about DWU making the other person miss their drive rush meaty. They can still meaty you after, but as we know most buttons in SF6 aren’t plus with DR so it would be interesting.

Nerf parry: Agreed, but only if we are also toning down some offensive options as well. Parry in its current implementation is dumb but I feel like a lot of offensive options in 6 are built with the strength of parry in mind. Just nerfing parry with no other adjustments would have a pretty big unforeseen domino effects.

Drive Reversal faster and refunds some bar: I agree with Justin that doing both of these might be overboard, but I’m not sure. Could work with the right number tweaks

Make some level 1’s more invul: yes god please. Hard disagree on Justin’s counterpoint about seeing level 3’s less being a bad thing.

Nerf the heavy>drive impact checkmate in burnout: lol no. I actually that this specific situation is dumb, but I fundamentally disagree with improving burnout in any way. Being burnt out and close to the corner means you goofed up majorly earlier in the match. Hold that lol

Refunding more meter during supers: again lol no. 6 is already extremely generous with drive gauge the is 0 reason it needs to be upped even more

Damn, then call it something else. They are setting themselves up for failure.

I think Charger is pretty damn good name for an EV lol.

Joking aside, it’s all but confirmed it’ll have both an EV or TT I6 powertrain. Not sure how popular it’ll be but If it does flop I’ll happily buy one at a discount.

  12. Cool video on the new GR Yaris. Not available here in the USA but theoretically a lot of these changes should make it to the GR Corolla. New torque converter auto, more driver centric interior, revised diff (read: shouldn’t overheat anymore), and a couple other changes.

(Finally) a good look at the new pre-production Charger. Gorgeous front but that rear is funny looking imo. Also lol at most of the comments being “lol no V8”.

LOL and Daigo and the Ken army trying to say Ken ain't even top 5.

    Fuck outta here...

Funny enough the thing that broke my drive to play SF6…a week before (iirc) my last tournament I was training in ranked and at one point I had fought Ken like 8 matches in a row. Then at the tournament  my last 3 matches were JP>Ken>Ken.

That was last week of September and according to Steam I haven’t played the game since lol. I really miss Manon but then I watch footage of SF6 or remember my last experience with the game and I don’t play. My last go broke me mentally.
