Here's some really simple and effective ways to counter Kimberly's drop  hop kick , grab and hop kick into grab as well as her flip counter.  Have some decent reactions and should be okay , also if your character has an air grab you are set.

On to some silly stuff. My daughter wanted to play Street Fighter today.  Wife, daughter and I all sat around playing Alpha 2 because it has Sakura. After a few games, i moved her over to SF5 so she could see other female characters.  Told her about Poison and how she fights with a whip. Poison was really hype for her (she went with the pinstripe suit outfit).

Then it was time for the surprise. Tell her that I'm gonna pick a character but she has to read the character's name. Go to character select screen and pick Laura. She goes over,  reads it and her brain sort of shorts out. She couldn't believe that the character had her name. Instead she thought I played a trick on her. The trick was that I somehow put her name on a Street Fighter character. Had to look up a youtube vid to show her that it was indeed the name of the character.

    Pretty hype TBH.

Also showed my wife and daughter what Chun looks like in SF6. Daughter say it and instantly said:

Juri is a sadistic  thrill seeker that takes great pleasure in destroying her enemies and Ryu is a proud and well mannered world traveler that seeks to improve his strength and master the power of nothingness. When these two meet, it's gonna be one hell of  a show  ( SF 4 announcer voice )  !!!!

This motivated me to do this gif.

Real talk, training mode in SF 6 seems to be on another level as you can see below 🤣

Yeah this seems like some panic shit to me. SF4 and 5 both released in February. And SF6's beta felt more complete than SFV's final fucking version. There's no way this shit is releasing post June lmao

My favorite thing about this game is the meter management. You can easily go crazy, but then you have to worry about being burnt out. And Drive Rush is looking pretty good after seeing no one really use it outside of cancelling stuff.

Well, the beta has been  cracked and it works pretty ok-ish for basically being run via some plugins and scripts a bit annoying to get it running but once you do it's pretty straight forward to boot it up and go in training.  I spent a few good hours on it in training and vs max lvl CPU  and some of my thoughts are :

The game does not feel heavy at all like so many said, i find it rather smooth and pretty fast paced It feels like there is a huge cancel window on a lot of buttons Juri got combos for days and good normals, basically anything connects and has good priority ,she can loop via store cancels and ex store in between pretty consistent . I have yet to find a use for her target combo since you can go for higher damage combos or end it in a store for utility, so you better off not using it in my opinion. Her DP connects from basically anything max range like her st.lk or cr.mk .She definitely looking FAR better than she was  when she joined SFV.  I have not seen it mentioned by pretty much nobody but she has multiple ways to chain her ex  stores. She can cancel ex  heavy into medium two ways, one of them gives Juri a ground bounce if canceled late and if you cancel the EX earlier, mid travel the opponent remains grounded but you can cancel into a normal then go into FSE for example, into pretty much anything else after.  Over all nice, i am far more pleased with how she is shaping up to be compared to V. She remains pretty big brain and requires situational awareness though but they streamlined how she gets her stores now, much more accessible and for once her toolkit seems to work well with the game's mechanics. Guile is really good. I don't play charge characters and i was getting the just frame booms and flash kicks almost always.I think Guile mains are eating good for Season 1,his V-skill 1 looking move is pretty wild ,especially the medium one that has ok startup and stays on the screen a lot, his EX one costs bar but you can control so much space with that thing lingering on screen so he can use it as a shield. Ryu and Ken  got a few changes but it's still mostly the same things you would expect from them .They are fun though and pump out a lot of damage, probably the most popular characters again when the game launches. Chun probably the character with most changes from the returning cast. Bunch of her stuff looks weird but she can pull out nice stuff from stance cancels and they gave her really easy to use tools for beginners as well, her anti air basically  down down kicks always hits it's target and really simple to react with, there's no way you jump in on her if the player is even half decent.  Kimberly  is basically the online character from this particular build.Expect people to full screen teleport and run into slide you non stop in the first months. But she seems to have a lot of gaps in almost everything she does,so if your reaction are good, have at it. Luke is mostly the same character ported over from V with a few changes. Haven't used him as much but he seems solid enough i suppose .His fireball still mad annoying to deal with. Jamie got a bunch of good tools that are locked behind drink levels but one has to wonder if they are gonna make drink levels go down or make them harder to get because a lot of his stuff can be ended in drink, i found it really easy to get lvl 4. People said he has problems vs zoning, i only got to play vs CPU but could be true. His ex cmd grab is mad annoying, it's Yun / Yang levels of cheapness but i guess it's intended since they are related. I'll be hitting some more training mode when i got time. Now release a new beta with Manon so i can see how my alt will play as well, also show Cammy.

Before we moved off GoT, since I was at work and unable to post, I just want to say my biggest gripe with the show is how they ended Jaime Lannister's story.

