  1. Akuma gets pass but they both are not really as vagabonds as we used to think about them in the 90s and early 2ks

Ryu is now more of a person that engage socially as Akuma too. They are both hygienic, Also Akuma has a sense of fashion and style compare to Ryu. Special case is their training if it took months stay away from society.

They aren't really the hermits they where supposed to anymore unlike Oro. Right now it's just Oro and Necali that seems to be true nomadic characters left.

  2. The big mistake was adding the beard to Ryu and Akuma.

It like Sagat having hair or Kilin like in GT as Vegeta with a Mustache.

Having beards and mustache to fictional characters are more like deliberate character design that you can't remove them because it essential.

Beard and Mustache isnt essential to Akuma and Ryu to emphasize their character or show aging. Aging will always be a bad concept for a fighting game.

I think we’re in the ultimate moneys paw reality with this game. We wanted a feature rich fighting game that had the power to steer the ship and correct SFV’s wrongs. We got that. And in turn our curse is that the suites at Capcom will wallet rape us on literally everything that wasn’t base game. It’s actually wild how the pricing on this game works. I whaled out so hard for SFV.

This is exactly where you are to be quite honest. For a good decade a lot of people, including me, wanted Capcom to cater to casuals and just let me have my features unbothered sicne I don't need much

We has already a taste of that since SFxT DLC and SFV Vanilla release.

Even MVCi the so called MVC-i No-XMEN is already a hint. I don't even think it's Marvel doing or holding back Xmen. I'm not rallying on the thread due to missing Xmen I was on the okay side on the missing Xmen but I knew something is wrong

Marvel Constest of the Champion is constantly getting XMen Character same as other video games together with Spidey. Its just movie license.

This is why I always think the idea of Free-to-Play FG is dangerous it's a monetization model. The higher up will always has the last words on this. Once they enter the F2P it will shape the future of game from the game controls, execution, content and the rest of the game modes.

Shaping the experience to favor purchase, Survival mode SF5 Vanila is like that.

Honestly, no clue. After that TMNT fiasco, I have no idea what to expect. Before that I was thinking $3-4, $5 at the most. Now.....

I think they are thinking much on which characters should be make it

Either put some good amount of SF3 (No Sean) and bunch of new character waifus

Or straight up Capcom crossover characters. I had a been thinking is the first batch doesn't lived to the HYPE expectation. I did posting about that before the roster leak.

This is why weren't getting any Darkstalkers Costume or whatsoever inter-company crossover costume like in SF5.

The SF3 characters is the better route along with already SF existing characters

The new characters reception is not bad but it isn't lasting and only waifu are getting that much attention

    Is this worth $150,000?

Its still luck if it had a card expensive card inside

same thing old booster pack prices went up in late 2008

I had a 2 player deck 5th edition that has crappy cards insides that has no value even now and it has one booster pack inside with random cards in it. it was worth 7 usd back then now its like 250 usd online because of maybe because luck.

the chance that the booster pack has something special raises ot value

Hmm...I feel like comparing the difficulty of FGs to other games isn't a helpful conversation. Its like I'm trying to justify whether something is hard based on whether or not something else is also hard.

Both things can be hard to do.

To be honest the only thing I felt alienating and complicated with modern FGs are the idea of frame advantages like plus one or minus one on block thing.

Like its something I need to memorize depending on my match up. too much mental load required. Its like doing math per character againt your character.

I know this thing exist since before but they weren't big deal back in the day.

I dont know the name of some fundamental like zoning in 90s but I'm doing it naturally because its essential to characters gameplan and they are also universal strategy that exist in other 2D games.

We even called footsies as chacha in are place and ticking as judo to label a repetitive strategy

I am bad at execution nowadays but I dont really see the need for too many input easy mode variation. SF4 and UMVC execution are fine even early SF2 games I dont know why the idea of modern casual is that its still execution? QCF problem?

I think what makes things bad in FGs today is too much to need to memorize against a character because it felt complicated and intimidating.

