    I think anyone who's on board with strive is long over this 
     
    This is the baby game new era gg, theyre leaving a lot of shit behind and I think it's generally been received positively by people who gave it a chance.  Only character i think arcsys has really done wrong is anji lol
     
    The difference is sfv took things just to feel worse, strive took things and in a lot of ways feels better

    I don't think this testament they/ them business has anything to do with NA, America didn't cook up this design or pick a female VA for the character lol 
     
    It seems very obvious to me that this is what Japan HQ wanted and testament looks sick so I'm down with it

    Yeah but why even make that choice when testament was clearly voiced by a dude in xx? Everything about the strive design pushes the ambiguity testament used to have and really leans heavy into feminine appearance. If it wasn't for the English trailer I genuinely would not know that this was the same testament from before
     
    Arguing about whether this is a good direction is one thing, but I can't imagine another way to interpret the intent that is dripping from the deliberate changes

    On the subject of Shun'ei I think he was poorly executed but his design isnt random, its based off the chinese subculture of fei zhu liu. IIRC SNK knew they wanted to make the new protag Chinese to appeal to their then-new Chinese overlords and went with "trendy looking" over "classic chinese". Point is it was never a design meant to appeal to the world at large and sure enough....it didnt lol

    Since he says as one of the designers it could be as a consultant, perhaps?
     
    Because last i checked he is still with Platinum and is supposedly involved with Bayo 3.
