I know fans and marketing loves the idea of Ryu x Chun Li, but if we speak SF canon if he's doing anything on that side my money is still on him throwing dick-shin-shoryukens in Sakura

Actually would not be surprised if Chun made him buy that jacket to go to a date with Sakura, considering the jacket got cherry blossom (sakura) decoration

It's fun how others look up to Ryu to solve big things like uppercut the villain, yet his friends take care of him for normal life things... Ken handling his money, Chun giving suggestion on how to dress etc

This post end up underrated, bring new perspective if end up ingame

I'm of the opinion that, if they come together, everyone will be happy!  As I saw a designer (who unfortunately disappeared from Twitter) I like doing, putting RyuxKen and RyuxChun-Li together! 😌

However, to be honest, as much as I know about Ryu's friendship with Chun-Li, it's hard not to think of anything else with what Capcom has done. Sakura was left out. 🤷‍♀️

Download is live, and Ed is available for offline Story Peeps!

Chun-Li to Ed: "If you want Shadaloo out of your life, then I’ll help. You can trust me."

Thoughts: Compared to Chun's quote to Ed in SFV, "You were a member of Shadaloo? Are they still active?", I feel Chun has grown a lot more trusting and open in her mature years. I think what I find most interesting about this quote in particular is that Chun-Li offers to help, but doesn't necessarily offer herself to actively seek and fight off remaining Shadaloo remnants.

I think the kind of help she's offering could range from shelter and safe haven in her own Chinatown community, or maybe she could refer them to Cammy and how she's helped the dolls achieve somewhat of a normal life post-ASF.  I think this is a good quote for her, fits with her character. And it fits with how I'd imagine Chun and Ed were to interact if they were to meet in canon.

I do find it interesting if Ed were indeed to become Bison's successor. With all the pain and hurt Bison and Shadaloo has caused CHun-Li in the past, I wonder how hostile she'd be if Ed were to turn to the dark side. Or if she'd still be compassionate for him, knowing that Ed and M. Bison are two different entities, and Ed's fighting off M. Bison just as hard.

Ed to Chun-Li"I’m sure you’re enjoying the slow life, but there’s still work to do out there."

Thoughts: Interestingly enough, this takes me back to Chun-Li's SF6 story mode, where Juri teases Chun-Li that despite M. Bison's death, the danger threat still looms. Most likely, both are refering to the remnants of Shadaloo, and how they are trying to bring the syndicate back, but with a new host with Ed. I think Ed says this to Chun as a warning that eventually, the remnants will grow stronger, or Ed's body can no longer fight off the psycho power in him, allowing M. Bison to fully take over.

I think as this relates to Chun's quote, I think Chun is content with her new life in Metro City for now. It is a semi-retirement anyways. And while things are still calm, there is no reason for her to put herself in harms way, especially when she has her community and Li-Fen to take care of. But I'm interested in seeing what develops.

Me too. Because of this artwork:

It's a Neo Shadaloo uniform in Chun-Li. Despite having been rejected, as some rejected costumes have served as inspiration for others, apparently. I wonder if this will be a reality.

After all origin of Bison's Psycho Power was being a Soul Power master that got corrupted... so maybe Ed being a Bison clone (so starting from the base that still was'nt corrupted) may natural develop Soul Power type of ki?

I remember that japaneses books, Bison learn Psycho Power with his master (and Bison killed him) not Soul Power.

An Ed isn't a clone, he's a boy kidnapped and experimented on it using Bison DNA.

We should  remember Bison whole immortality is based entirely on Psycho Power

I'm not sure on Ed effect would be the same because Ed is still a living being and "positive ki" in theory should not harm him

He's not even powered by negative emotions, simply Bison added artificially Psycho Power to Ed's special body (as we know Bison gave to the 4 Neo Shadaloo chars 1 "gift" each)

If i understood correctly nature of Ed's body is simply that its special trait is that could host Psycho Power without be affected by faster aging or corrupted (wich happen to normal Bison shell bodies) but does'nt need it

Though i admit Ed "dying" could be an interesting trait to the char considering how pale and less healthy he looks in SF6, would kinda remind SFV Nash vibes, these doomed/cursed destiny characters are cool

But offering different perspective, maybe Ed special body is'nt 100% immune to Psycho Power but just less affected, so in long run (considering SF6 timeskip) maybe it's body is still being poisoned like a cancer by Psycho Power and he learned Soul Power as some sort of cure, to heal or at least slow it down... would be interesting twist

I think that "dark vibe" is the fact of Bison is trying posses him in his dreams. The game makes it clear that Bison may have users of Psycho Power (and even Soul Power, as is implied at the end of Menat in SF V). So much so that JP HATES sleep.

Doing some googling, the rumors appear for Ed to be released Jan 26th, with a reveal next weekend at the final CPT event.

The timeline definitely makes sense, and if you look on their calendar at the bottom of this page, they have a "new product release" on the 26th.  The earlier one in the month that that crossover crap.

Finally a clue... I'm very anxious for Ed, he's one my favorite characters.

Thank you so very much for the dolls answer!

And then it is Rena on the second picture after all... Since when she's a ninja? Although beeing a dayghter of a Bushinryu grandmaster gives you some skills for sure. But not enogh to not beeing captured in Final Fight 1 😉

I think after Final Fight 2, in UDON's universe, she's learning bushinryu (similar to Yuri Sakazaki in Art of Fighting 2).

@Miðgarðsorm, thank you so very much! Amazingly interesting!

More questions: can you identify the dolls here, please?

And the two girls in the upper left corner here:

They are Apprentice Dolls. The three behind Seth  are Low-Rank Dolls. They first appeared in pachinko Chun-Li ni Makase China. The white hair doll is a Mid-Rank Doll and another Doll is High-Rank Doll. More about them:

And the three girls are Rena, Guy's fiancée, and Maki, her sister, from Final Fight 2 and Sarai Kurosawa, Ibuki's friend..

As @BornWinneralready linked Ryoredcyclone's Twitter post detailing that,

勝負あり Shōbu ari (far right, Honda's left shoulder): "victory" in Classical Japanese (literally, "the match is set"). The same writing was flashed in the background of Honda's SF2 stage.
    Hondasf2Shobuari.jpg

日本一 Nippon ichi (or Nihon ichi; second right, Honda's back), "Best in Japan". Incidentally, it's the same catchphrase Mai Shiranui says during her winpose since Fatal Fury 2.

大一番 Ōichiban (second left, Honda's right shoulder), "The great first". The decisive match in sumō to determine the championship.

満員御礼 Man'in onrei (far left, Honda's left side), "Thanks for the full house". Banners with this writing are shown at sumō tournaments when the house is indeed full.

    Ryogokumanin.jpg

大入 Ōiri (Honda's shirt), "large attendance". The same writing was shown on the red lantern in the background of Honda's SF2 stage.

    HodansF2OIRI.jpg

Oh, thank you so much! It's the first time I watch the opening!

There's no laurel wreath there that I can see.  That's just the owl's tailfeathers.

Anyway, if Bosch is any indication, Neo Shadaloo isn't much more positive than OG Shadaloo.

    The laurel wreath:

Owls are symbols of  wisdom. However, I don't doubt Ed makes some bad decisions.
