Angel, if you see this message, thank you for reaching out on discord even though the banned issue is permanent, I guess. Please keep in mind that I don't know much about discord, hence why I hardly use it. I can't believe you had to ban users under the same username impersonating me. That's really sad.

Yeah I used to post at Unity. I stopped a while before the shutdown though. If you see someone named Darc Requiem. It's more than likely me.

Years of baby steps. Having an original template and standard to the genre from games like Street Fighter 2 and Virtua Fighter, can help you open doors to their respectful dimensions on games that came after.

I'm not actually competitively driven for the wrong reasons anymore. So, it's more like restarting over, revising myself on a better solution to play fighting games.

Hard enough to get where you desire to be, yes. Brute force, character matches, over priority are what made it unique for it's time. Another game I've eventually used random select in. My experience on getting where I needed to be was through long sessions in the arcades and tournaments in early 2000. I've surprisingly became so much better later down the line with the launch of Tekken 6/Tekken Tag 2. I need to revisit other fighting games as well.

I just happened to become better in the genre, because I've originally started the genre in the early 1990s, due to escapism of my personal problems by not willing to face them. So, I guess it unintentionally worked out for me.

I played Valle on 3S twice. I got destroyed the first time, then won 5-0 the second time many months later. I'm sure he will beat me again with more practice. Also beat Gibkram 3-2 yesterday.

Perhaps we can add each other, on PS5 at the very least, when I buy one down the line. I'm indiscriminate of skill/experience level. You sound like someone that I could enjoy the company with in fighting games and that's all that matters.

    Good.

We will someday. I want to make an effort to get involved with this community again.

I wonder how Emerald Lord, Tongari Dan, and Nerd Josh is doing, after all these years after having good memories of them versus me in SF4? I should build more memories like that. I haven't played Calipower since Street Fighter 3 and Capcom vs Snk 2, so I wonder how he's doing as well? Very competitive and versatile person he was.

Wow. Impressive. I can only play two characters and I don't think I am that good with them. When I play ranked match I am often matched against C to A+ and I tend to beat them. I have to no idea how ranking works. I don't really know what the points mean.  I remember there was this Grand Master who used Ken who was from South Korea that kept on challenging me. I'm not sure if we were the same level or not, but he kept on beating me. I challenged anybody and anybody challenged me.

Super Street Fighter 4 was great.

It marked the return of T. Hawk, who turned out to be the least SF4-ish SF4 character by a country mile.

I dropped Cammy, pocketed a Guile, and went ahead and mained yolo mind game reads for days.

I think people were boosting me to much at the time, where it become overwhelming for me. A little modesty can go a long way, because being self-absorbed can make you lose sight of what's important.

Fei Long was my main character at one point, but I've gotten around having my feel with all of the characters. So, I've dropped Fei Long at the time and used random select.

Not that it matters, but my win ratio was around 92 percent in Vanilla and 95 percent in Super. You can imagine how bored I was at first from winning, but that's the point. You should always find people who are better than you.

Good one. I wish that Cell would be resurrected in some way, but there is Dragon Ball Heroes anime for that. They tend to show episodes every month. Cell was definitely my favorite villain.

There could be a chance in rank or I've had you on my friends list at one point. I've had roughly around 50 players on my list at the time from this game. I do thank them for their time.

I remember in Super Street Fighter 4, some of them eventually caught up with me during it's release. I was proud of them. I've never liked winning too much, because that neglects the progress in my opinion.

Hm. I remember during the original Street Fighter 4 era, people were concluding that Fei Long was low tier on Capcom Unity and SRK, something to the extent. It's ironic when I have used him and grew in the process, I've gained a following back then on Capcom Unity. Lux on SRK, was referencing new people to me in order to learn the character and various characters that I've learned. Lux was an exceptional player to my recollection, as we grown accustomed to the engine where we comfortable enough to use random select through the session, which the session outcome was almost equal. Though, reflecting on my time with him, I've felt he was a little bit better than me. There is only one person here I potentially remember on Capcom Unity.

Anyway, on tiers. While I believe there will always be more reliable characters than others, I believe that people are too fixated on winning rather than having fun. In a competitive setting, I believe no one ever had the answer.

Back when I was a teen they were the Poser Goth/Metal Head Clothing store.
As back then Goths shop at thrift stores and collect band shirts from concerts.

Then they became "legit" as bands sold out.

Now they are now known more for Vinyl Pop figures and dumb shit than clothing.
They become a cheaper, lamer version of spencers gifts.

    http://segabits.com/blog/2021/03/17/yu-suzuki-and-namcos-katsuhiro-harada-talk-virtua-fighter-6-cancelled-tekken-dreamcast-title-and-tekken-x-virtua-fighter/?fbclid=IwAR2z5cCLC4BOX97MqqcnkK4OUQCEBTfpW5--ZxOHZpSBraeclEFDj-tK_yM

Yesterday the Japanese video game news site Denfaminico Gamer held an interview with SEGA-AM2 legendary arcade designer Yu Suzuki (Virtua Fighter), Tekken’s Katsuhiro Harada and Arc System Works’ Toshimichi Mori where they talked about the histories of their franchises that included Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Guilty Gear and Blazblue. There was also some talk about the possibility of creating Virtua Fighter 6!

The important bits of the interview were taken from @gosokkyu twitter account, who translates Japanese gaming news. If you like Japanese games, I suggest you give the account a follow.

According to Yu Suzuki, if he ever created a Virtua Fighter 6 he would want to simplify and improve the controls and interfaces further. According to Yu Suzuki, he prefers the players to be focused on tactics instead of mastering inputs. Yu thinks this would broaden the user base. This is something that a lot of other game studios are playing with now and has the community mixed. For example Riot Games is working on a fighting game with no inputs, but uses ‘cool down’ mechanics for powerful moves.

Harada also complained about how he gets consistent request from fighting game fans on twitter (hey, that’s us) about a new Virtua Fighter because SEGA never attends these fighting game events ; so all fans seem to direct their request to him. He even mentioned that a lot of fans are requesting a Tekken x Virtua Fighter crossover, if that’s what it takes to get a new Virtua Fighter.

During the interview Harada also brings up something he talked on twitter about before, a deal Namco had floating around at management level where Namco would have added Virtua Fighter characters into a potential Dreamcast Tekken title, which never happened.

At the end of the interview, the interviewer ask Yu Suzuki and Katsuhiro Harada to go to SEGA and request they both make Virtua Fighter 6, with Yu Suzuki responding, “If you need me, just say the word.”

Surprised that the interviewer didn’t even ask Yu Suzuki what he thought of SEGA’s announcement for Virtua Fighter x eSports.  I guess we really don’t know what that project is, so there isn’t much to discuss.

(Yu Suzuki isn’t at SEGA and works independent, the comment that they will ask SEGA to make Virtua Fighter 6 is from a outsiders preceptive.)

Thoughts from any Virtua Fighter fans here?

I don't think they should be dehumanized, but urgent help is needed for them to manage their case. Not many are willing to admit it through a professional, which dealing with it alone as I imagine is tragic for them, because of the perceived risks of getting reported.  Thoughts are one thing, but to act on it is where the line should be drawn.
