QuoteWhat I enjoyed about the Street Fighter timeline is the Third Strike iteration. More specifically, Ryu manages to defeat Gill as Shin Ryu because he discovered the importance of balance. Gill was without a doubt even more powerful and dangerous than Bison.

I don't think that's true. Their anniversary website states they have their own encyclopedia full of plot lines and characters that they pick out. NESTS was the story they decided to be the main plot instead of the Hizoku, their bio for Ron mentions that even they have no idea what the plans for Ron and Lin were after the bankruptcy. SNK uses the encyclopedia to help them out eg Adelheid and Magaki were scrapped characters for 1999. 97-2000 were written by a man named Tomonori Kamio.
If anything, 2003 messed up alot of stuff and XIII would have been a very different and better game plot wise had they not decided to go the route they did with the sprites.
I thought it was Akihiko Ureshino.

Akuma being the strongest is similar to Chun-Li being the strongest. It's a self imposed title that's forever placed in pop culture. Even when they canonically lose or Capcom introduces character greater than them, the fans will still claim they're the strongest.

Because of changing people that managing SF,
SF4 and SF5 in the beginning having strong ties ia really because of Ono.
in the past SNK is stll ahead and better in handling conclusion and closure.
SNK was smart enough to keep the same writer from 95/96 up until XIII where they went into pachinko hell.

Hideo has no ties to Ken canonically, he uses Shimazu style Karate. Batsu mentions Hideo in his winquote versus Ryu in TvC.
Hinata is the one who took Ken's online class she even has a fire tatsu.

I've never heard of anyone from Rival Schools being fans of Ken and Alex.
Hinata (main girl) takes Ken's online class. Just like Sakura she's a prodigy so she instantly learns Masters Karate and becomes a strong fighter despite having no martial arts background.

You can thank Capcom Fighting Jam and maybe Ono for that. A Capcom vs Capcom game is more likely than anything else that isn't Street Fighter VI.

It's called Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Also, when it came with Namco and SNK, Capcom were not restricted with what they can do with them. They were given free reign.
Namco and SNK gave them full reign but it was mainly Street Fighter characters in SFxT and CVS. A well put together Capcom roster is better than whatever they could do with SNK/Namco. There's way more advantages doing a Capcom crossover with Marvels gameplay.

It would be the perfect replacement over the now dead Marvel franchise. I can't imagine Dante functioning in any FG that isn't crazy like MvC.
Imagine the fanservice, music, stages, DLC and roster with no restrictions from Disney, Marvel, SNK, Namco.

There's only so many ways you can throw a fireball. Akatsuki throws his fireballs similar to Gill/Urien but i wouldn't call that a rip off or paying homage to them.

It's very unlikely they'll do a big time-skip after SFIII. Gotta keep the girls young and attractive to sell swimsuit costumes.
Alex will suffer a worse fate than K' after they introduced Ash Crimson. The climax of Alex's career is beating Gill who was obviously holding back like he did vs Urien, Ibuki & Dudley. Then getting perfected by Ryu in an alleyway.
The way people hating on Luke is similar to the hate Ash and the SFIII cast got when they were shown.

Happy ending achieved.

A Guest character from another company is the worst case scenario. If they allow it here they'll continue this bs in SFVI.
A Darkstalker character would suck. At least with a guest you can say their appearance isn't canon just a one and done promotional stunt. But merging the SF and DS worlds together is a bad move for many reasons. It would also give DS fans false hope for a new game...
On the other hand, how do they top Akira? Despite Goutetsu being a worthless jobber who Akuma and Gouken surpassed decades before SF1, the general public think he's badass so maybe he can work.

