To be fair, there was a hipster culture boom. 5 to 10 years ago.
It coincided with the boom of nerd geek culture.
 
And knowing human nature, is very likely a lot of people latched to it as a way to make themselves feel special and base their identity around it.
 
It certainly became overused, since people called anyone having a contrarian opinion, or an opinion that wasn't mainstream hipster.
 
It was funny to see people call hipster on certain metal forums, just because you preferred more "obscure" bands than the ones that the forum favored.
Not so common on forums like metallum, but more common on the "boomer" forums, where the bands talked are mostly the old school mainstream bands.
Or on SRK, being called hipster because you liked more games from other companies rather than the capcom ones, lol.
 
Saying that, I want to think that part of the overuse was people using it in jest.
Since specially on online communities that are text based is more difficult to gauge the intent and tone at times.
 
I know that between me and my siblings and cousins we called each other jokingly hipsters at times, since many of us have less mainstream tastes in music and movies, so is not outside the realm of possibilities that part of the overuse was because of that.
 

@MillionXIt would be nice to have Presidential candidates in their 40s and 50s gain. If you divided Biden and Trumps ages by three in 2020, you'd get 50. I respect the wisdom of age but damn man. Not only do you need to be mentally sharp but you have to have a lot of energy for the job.

Being slim doesn't necessarily equal being healthy, and Biden just comes across as frail and with a clouded mind. Someone could have a heart attack but still be of sound mind, and that's more important for a job like president than being able to run a marathon but not knowing what year you're in.
 
That said, no way Trump has a chance. The era of non-elite sanctioned candidates is over, safe to say. Even if Trump were to run a convincing campaign, there's no way they'd let him back into the White House.

Thankfully Hollywood aren't architects because their "throw the blueprint out, I can do better" mentality keeps failing and they keep doing it. Skyscrapers would be blowing over at the first brisk wind....if they got built at all.

Yup, just another wasted opportunity and another show driven into the ground by retards.  Really as much as these people get paid you'd think they could deliver a decent product.  I can't imagine fucking up that much and getting to keep getting put in charge or projects.

The term "woke" has almost no meaning at this point. It's word people can throw in the title of a social media post or Youtube video to get instant traffic from people that either love or hate what they think it means. This is what usually happens to a term. It starts getting slapped on anything someone doesn't like so it becomes worthless. 

I saw exactly this happen with a few people prior and post release. As for the Mario movie itself. It gave people what they wanted. That's the biggest issue with Hollywood. They treat appealing to fans like it's a bad thing. You see it in all the critic reviews. If it's not "deconstructing" the IP. They destroy it. Deconstructing has just become a lazy hacks way of using an existing IP as vehicle for their ideas at this point. Its not a uncommon or unique occurrence. Maybe it's because of a lack of competition.
 
For all my issues with modern gaming, the large number of developers means that usually someone provides what I want. For personal example, I wanted a FF Tactics style RPG a few years back. No major developers had one, but an indie developer put out Fell Seal: Arbiters Mark. The game hit the mark for what I wanted.

You got it wrong, the argument is that it succeeded because it wasn't woke, just a movie interested in entertain and give the fans what they wanted.
The same argument used when talking about why movies like John Wick 4, Top gun Maverick, Sonic, etc.

And with the dlc you have the option to either reciprocate or tell her nah fam you smelly.
