Not to mention that Chun-Li's father, in addition to working as a cop, was also one of her instructor figures in teaching her kung fu (as well as Gen). In a way, Chun-Li becoming an instructor and a mother fulfills the two parental roles that Chun had growing up: Since we know very little of Chun-Li's mother, and at best, we can assume she passed away at a young age, and Chun-Li's father being a dad and a teacher to Chun when she's at home, since he very well can't bring his work into his home.

Chun-Li is becoming the mother she never had, and when she is no longer pursueing her father's killer, she continues to honor his memory by becoming exactly what he was to Chun-Li when she was growing up: a parent and a teacher. And that is an incredible way to continue to honor her parents and have her character go forward in life.

Yes. I didn't notice it at first glance. But great observation.
Li-Fen is also older, so the longer she's been with Chun-Li, the more she (or Chun) probably realizes that Chun-Li can baby her anymore. She can't hold her hand every lesson, and in order for her to improve (and have her kung fu potentially save a life one day, maybe hers), Chun will have to go serious when teaching her.

Of course, Chun isn't like that 24/7. in her bio, she enjoys shopping with Li-Fen as well as days off to relax. So she has time in her day to have fun, show off that smile, loving, and motherly side. (Hell on the P2 side of the VS Walk-In cinematics, she's waving and smiling). But great observation of her demeanor in the trailer.
She's obviously stern, and less "Gomen ne" fun. But she does well to not hurt who she's teaching, even hilariously booping Li-Fen in the back of her head with her foot. A kick that would easily kill if Chun was swinging at full force to the back of someone's head.

    this is true

One thing i loved is how fucking serious Chun looks in the sparring with Li Fen in the trailer, she's surely not going hard (in fact barely touch her) but the face is cold af... it sell well for Chun teach kung fu is not teach an hobby but share a knowledge that will likely save her life one day (wich considering Chun's and Li Fen lives make sense)

Chun-Li becoming a police officer to avenger her father than a martial arts instructor to honor her father and help the next generation is definitely logical for her character especially since part of becoming an instructor is also becoming a parent for her at about the same time.

    The Aftermath OVAs are canon.

And I think it was Li-Fen (in SF3) that triggered Chun's career change not the fall of Shadaloo like you said. This is a perfectly normal thing and really doesn't take away from her lifelong pursuit of justice. If anything, Chun-Li creating an Army of Chun-Lis through her school is 100% in line with her pursuit of a better world.

Wasn't Chun-Li still a cop in 3rd Strike, and only AFTER rescuing Li-Fen was when she decided to make a career change?
It's not official, but the first screen of her ending, you can see cop cars on the scene with Chun-Li and Li-Fen. So it's not wrong to assume that Chun-Li was still working with Law Enforcement well after the fall of Shadaloo and adopting Li-Fen.

Yes, joining Interpol was indeed for personal reason: not just trying to take down M. Bison and Shadaloo, but to honor and follow in her father's footsteps as well.
I doubt Chun-Li was in a rush to call it quits after Shadaloo was destroyed. (I know she explores other jobs and travels in her SFIV Aftermath trailer, canonicity withstanding). She's always in a hurry to don her Qipao and deliver swift justice, but def has a soft spot for kids. Not just with Li-Fen, but you saw her let her guard down when fighting Juri in the Juri OVA. Also, who knows what was going through her mind when watching Ken and Mel play in the ASF Story mode.

I def feel Li-Fen had a big influence on the career change, rather than the fall of M. Bison. Remember that she didn't start teaching Kung Fu until after she rescued her from Urien. She was probably giving Li-Fen some private lessons after her SFV Character story, but after spending time with her and realizing how important she is to her was when she wanted to quit police work and become a teacher.

At least, that's how I interpreted it. I always associate Chun-Li's default Qipao with her job with Interpol. Since she's worn in from SF2-SF3, I assume she's always kept that career. And it wasn't until SF6 when she made a change in her wardrobe and fully commited to her new role in life.

Yeah. Good thing we have an option to turn it off. (I know when I get the game, that's the first thing Im gonna do).
I see why the implemented it. Most Sports games have real commentators like the NBA2k and Madden games. I think they def implemented it for the new players to have an expert guide them into what they should do next, but also to give it the feel and legitimacy for SF being an esport to be taken seriously (despite fighting games being niche)

I can't believe how freakyn annoying the commentator is though. I think it's my only issue with the game so far, good thing you can turn that shit off. Waste of development time implementing it imo.