I like SC and Tekken but I dont take them seriously when I was a teen because commandlist.

Same problem with MTG the current state of commander modern and vintage too many need things to track like dungeons, saga, too much rolling dice,

Well look at the bright side. UMVC3 is on PC and its easy to run and thanks to incredible modding scene it seems as alive as ever. Now they can import custom animations and have the additional characters select slot resolved, UMVC3 fans will be eating good for a long long time. Side note: This trailer is before the custom animation solution was found. But its still shows how strong the community is for the game. The modders were literally getting together to drop mod with all their characters included.

    This is amazing stuff.

my problem about UMVC3 was a waste potential on arcade version of a known title they wont become popular to countries like here

Philippines still has a struggling FG arcade scene than totally out because Malls are still popular here and big deal here.

Problem with indoor fighter is that few people here has PS5 or PS4 and they wont spend time on FGs for PC that they wont been seen they are more on showing of in malls.

And also internet speeds are terrible and expensive(converted) here than other asian countries regardless were most always online asian country.

so they get motivated to learn an FG if they can show off on Malls and interact with large community than playing PC in their home or online.

This is why MVC2, Tekken5B, TekkenTag1 the games are the reigning arcades then XvS, MVC1, MVSF, EX, KOF98-02 and that bootleg Sf2 are still familiar arcades fighter that everyone knows to play because of being accesible and everywhere haha. while the rest are totally forgoten.

I just wish UMvC3 had become big here in the past. it has potential because of characters but because of being more indoor base game it didnt

SF4 shake things up here for Tekken but SFV and SF6 are already dead on arrival here even both has good content than USF4 because lack of awareness and accesibility.

Meanwhile ArcSys and Bandai are moving away from arcades with their franchises. Neither even mentioned doing a arcade port of strive or T8.

SNK stopped arcade releases a long time ago too.

Sega's arcade business has been suffering since 2020

Capcom slowly becoming the last beacon of hope for fighting games in Japan if you're into the arcade culture still

How I wished Capcom did that to UMVC3 bringing it to Arcade would increase its accesibility and familirities to 3rd world countries even they stop supporting it.

SF4 becomes know here because of the arcade that it had manage to share a demographic to Tekken fans. Now Tekkens is back here that everyone here is just play Tekken.

Sega sold right? They turned GIGA from what i remembered.

Yeah Japan has becoming more gatcha and arcade using paraphernalia like card system, driving or using special controllers

Like most of the arcade left that still geting release like fighter are 4 player Gundams and those gatcha card DBZ 4player LOL

IV lasted for 7 years and went through 3 major revisions, they've added 4 FF CHARACTERS, ONE OF WHOM IS A GRAPPLER BY THE WAY, still no Haggar

V lasted 6 years and went through 2 major revisions and 5 seasons, added another 3 FF characters, still no Haggar

I had a feeling Sean and Haggar will stay in the limbo for good now other than skin. They could have made them an NPC

Think Haggar is dead in the current SF timeline. Need one of the story lore nerds to drop some info.

He was confirmed not dead by the current director.

when someone asked about it on twitter this year

Don't think Haggar will ever be in a SF mainline game, no real reason, just a hunch based on everything since Alpha. And while I know that S5 of SFV wasn't planned, people were saying Gill would never make it because of Urien's Halloween costume. I think on balance, avatar costumes are far less significant than other actual usable costumes ingame.

I was thinking that they will keep Haggar exclusive to Final Fight IP so that any licensing deal that want Haggar like merch and toys needs FF instead of SF

This is something that why he doesn't get an action figure even some toy company wanted him too

I was cautiously hype....then I saw they were avatar costumes. I don't care about Sodom to be honest but Haggar not being playable in a Street Fighter game is criminal at this point. I mean even Lucia and Zeku got to be playable.

LOL two of my most soughtout character ever since SF5 S1. looks like they deliberate made them not playable to any SF anymore for some reasons haha

I wonder what they do next with Sean the other character that I suspect that Capcom deliberately avoiding to be playable...
