I realize how slow I am...Million was mentioning 5x in Gears 4...fired up Horde...yep leveling up my skills to max is now a breeze.

well... I'm guessing that other forum will never improve.  I keep going back but it's only for the general video games/E3 threads....such a damn downgrade over there; it's like if your PS4 Pro got magically transformed into an Atari 5200....not the 2600 or 7800 most people might remember.....the goddamn 5200.  It's that bad....that much of a drop in quality.
 
On another note....Gears 4 has a 5x EXP boost going on this week...in celebration of their Gears 5 announcement, of course.  Hell YES.  I did just one session of Horde and my Heavy character went from a fresh level 8 right up to 10!  Yeah, the leveling is normally so unbearably slow that this was actually a surprise to go up the last 2 levels that fast....it wasn't even a full run..everyone quit by wave 30.  It should be easy to get my Scout and Engineers to 10 then.  My old friend needs to hurry the hell up and finish the story; I told him the trailer was out for part 5 as of today, but then remembered and had to tell him that it of course includes a mild spoiler for part 4.

heh, I have a certain friend who really wanted to do the live-streaming thing as a living.... but for some reason I think laziness (*admittedly that's just my speculation; could be wrong) took over and he never kept at it.  This is actually good because he probably never would have become a success at it.  At most it would be like 2 or 3 people tuning in.....haha and of course 1 of that 2 or 3-person audience would be me.  Good thing for me is that he would likely have tried to get me to be a chat-mod or something if he did manage to get a real audience, and I don't really have the time or interest in doing that.  It is strange that he stopped though, since he had the perfect schedule to do the whole game-streaming thing... barely any hours at his actual job at the time, so he was home and online literally every day for most of the day.
 
but sheeeeeit, if Twitch was around back when I was in high school or early college years I definitely would've tried it too.  I'm guessing my show would be mildly successful, actually....as I'd go for more of a "raw", shock-jock sort of thing.... basically being the gaming persona equivalent of a Howard Stern or Tom Leykis.

oh, they finally made it to Dio's layer?  ACTUAL progress on this damn show?!?  I may start watching again if that's the case.  Last time I bothered to watch an episode was a few months ago....got tired of it being a "Stand User of the Day" sort of thing, with an awesome main villain who just sits wayyyyyyy in the background, seemingly forgotten by the goddamn writers. 

ah, exactly what I was fearing with Anthem... no offline... so more than likely, that probably just killed my interest right there.  Most other gamers at this point are ok with this shit but it just never sits right with me, man... anytime it's online only, that means you don't *really* have that shit.  There will come a day in the near future where you CANNOT play it anymore, so it's really just an extended rental.  I like the simple notion that I can play the damn game I have at some point 10 years from now if I want.  This is one of the things that turned me off from Destiny (besides, Division also didn't have enough wild supernatural/sci-fi shit for my tastes..."Regular People Shooting Each Other" will always be incredibly boring for games, imo), actually.....AND The Division.  There's no words to fully convey how much it irritates me that this bullshit is becoming the goddamn "new normal" in this shit-headed industry.  Yeah I'm absolutely in grumpy old man mode here...fuck all that stupid horseshit, man.  If the very concept itself was a person, I'd have no problems skinning that son of a bitch alive and stabbing its eyes out.  How long until shit like a newly updated PACMAN is "Online-Only"? Humanity enters a golden age, expands across the stars, then gets into a fight with its AI slaves and civilization is nearly wiped out.  The emperor, who has been silently guiding humanity since the beginning of recorded history, decides to stop pretending to be Jesus/Santa Claus/whoever he has been masquerading as throughout history and reveal himself to the rest of the world.  He decides humanity has been fucking up for way too long and he might as well just lead us himself.
 
He creates 18 sons from his DNA who in turn lead 18 armies of Space Marines.  They bring peace and prosperity back to humanity before half of his sons become corrupted by Darkness and a civil war nearly wipes out everything again.  The day is saved but not before the emperor is wounded so badly that he's placed on life support basically forever.  He's placed in a special golden casket and while in a coma uses what is left of his psychic power to stop dark gods from breaking through into this dimension.  All of his sons are either killed in the conflict or disappear.  Humanity, now leaderless, drifts aimlessly while trying to combat the monsters/aliens/demons that continue to move in from all sides.
 
It's a pretty neat world/setting.

holy shit I just ran into a "Vulkod" in Vampyr... this dude was like the HULK of vampires, man....he was also 4 levels above me....... it took a while to beat that guy, but I managed to kill him.
 
The "Coagulation" power really came in handy there... it involves blocking the blood flow and causing temporary paralysis.... after the fight I leveled this up so now I can paralyze my enemies for 5 seconds instead of 3.  I've also invested into the "Shadow Veil", and went with the topside skills on the skill tree for that...the damage bonuses are RIDICULOUS with that.... (becoming invisible for a while; attacking from invisibility gives me the damage bonus..you can see the numbers too.... I already did 550 damage to one regular enemy a little while ago; for just the first rank of that effect that is insane.)
 
BRUH... holy shit the revelation that just happened 😮  I had to take a break just now to sit back and reflect on everything that just happened... wow, man... everything about that scene, and the fight I just barely scraped by in....this game, man..  👍

yeah that's another one of the funny things about The Last Jedi fiasco.... Kelly is actually pretty cute, imo... but it looks like they actually tried to make her look terrible with that awful outfit and hairstyle.
 
Well, the countdown to the destruction of my staycation begins; it appears Dad is already on the road....I have numerous 10+ hour conversations/diatribes (and various "assignments"/advice/Life Coaching) to look forward to.  It's like if all the 24-hour cable-news networks merged with a history professor that does multi-hour lectures daily....and became a sentient being in the form of a human; that's my dear ol' Dad. 

I've become increasingly ruthless in Vampyr now... I fed on another citizen, and of course I'm getting much deeper into the story.  The lore they have going on here is DELICIOUS.  
 
*edit---oh yeah, my Mesmerize level went up to 2, finally...so of course this opens up my feeding options a bit more.  I went back and healed some folks at the hospital so that district's status is back to either high serious or stable.  There is one woman from Whitechapel that I dealt with by compelling/mesmerizing her to forget something....the humane alternative to killing her... but that district's condition worsened, and she is now "missing" 🤣
 
As I predicted, this is already one of my favorite games of all time.  It was guaranteed to place high in the elite ranks...simply due to the subject matter.
 
...this makes it all the more annoying that Dad will be on his way to barge in on my little vacation tomorrow. 😒
