I've sat down at my computer for two consecutive evenings to try to knock out the Beyond Light campaign. Almost at the very end of that, then I can get rid of Destiny 2 on my PC (or maybe not, since the missus has been off work due to the holiday; the evenings have been non-eventful as far as getting on the PS5 goes). I've thought about taking on the Cold War campaign after I get back from my trip this weekend. Eventually, I'll get a updated GPU.

I'm convinced there are people stupider than some of my co-workers that work for Nippon Yasan's support department. The individual who I spoke to confirmed to me that they apparently do not send the codes via email, but they're mailed out via Japan Post. Next time, I'm ordering eShop bucks from Amazon Japan directly.

iirc, it was before I got my Switch in 2019. I don't personally recall except maybe one instance in the last four to six months I've bought a full game digitally from the eShop (iirc, the last game I bought was the Switch port of Among Us). Everything else I've bought from either Walmart or Gamefly on the cheap. Not worth buying digitally anymore in most instances. Also, a small update on the Nippon Yasan situation: From what I noticed, I placed the order for the 5k yen eShop card at the end of the observance of Japanese New Year, on January 4th. I'm going to wait until January 20th (Wednesday) for the code to be delivered, and after that; if I still don't have it I'll take it up with Paypal and Chase on Thursday and have my money refunded.

For those of you who are so inclined: Samsung S21 Android Phone Lineup The S21 Ultra is really nice, and does have some really nice and updated features compared to my 12 Pro Max. If Google wasn't on my shitlist for the contactless payment stuff with my OnePlus, I would have maybe picked this over what I have now. I also like that Samsung brought out a Tile competitor in the SmartTag, but $30 for a Bluetooth LE tag that only works with Samsung phones; makes this an immediate no go for me; not because of it only working with Samsung phones. Would I like for this to have been OS agnostic? Sure! But Tile is pretty much the gold standard for these at this point, and short of Tile being bought by Samsung or Apple (moreso Apple); I am looking at buying one of the Tile smart tags over Samsung's offering or Apple's rumored offering, just to help me keep up with keys.

I personally would have kept it at a locked 60fps, and tried redoing the netcode. People have been asking for quite sometime now for the netcode to be redone.

I picked up Scott Pilgrim on Playstation, and played a little bit of it last night before bed. I remember being super stoked about the game when it originally came out, but I'm not hype enough to the point where I'll double dip on this game for PC/Switch, especially with the LRG physical editions. I **might** pick up the Switch physical release for this game just for the collectability value of it, but I don't see myself buying the large ass $130 edition that they're hawking. I also am not planning on picking up that KOFXIV limited edition I posted about a couple of days ago any time soon. SNK fucked things up by prioritizing framerate on the XBox ports of the latest Samsho game over good netcode, which everyone and their mother has been asking for, for months now. Might pick up that Garou CE that I saw they had on that site if I get a couple of decent invoices, that way I'm not wiped out over paying $300 for it.

Spoke with support at Nippon Yasan this morning regarding my eShop card order I placed last week. The girl was very understanding, but eventually had to forward my inquiry onto the home office. I understand that this normally takes some time, but this is kinda dumb. Next time, I may just go through my Amazon Japan account to get the eShop credit I want.

Braved outside and went to Family Video, since word's out that they're closing all of their stores due to COVID. Ended up spending $130 and got Jedi Fallen Order, The Outer Worlds, Death Stranding, and Immortals Fenyx Rising on PS4. They really didn't have a whole lot of stuff, except for XBox; and of course; XBox last gen ... well, they were something else. Switch games were practically non-existant at this store. Immortals and Jedi have next-gen stuff for PS5, and I suppose the other two will eventually get fidelity enhancements for PS5 as well. edit: there's also word of a separate deluxe and collector's edition for KOFXIV that go on sale tomorrow morning (the tweet said either 3pm or 4pm UK time), so I'll get up early for that; and dependent on how much it is; I may bite for one. These editions are limited to 2000, and 200 respectively. I'll grab the tweets and post them separately, Here's hoping that the collector's edition isn't 100 Euros or some crazy shit like that.

I'm screaming over here. So I found out my wife is intentionally stonewalling my purchase of a Apple Watch SE. Before I bought my 12 Pro Max, I did contact Apple and ask if the Fitness+ content could be put on another TV via Airplay; that's a big ol' nope. Have to pony up for an Apple TV as well to get the full use out of it.

I have a similar setup to you @DarkSakul, except I have a 240gb SSD on a USB 3.1 dongle for installing Windows, then I have a couple of other drives I use. I have a 32gb drive that's used just for Windows PE and my backup software; then I have a 256gb drive with my drivers, game launchers, etc etc on there. I also have my 4gb drive that's used for DBAN and updating BIOS between my computer and the missus' PC.

Forgot to mention earlier, that as part of the after-holiday sale that LRG had; I scored a copy of Senko no Ronde 2 for PS4. I think that makes for five pending orders with LRG between both my PS4/PS5 and Switch. Got two of the limited edition NeoGeo cases (Last Blade 2, Fatal Fury Battle Archives vol. 2), SnR2, and then my two Switch games; all waiting to be shipped. Edit: waiting until tomorrow morning to see if that eShop credit deal is still going, if it is; I may bite for two.

From what I heard and understood, the old EZMod kits for the PS4 VLX will work here too; minus touchpad access and some other stuff. I took a month's break from anything stick related to focus on EOY stuff for work, and now that I have a PS5 in-house and will potentially have a crapton of time to kill; if I don't get a Q1 contract renewal for my client, I may look into this a little further.

For future reference, where's the best place to pickup Japanese eShop cards? Nippon Yasan is kinda boo boo for this stuff, and has taken a whole fucking week so far in issuing a 5k yen card. I needz my shumpz 🤣

I've been waiting for quite sometime for my Japanese eShop card to come through so I can buy Esp.Ra.De Psi. Whatever the case, I will not use Nippon Yasan again for eShop credit and will find a different vendor for this going forward. At this point, I'm wondering if I'm better off buying a physical copy and having it shipped; cost be damned. In any case, I have a support ticket in with them, and should hear back from them either today or tomorrow perhaps. As far as the PS5 goes, I've started playing Doom 2016 on the console, and I'm almost to the halfway point in the game. Work schedule this week is short, so I'll be spending a lot of time trying to finish the game before my birthday on Saturday; and possibly starting Doom Eternal that day as well.
