Rufus was memorable in just how generally ugly and unappealing that character was....like goddamn I had never seen anything that repulsive at the time in terms of character design.  Yeah there's the occasional goofy joke characters, especially in fighting games....and then there's straight up rancid dogshit designs like that piggy-piggy "My 600 lbs. Life" lookin' dude Rufus.  It's one of the worst I've ever seen, seriously.

It will never end because it isn't an honest discussion. I talked about how much I hated Birdie being fat in SFV. I never got "why does it matter" comment for it. In fact, none of the vitiriol and puerile nonsense came up then. When it comes to male characters you can have real discussion on appearance. The "why does matter crowd " only holds that belief when it comes female characters being made less attractive. If it's an attractive female character they lose their minds. See the absurd Stellar Blade discourse along with the 2B and Bayonetta revisionist history. If it's a male character's appearance the reaction is either crickets or the type of articles that would make them "REEEE" if the subject was female. Hot Ryu wasn't an issue at all and to be clear, it shouldn't be one. So what if people want post thirsty articles or comments about him. There is no consistency at all. While it wasn't perfect, the discussion around BG3 was at least more reasonable. People frothing at the mouth for Astarion weren't bitching about people drooling over Shadowheart. 

It's really annoying how goddamn shitty Microsoft generally is.  It makes things annoying and more difficult than they should be when part of your job involves using these shoddily mammy-made half-ass bullshit like MS Teams and the "Office" garbage ass apps.  ...little shit like why am I having to wait 38 years for a goddamn word to appear on the screen after I typed it?  Or the icon shows up like things are fine but the app window itself isn't there and it is not minimized, etc. etc.  Maybe if the IT industry wasn't apparently run by actual retards and trolls then the shit would function properly more often.  Silly of me to expect things to work properly, I guess.

1.) To be perfectly honest, I don't find it to be a debate as much as disengenous discussion with frequently moving goalposts. 
2.) These discussions only seem to pop with Western developed games. Eastern developed games on the same platforms often using the same game engines don't generate this discussion.
3.) There are changes. Why are there changes is the question. Why does the "why's does matter crowd" toss that mantra aside any time there is an attractive female character? Why does their standards conventially leave out male characters? Especially when it's proven that both men and women prefer attractive characters. Titantic didn't set box office records because Leonardo D'Caprio was an average looking dude.  Attractive female characters are apparently killing women like Hogwart's Legacy was "killing trans people". I guess physical copies of both games are breaking into houses and the blu-ray discs are flying around taking people out like Talec from I Come In Peace

My best friend has been 3D modeling for decades. This situation annoys him more than it does me. He thinks it's being done on purpose. Given his experience and expertise. I'm going to take the his word for it. I've known him for 33 years out of the 44 years I've lived on this Earth. So I'll trust him over some dude on Twitter/X. That aside, I'm thinking of things Quantic Dream did to 10 to 15 years ago. It didn't seem to be a problem for them.  So I'm to believe that more advanced hardware and more mature development tools makes this more difficult? And only for one gender? We got mysognistic development tools now?

Imagine the possibilities in a few years.... who would even need Hollywood studios anymore at that point?  ...I could just direct the almighty AI to create whatever, all specifically catered to your own taste; just off the top of my head here:
The Originals, season 6, Vampire Diaries season 9... a "fixed" version of "Legacies". Automan, with today's special effects. New Silverhawks series. Sectaurs: The Return. (an IP that has absolutely no chance, since I am one of perhaps 35 people in the world that remember it) Unreal Championship Viewtiful Joe Dungeons & Dragons (continuing with the characters from the old 80s cartoon; new adventures) Vampire the Masquerade series Strider Baldur's Gate - the continuing adventures of my characters, of course. ...and of course that's not even getting into any of the original ideas that could become reality according to whatever the user has in mind.  The list goes on and on forever.... effectively making the regular Hollywood tv/movies industry obsolete for me.
 

nah I haven't seen it yet---for one, I don't have Disney and it's only on that, I think(?)  I'm glad they went with a mostly similar look to the old 90s cartoon, of course.  That 90s style is what jumps out as the best/memorable X-men look to me.
