  1. Animal Crossing is gonna make that easily, especially with holiday shopping.
  2. I watched JerryRigEverything's teardown of the 12 Pro, and he rendered the phone useless while opening the phone up. If I was paying as much for an iPhone as a lot of the people that buy these yearly or every two/three years, I'd be very upset if I had to drive 2 hours plus to the nearest Apple store to have the phone fixed.
  3. Everyone here should remember the run-up to Christmas last year on the other site, when I finally got my Switch. This year, the missus asked for me to kinda tone things down a bit and not spend as much on myself, and casually recommended I stay under $200 for my gifts this year (the last couple of years I've spent close to $500 each year on just my gifts alone). So, here's my semi-final Christmas Haul this year, as far as Switch games go (all are physical except for MK Aftermath): SF 30th Anniversary Edition Puyo Puyo Tetris MK Aftermath Paper Mario: The Origami King Fire Emblem Encore FE# Streets of Rage 4 The only thing I really paid "full-price" for was MK Aftermath, and even then; I bought it at Walmart; so technically not full price. I may use Gamefly's used section once more before the holidays end, as there were a couple of other games I wanted outside of the last three on the list (bought from them). I may also buy Dragon Quest XI brand new as well from Walmart, barring Amazon/Best Buy putting the Switch version of the Definitive Edition on sale for Black Friday. also @iStu X- since you were looking for Switch codes to append to the OP, mine is SW-1955-7206-6697. Edit: just checked my Switch and I already bought SoR4. **FUCK**
  4. I will check into that very soon and let you know. I think with this post here, we surpassed the total amount of posts in this thread that were at the other place overall.
  5. So, as I promised in the VGG thread in General Discussion; some more details about the Stadia controller and a general wot I think after about 30 days with it: Very Good/Good: Ease of setup (initial setup was basically open the Stadia app, update the controller once, enter the pair code) Very minimal latency on my end (I know from actual reviews, this is the most complained about part of the controller. Launched Destiny 2, and went into the Whisper activity for my test, and it was alright). YMMV, especially with more mainstream broadband providers (Comcast/Spectrum/et al). Also tried it with Battle For The Grid as well, there was a perceived movement and combo delay (if I had to guess, anywhere from 1-5f) Controller feels great in the hand and the DPad is pretty good. It's not Switch Pro great feeling, but it's a very good first attempt at a controller by Google. Bad/Very Bad/Turrible: No controller memory at all in the phone app/website (meaning there's probably no controller id that can be saved) You have to enter the pair code every time before you can play (universal pair code is Y,X,Down,X) If you're into competitive multiplayer games, Stadia's matchmaking system is godawful because of how few people are using the service. You're investing into technology that Google could potentially kill off if it doesn't work out.
  6. So, something I've kinda kept hidden ... I bought a Stadia controller last month to give the service a fair shot. I'll get into more detail in the Technology thread, but I ended up cancelling my Pro-level subscription to the service over monetary issues (tl;dr: money was coming out of our shared checking acct, not the business acct). Couple of decent games on the service, but I wish the service was kinda cheaper/could bundle it with other Google services (Youtube Premium being chief amongst them) to save money on the service.
  7. I do apologize, typical old man kneejerk reaction stuff. I did read a piece earlier from Barron's regarding the nature of the complaint that broke it down a lot better. The piece also stated that close to 35% of Google's overall search traffic requests this past year was from iOS if I remember the article correctly. (if that is indeed the case, then the following meme definitely applies):
  8. No prob. Enjoy the laptop if you get it, that's all I ask.
  9. Based on a real brief search, there seems to be an option to add a second nVME drive (it's a drive that looks like a large ass stick of gum basically) to the laptop along with the option for a 2.5in drive as you previously stated. Here are the instructions for putting that together based on the model number that came up from your link: https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/63012/~/hard-drive-installation-instructions-for-the-acer-nitro-an515-54
  10. From what I think (again, personal opinion): Apple has to have more than one option as well for web search in Safari, because limiting the amount of options available can inherently seem like anti-competitive behavior, which in turn can have the DOJs anti-trust lawyers rubbing their hands like Birdman. I'm surprised Apple hasn't been hit with a similar lawsuit over locking iOS down to the singular App Store, or Apple refusing to put backdoors in iOS for law enforcement. It will be very interesting how this plays out as well; especially if the anti-trust case is ruled in favor of the DOJ and Google is required to spin off those sections of their company.
  11. Finally got it in today, the double clicking on the G502 I had was getting out of control. There's an debounce time option in the Model D software to adjust the sensitivity of double-clicks on the device and save it to the on-board memory. I plan on taking apart the G502 this weekend and seeing if I can get the double clicks to stop via liberal use of contact cleaner.
  12. The majority of DOJs complaint surrounds the use of Google's search by-default in Safari on iOS. The vast majority of iOS users (present company excluded of course) are lazy as shit and instead of learning how to change the fucking search engine in Safari, they want the govt to step in and break up the whole company because people cannot/will not do anything. FOH with that shit.
  13. Expanded out my techtuber subscriber list, it's currently got the following: MKBHD UrAvgConsumer JerryRigEverything Dave2D iJustine SuperSaf
  14. Jesus H. Christ, I'd be worried about signal degradation if I ever ran a HDMI cable that long.
  15. The Mi 10T had most of the bands that the OnePlus 8T has, but yeah; that will take a month to get here
  16. I have strongly considered importing the Xiaomi Mi 10T, since it's about $600 before shipping from my usual tech spots in Asia. But more than likely I'm jumping ship off of Android and going with an iPhone due to the costs of financing the phone are about half that.
  17. So, everything worked out fine with the G502. But I am still having issues with it in Windows, specifically the double clicking and dragging are getting to be a nuisance with it. Once the Model D gets here, I'm gonna take the G502 apart and clean it; then it'll be relegated to laptop duty with no G Hub software installed.
  18. I watched that as well. He was paid by the phone company to provide coverage of it and they sent additional phones for him to give away on social media. It's an okay phone, not good, not bad, definitely not great; just okay.
  19. You were right! It was defaulting to G Hub, so I enabled the hardware profile and copied my desktop profile over. I have some client work in a couple of hours, I'll let you know what happens in that regard.
  20. I would love to see VF5:FS get a remaster/rerelease for modern consoles (Series X/PS5), however I don't see that happening. I also would like to see any version of VF5 come out on PC without having to resort to emulation or pulling out my 360/PS3 in order to play it.
  21. I hear you. The missus and I will occasionally fire up the PS4 and play a few rounds before bed some nights. That being said ... I'm more than likely looking at 2 copies of the deluxe edition for PC and PS4 tentatively until more information is known regarding whether or not the Season Pass for Strive will be available separately or if characters will be available to buy separately once the game is released (like DBFZ, Granblue, and Jubei in BBCF). Once that information is known or is made known, I'll narrow down which versions I want to pick up.
  22. My total Prime Day haul was a new Fire tablet for the missus, in that Plum color. I'm more than likely done until November 1st, when I've got to pay for a lot of FGC stuff my wife has asked for this year. She's asked for some new stuff from Junk Food Arcades along with the parts to put something together, and stick art. I have an artist in mind for the art, and he does want to take the commission on. It's just the matter of having the money together to do both at the same time, is all.
  23. The thread recently passed it's third birthday (a couple of days early), and is now officially driving their parents crazy with multiple hours daily watching Baby Shark and Cocomelon on loop in the YT app. They can hear the songs in their sleep, and it's driven them mad to the point where they only sleep 2-3 hours a night. It's that bad! The video for this year is ... special.
