So, I spent around 90 minutes getting everything downloaded and situated on my PS5 and playing. Astro's Playroom is absolutely adorable, and does well showcasing the PS5 tech off. Cannot wait until Sony pushes the firmware update that allows PS5 external game storage/secondary nVME slot to be enabled, but who knows what'll happen with that? Also, I should have my Japanese eShop funds in the morning for Esp.Ra.De PSI.

Posted this over in the VGG thread also, but I bought a 5000 yen Japanese eShop card to pick up Esp.Ra.De Psi off the Japanese eShop. Started to look at buying it physically, and it was getting into the $100 range easily for just for having the base game shipped to me (not the limited edition or anything like that). Luckily the eShop price includes tax, so I'll have about 50 yen left over after getting the game. Just waiting on the code to be delivered from Nippon Yasan, and I'll be good to go on that front. Edit: I am also painfully aware that shipping from Asia for anything right now is terribad, especially with the pandemic going on.

Just went through the process for the first time to get a Japanese eShop card (for Esp.ra.de), and it actually went through okay. Just waiting on the email with the code to come through, and I'll grab that for my Switch.

Latest buys, thanks to the stimulus and the wife's okay. She also picked up a 3 month NSO membership and some general Mandolorian stuff.

We took care of all of our bills before we left on the missus' birthday trip out of town. My portion is being held in my business account until I can decide where I want it to go to/towards. Trying to decide between one of the new Apple Watch SEs or upgrading my motherboard in my PC and giving the one I'm using now back to her.

I've been using my iPhone 12 Pro Max for a couple of days now, so here's my initial impressions of the phone: 1.) Holy fuck is this thing big (*cue that's what she said jokes here*) 2.) Battery has been a fucking champ, it took a full day almost to run the battery down to 20%. Battery took just over an hour to charge back up to 100%. 3.) Outside of one minor issue with my bank (over verification), I have all of my debit/credit cards entered and can be readily used in Apple Pay. 4.) Camera is fucking ace. The camera combined with something like Halide means that I'm going to be taking a lot more pictures of my grandkids. 5.) Everything is fast as fuck. Really the only thing left for Apple to do with their mobile devices would be to put in high-refresh rate screens (I'm locked in for 2 years, so I will not be updating to the 2021 iPhone).

I'm hopeful of this too, especially if Strive's rollback implementation is really good. I'm also hoping this comes to PC, with Marvelous/XSeed coming nowhere near this game. I'd rather ArcSys self-publish this game on PC.

Wife gave her okay earlier, so I've placed my order with T-Mobile for a iPhone 12 Pro Max. Should be here after I return from mini-vacation.

I would personally argue the current/ongoing collapse of SRK is the more tarnishing of the two things. So much technical stuff is archived in the tech talk section, without it we're fucked. Smash players can go congregate in the corner of the convention center for all I care tbh 😤

So, at some point this weekend my grandson asked for me to buy Among Us on Switch. That coupled with the no money purchase of Sephiroth, means I'm down major on my gold coins and need to see about buying some more eShop credit and more games with this supposed stimulus. Edit: he liked playing as the impostor, which is immediately kinda sus. Every time he got that role, I asked if he had been ejected out the airlock yet 🤣

I like to have it personally so I don't have to have a power brick and cord running from my power strip across my table to charge my phone. OnePlus finally gave in and allowed wireless charging, but it's only on the 8 Pro; and their wireless charging spec (Warp Charge WIreless 30) can only be accomplished with their wireless charger, and is not an default standard; so you're stuck with their one if you want to have your battery topped off fairly quickly.

I started my Octopath playthrough as Ophelia too, her theme is pretty boss af.

While I'm on holiday leave from work, I'm gonna try watching Azur Lane. Knowing me and my recent trends with anime, I probably won't finish the season.

Buying stuff for this new iPhone is a lot different from when I bought my 8 Plus, almost two years ago. When I got that phone originally, I spent so much money on accessories at the carrier store, and I really didn't know any better between the carrier store accessories, and that it is infinitely easier (and cheaper) to purchase the accessories prior to buying the phone on Amazon and the like. The only things I'm really missing now are a larger charging pad (wanted the missus and I to have a dedicated spot to set our phones down every night and charge), and either a wireless charger/phone holder for the car for her and I to each have. Oh, and a(n) updated Yubikey.