crappy translations
During Alpha 3
- "Psychodrive is destroyed by the hands of fighters, and Shadaloo is ostensibly destroyed" (格闘家たちの手によりサイコドライブが破壊され、表向きはシャドルーが壊滅)
After Alpha 3
- "Vega triggers 'Living Incubator' plan to develop new alternative body" (ベガ、新たな代替ボディを開発する「リビング・インキュベータ」 計画を発動)
- "Abel, born as an android, rescued by Nash. Nash then goes missing" (人造人間として生み出されたアベル、ナッシュによって救出ナッシュはその後行方不明になる)
SFII
- "The "World Fighting Championship" was held by Shadaloo. Aiming at the body of Ryu, a fighter who defeated Vega and Sagat." (シャドルーの暗躍により、「世界格闘選手権」が開催。ベガ、サガットを倒した格間家、リュウのボディを狙う)
In Karin's SFV side story it confirms that Karin fought against M. Bison (lol) so her ending is somewhat canon. Her side story doesn't say anything about beating him, Ryu is the one who destroys M. Bison's body which leads directly into SFII.

Juri was used by Kolin specifically not Illuminati. Gill or Urien don't care about her or the FSE.
Juri's taking orders from someone else as we see in Seth's character story. I find it hard to believe that Kolin would keep in touch with Juri after M. Bison died.

What's funny is most everyone outside of this thread hates the new look for the Sokuto Geri.
Fighting Game players have 0 knowledge on martial arts. The comments surrounding Lidia's Tekken 7 reveal made it clear.
I hope they stick with the correct form, but make it more flashy and impactful. The Sokuto Geri in SFIII is incorrect and looks like a Superkick. I remember people clowning Capcom for giving Zangief the "donkey kick" when Zangief is using a wrestling move.

They're double wrong since Ryu's more Kyokushin than Shotokan. SFV is the most karate Ryu's ever been, they even corrected his DoNkEy kIcK to look like the real sokuto geri. I think Akuma's throw has him use sokuto geri as well.

I never said he did unless you're just bringing that point up.
I'm just bringing it up. Most people like to group Adelheid with Rock under the assumption that he hates Rugal.
Edit: Rugal even gave his kids a home (sky noah). He can't be pure evil if he doesn't treat his kids like s***

Adelheid doesn't hate Rugal, he respects Rugal and wants to uphold his legacy as a fighter hence the tournament in 2003.
Despite how "pure evil" Rugal is, he's a better father than Geese.

Capcom's gone back to it being a Shoryuken, and unlike Metsu Shoryuken we have official art and trailers showing Ryu using a Shoryuken. Off the top of my head, only going off canon on-screen events
Alpha 1 & 2: He never used Shoryuken
Alpha 3: He used it and M. Bison's body got destroyed
SFII: Never used it
SFIV: Used it on Seth (new boss character at the time) but it did no damage. Then used it on one of S.I.N's machines to save Sakura.
SFV: Used it on Rashid, and looking at the poorly drawn artwork he aimed for the chin.
SFIII: Never used it
Ryu's used it 4 times since beating Sagat. And one of those was on a machine.

But I don't really how Ryu beaten Sagat, but there are multiple interpretation
1.) Sagat being beaten with a cheap shot SRK when his helping Ryu
2.) Sagat being beaten with a cheap shot SRK powered SNH when his helping Ryu
3.) Sagat being beaten by Ryu fair and square but with SRK powered SNH
4.) Sagat being beaten by Ryu fair and square with a critical hit SRK
Which do you prefer?
1. Is headcanon made up on the internet. It's been around so long that people believe this is canon.
2. Is headcanon with a sprinkle of Nakahira's take on the fight.
3. After the SFZ manga all spin-offs copied the SNH influencing the fight.
4. What really happened.
It's one of the few things Capcom doesn't change.
- Ryu beat Sagat with a basic Shoryuken
- Sagat's profile has Shoryuken in his dislikes
- Sagat creates Tiger Blow/Uppercut to counter Shoryuken (like Geese developing a new style to counter Ryo)
- SFVAE trailer shows Sagat trying to counter Ryu's Shoryuken with his Tiger Uppercut but Ryu avoids the confrontation
- SFV arcade endings show Ryu beating Sagat and walking away (In both Ryu & Sagat's POV)
The SFII Movie captures this perfectly.

If M. Bison knew who Gouken was and where his dojo was located. He 100% knows about his edgy weaker brother who has no friends. Also Guy & Sagat's SFZ3 backstory mentions a 1 year timeskip from the events of SF1 & FF1.