Jaime in the books is my favorite fictional character in any story, book or film. The tale of a man who has been reviled throughout the realm for fifteen years and embraced it as his fate, loses his entire identity through his disfigurement. He then decides to find and restore his honor, not to impress anyone, but just for himself, and breaks away from his harmful family to  see if he can actually bring some order and justice to the world for once.

In the show, I enjoyed the performance by the actor the whole way through, but it really seems like the writers really gave up on his character after they ran out of source material. His story in books 3-5 is so internal and thoughtful that it seems like they just couldn't be bothered in seasons 6-8. They just completely undid his development and reverted him back to where he started, except with a more sympathetic perspective. The way his story ended in season 8 was absolutely pathetic.

Anyway. Hope there's a new Street Fighter trailer soon.

Ah, I thought everyone knew about at this point. Jon Snow was Ned's nephew not his son. He promised his sister on her deathbed that he'd look after him. Ned told no one about it. Not even his wife. She was shitty to Jon Snow for no reason.  His best friend King Robert, was engaged to his sister, he couldn't tell him.

The whole fall out from the original Game of Thrones series happened because of a lie. It was believed that Rhaegar kidnapped and raped Lyanna. That wasn't the case. Rhaegar had his marriage annulled.  Then married Lyanna and they ran off together. Since no one knew that the whole sequence of events that lead to the overthrowing of the Targaryen's happened.

The irony is that Rhaegar was next in line to be king. So Lyanna would have been queen and Jon (Aegon) would have been crown prince. Since he annulled his first marriage his two children from it would have been considered bastards. So there would have ended up being a war anyway. I don't think Dorn would have stood for him Rhaegar ditching his first wife like that. Robert wouldn't have been happy that his fiance' ditched him for Rhaegar. It would have been bedlam.

Side note: I really hope that George R.R. Martin doesn't say Jon's really name is Aegon in the books. Seriously man...no more Aegons.

Edit: @DaemosOh Daenerys didn't care. Such things were  par for the course for Targaryens. Jon did though. He was more like Ned than any of his sons. He inherited that sense of honor.

My issue with the Daenerys situation is the issue I had with Season 8 on the whole. Things happened too fast. Daenerys going off the rails hinted at throughout the series. He father was called the Mad King because he went off the rails and started burning people of alive. Her decent into madness was supposed to be a slow burn. GoT should have been 10 seasons like HBO wanted. The showrunners wanted 6 and they compromised. I can't imagine how much worse it would have been if they got their way. The show runners thought they were getting a Star Wars bag from Disney and wanted GoT over ASAP. Karma got them in the end because after GoT Season 8, Disney shit canned them from their Star Wars project due to it's poor quality and reception. It's like trashing your current job because you have a new one lined up and the new job falling through after you already quit.

New render that i did of Juri in her SF5 model with SF6 look

Her SF 6 model that i managed to export , though still working on texturing it ( haven't managed to extract all the files yet , it has a lot of texture types, model quality is insanely higher than SF5 models , but i'm getting there ) . But i have started to rig with some mixed results while testing small animations with it.

It isn't that simple at all. A manufacturer could do that, but that'd be a whole lot of equipment that you'd then have to sell as used. Laptops also don't really scale well on top of us not knowing what the input delay on the innate laptop monitors are.  So then you'd need the laptop (which is going to be north of 800 dollars) plus the equipment to keep it cool,  and then a higher grade monitor to run at w/e hz is it that people want. That's an easy 1,200 before you buy the games.

What this is also going to do is completely and entirely fuck up locals. Because now, as much money as you need to run even small brackets smoothly and conveniently, you're going to incredibly up the price. The moment you start doing this shit at majors, suddenly dudes are going to start shitting on people hosting locals for not doing the same shit.

Then you get to the "we are giving this the best performance possible". Bro, you are modding the shit out of the game to run way faster than it does anywhere else. Its kinda crazy that before we had a big ol argument about how the game ran in arcade and whether a frame slower (ps3) or frame faster (360) was the better alternative. Now its "well Imma make this game run fucking crazy because its what the FGC deserves".

I kinda get it, but what Arturo is actually doing is creating a standard for certain tournaments that can't be replicated easily in most places. This means that if you want to compete at an even level, you gotta call up Art, ask him how to set up your stuff exactly like he has to be able to practice properly. Everybody else? You are absolutely assed out.

This isn't really a meme situation of "well sponsors fix everything".

    then there's this shit:

Yeah ,its totally politics why, for a relatively small amount of money, I was able to get enough equipment to run good tournaments.  so getting a bunch of low input lag monitors and some Ps4s I can instead buy 1K laptops.

Yeah sure, Sony TOTALLY is what stopped me from doing everything for PC.
