I suddenly want Remedy to do a Matrix game.

I did like that bow whipping move he had if you held R1. It was like he was whipping someone with a belt. You could almost hear him saying:

Ragnarok had its issues, but I loved it. I have to get into Elden Ring though; I've only played it a total of 1hr. Is there a good getting started guide out there the doesn't spoil much in terms of story or quest?

I finished God of War last night. I hadn't really come in here much because I saw people making posts about finishing it and it was way before I did so I didn't want to read anything that spoiled it.
 
Man oh man what an incredible awesome ride it was. Even the way the credits are done after you finish the main mission you can just tell the love that is poured into the game. And then after you beat it there are new missions that open up and after you complete one of em, you get the "real" credits with some awesome music. The climax of the game is like one of the best I can remember and lasts a long time. The last like 4-5 hours of the game are just non-stop action and the battles you encounter as well as the scenery and environments are just unreal. This and Elden Ring are definitely my favorite games of this past year. It's hard to say which I enjoyed more since they are just so different. One has this incredible story with very cinematic story telling, and one I couldn't tell you wtf the story is even about or anyone's name lol.
 
I would say I did have a few gripes with the game.
 
1. The Atreus parts were just tedius for the most part. I get that the point of them are mainly just to move the story along, but they dragged on a lot IMO, especially the first "long" one where you are basically doing chores and moving at a snails pace. It just dragged on way too long. Then when you get to Asgard for the first time I thought again it dragged on way too long, but I get that it was for story purposes.
 
2. The damn map. I hate the damn map in this game. I have how the circle with the direction isn't where you are - you are the dot BELOW it. It's just so confusing and I never got used to it, and the map just didn't feel to scale or something. I found it very hard to use the map and navigate how to get to some places based on trying to follow the map. I also wish you could drop way points or something to help you know where you have already been. It also is completely useless when you are underground or inside a mountain for instance.
 
3. Mystic gates - I just wish there were more of them on some realms. In some realms there just aren't enough of them and wasting time back tracking to spots when the map isn't very helpful, is just tedious and wasn't fun. For example there is an area east of Freyr's Camp that I was missing some stuff so I had to go back there and it just took forever to get there. Last night when I cut it off I am stuck inside one of the mountains on one of the realms and basically lost and not sure how the hell to get where I'm going. I know where I'm going I've been before since I see some stuff on the map, but I don't even remember going there since it was earlier in the game.
 
Again though, overall I loved the whole game and those are just some little gripes I had after putting 40+ hours into the game. Amazing experience.

Uhh...brand new game announcement and Bayo 3 is on the screen...WHAT IS HAPPENING!?  Bayonetta Origins?  Ok so this is not an action based game.   This looks like it takes place in the past and follows Cereza.  Top down action adventure type game.  Subtitled is Cereza and the Lost Demon.  Coming March 17th.

Finally down to the last two bosses in God of War. Once I leveled up my gear, this boss battle to unlock another boss was much easier. I’m still tempted to 100% this game and have it be my first platinum trophy, but starting Sonic is getting very tempting. Then, there’s still Witcher Blood and Wine once the update comes out.

That's funny I found her attitude 
to be obnoxious in the first half of Zero Dawn with her shitty come backs and self indulgent ego stroking. Ross had her pegged right from jump in that game. She's super selfish. 
 
Didn't feel the same at all in 2, any time she was short with someone it was because she's busy or there just flat out isn't time to explain shit they won't understand anyway. 
 
Don't really see how that aligns with her physical attractiveness anyway, it's not like she wasn't short tempered and snappy when she was "attractive" before. 

She's definitely a little chunkier in the face but she's not even remotely ugly and I feel bad for some of yalls ladies if you think Aloy suddenly is. Hope your girl don't ever gain a couple lbs. 
 
I think the statement they put out about it was really badly worded. She's not uglier, she just looks less like a super model and more like someone who actually lives in "The Wild." She's not gonna be a 120lb waif with perfect weight proportions, she eats what she can find, shes not on the Marvel diet. So she's gonna be a bit heavy with muscle all over her body, including her face and it's gonna make her look a bit heavy because muscle is bulky and weighs a lot. 
 
Like the decision makes perfect sense with the life she leads.

Yea I generally break it down by genre as I like too many games across too many genres to really narrow it down, like what I'm in love with can change from day to day. With that said I go back to a few things rather regularly.

FF7 & 9
Devil May Cry 1
The Souls games. 
 
That's what comes to mind right now, mostly stuff I grew up with. Like it's just so impossible to narrow down anymore imo, I didn't even list the Arkham games for example. 
 
Edit: Also didn't list any Shmups which is a near impossible category for me in the first place. I don't know own how to list one singular favorite when Armed Police Batrider and Ibara exist. Radiant Silvergun & Ikaruga. Crimzon fucking Clover. 

Holy shit I was watching the Super Mario Kart episode of Game Historian and was reading the comments and someone mentioned Sami Cetin being the worlds best SMK player, so I searched youtube for him.

As my Diablo addiction goes into insane ocd territory yet again... it had me wondering if you guys have a top pick for "favorite game of all time".....OR do you prefer to break that up by genres, like favorite fighter, greatest shootemup, greatest side-scrolling action game, etc.?  Currently, I still prefer to just consider it by genres, but if I had to pick one... Diablo 3 is indeed a front-runner for me at the moment....  there's others that always come to mind as the contenders for that "Overall" top spot of course --- the way I've gone on and on forever rambling about them over the years, it's still the usual list: Bayonetta, Kingdoms of Amalur, Viewtiful Joe, Unreal Championship 2, Phantasy Star Online, and the newest to my elite ranks---Elden Ring (I still have so many more things I want to do in that one as well).  Other strong notables would be Quake 3, Blood Omen, the Doom games, Vampyr and the Saint's Row franchise.  Each of them are games that checked multiple boxes for me as being far more entertaining than anything else I've ever played.

Beat the main story of God of War last night. Probably my favorite game this year. I haven’t 100% the game and after hearing about some of the optional bosses, I may just finish the story side quests and move onto another game.

By this point I am only 2 battles away for the Platinum plus some minor trophies that are not hard to get (some collectibles and fully upgrade an armor set)
At the end I brute forced my way, but it was still utter BS.
I would be surprised if they don't patch it (not that it helps me since I already suffered it, lol).
 
For what I read the 2 upcoming battles are almost as BS as the one in my previous post, so I am not really looking to the "enjoyment" of playing them.
I tested the battles to see how they are, but is clear that the game expects me to have my equipment at full level to be on a "even" field (I have not fully upgraded one pummel and one shield in my build), but for what I read they are still a chore to play.
