  1. 16 would be an extremely disappointing starting  roster even without the knowledge of the leaks.

If the leaked 22 make up the first six than any excitement for DLC is entirely dead for me. Worst case scenario overall they made horrible picks going over a year post-launch with no Final Fight, Alpha, or SFIII characters would be absolutely devastating to the roster IMO.

Sakura won the SFV popularity poll which had no bearing on her appearence in SFV since she got revealed weeks later; She shouldn't be coming into SF6  years later a-fucking-gain.

Infact Sakura should have been promoted in importance currently she is making Epic bank in Fortnite. A whole new generation has been introduced to the character and she has been well recieved. Capcom capitalizes by doing nothing except wank off the World Warriors like always.... Amazing!  Also worth bringing up that Sakura in the urban setting set in the future is such a no brainer she fits in immediately. Sakura should be among the very first DLC characters and treated like a poster character with a revamped story going ahead in my opinion.

Makoto has been missing for over a decade despite placing second in the SFV poll. Why did they do this poll if it didn't influence their picks for SFV or SF6? Loool

How the fuck did E Honda sneak into the base roster over Alex, or literally anybody with a pulse? Who the fuck wants him so early?  Serious question.

I hate Cody but the game is set in Metro City he, Guy or Maki should be coming early.

I thought the 22 roster were made up of shitty returning picks for a starting roster( Honda, Blanka, Ed, Akuma, and Zangief  ) but it being the base roster made it redeemable to me.

Any roster below 20 is not a good number at this point the expectations are high, and we are rapid.

    French girls are allowed

Wich lead to next question, if Manon is a girl

Possible roster for Street Fighter 6 leaked : r/TwoBestFriendsPlay

last time SF talked about a french judoka "girl" was actually a boy

The original concept for Abel was... different

Sure not likely plot twist, just a possibility

    Just Saying GIFs | Tenor

I would actually love some variant of an unassuming short pretty boy who uses Judo. Older than that art but a similar concept would be unique.

The evidence against that being the case with Manon is she seems to have breasts. So she is either a cis-woman or another trans woman like Poison. Nothing wrong with the latter but it would be a little lame at first that Manon has pink hair too.

    JURI-sf6.jpg

PS : i do really hope her 3D model turns out good. This particular image of it is cropped and low quality but i can still tell the facial structure is overall good, the hair is on point and actually covers her forehead properly ( thing they need to fix with Chun ) and Juri retains her slender build overall. I am excited but i doubt they gonna preview her anytime soon.

I expect Juri to be revealed before  A.K.I who will be revealed last just like F.A.N.G was for SFV so there is that maybe. lool

I throw out that elbow here and there as well after certain combos that leave the opponent just at the right distance. Most people have yet to keep that move in the back of their minds and won't instinctively get up blocking when they are at almost full screen. It's also a good tool for chip kills due to its range but I suppose that's more of an accepted use than just the YOLO version.

With Akira in general there's one weird thing I noticed recently and that's how she becomes progressively worse the longer a round goes. Her neutral isn't good (and also absolutely no fun IMO because youre restricted to very few tools) so the more time your opponent has to find their rhythm, the harder it'll be for her to get her snowballing offense started. Also, at leats from my perspective, both of her V-Triggers are bottom 5 material, so unless you're going up against a Vega or a FANG, chances are your opponent is getting stronger while their life bar shrinks whereas you don't. Maybe it's a weird analysis but that's how she feels to me after a solid week of play.

There's also a few other things that stand out, like the fact that she loses to zoners and fireball characters for the most part, but Dhalsim actually feels like a very good matchup. She's also the very first character I play in this game that doesn't seem to lose the Balrog matchup which might be a good reason enough to keep her as a side character.

I have absolutely not looked into Oro yet but the two or three I came across that seemed to know what they were doing or at least had some kind of gameplan outside of just cancelling everything into his Kick special (which is super unsafe) made him look really strong and annoying. I think he'll be a Top10 contender in a few months time, at least with Tengu Stone Trigger (the other one might as well not exist).

Akira's VT1 is a little overrated but VT2 is okay if you learn it. It helps her neutral by making her stray  pokes lead to damage, and gives her more pressure options. I too find she has a problem opening people up who learn the match the lack of something like a good st.mk as a poke, lack of consistent anti-fireball tools, and st.lk being 5f start up is killer. I think she is fun but just kind of seeming mid tier at best feels lacking.

I forget who was talking about it but Gill is definitely wack af for a boss character. Dude looks some impressive at a glance but in gameplay he is so plain.

SFV Gill? He is pretty fun to watch but his little brother is cooler.  I think Bison is a lot more boring than Gill in SFV maybe because Bison is so straight forward.

Third Strike boss version Gill? His supers are dope and flashy. Resurrection effects plus voice line is hype as fuck the first time. Even more hype when you parry it and beat him down when you learn the game. lol boring af to play.

I think his New Generation stage was awesome. Third Strike stage is dull.

I think it's less crazy than it might look.  While I generally disagree with having an 'S' tier when there are going to be 7 characters in it, they only used 3 letter grades, showing how the strength distribution is pretty compressed right now.  (Gotta count the + and - tiers as half steps within an actual tier.)

Then when you look at how they placed the characters themselves, there are only really two clusters going on:  S through A, and A- through B-.  If you look at which of those two clusters each character ended up in, there's a lot less to nitpick.  Maybe I'd swap clusters for Menat and Ibuki (but tbf my main does a lot better against Menat than against Ibuki).

I think everybody knows that tier lists like these are really just guesstimates.  But it's hard to get high quality data to do match-up charts that aren't also just based on guesstimates.

I miss when match up charts were more stantard early last in SFIV's lifetime but those take very long to both make and then  theorycraft. And a week later a patch just changes things anyway.

iDom tier list.  Seems mostly right, +/- a tier on some characters.  A few left field choices though (Falke?).

    That's a whacky tier list.

Right away feels like there is way too many tiers. It looks really silly the gaps between characters dont feel as big as whst that many tiers traditionally implies.

Blanks, Nash, Zangief, Ed, Ken, Rose, Lucia  all feel too low. Ken's changes are shaping up to be the most significant in this recent patch now he has the highest meterless punishes in this game and cr.hp is one of best heavy buttons in the game. The new HP DP is a meance in neutral.

I get why Zangief is seen as in the trashcan but he nearly won two events post-nerf already  and the Abigail match up one of his worst is actually much better on him now. Zangief reception  feels like Dhalsim all over again players in the west screaming he is dead because of a wrist slap  when he is stronger than ever because of V-Shift. I fear Capcom is gonna buff his ass with all this mourning over Zangreif's corpse in America.

Chun, Zeku, Menat, Mika, Juri feel too high. Zeku is strong but god is he the most overrated character in the game in NA for an "S tier character" . Chun cant anti air to save her life her matches are very polarizing so understandable. Menat better than Dhalsim this season is absurd that man is cooking with god's oil this season.

Mika is played by one guy has obvious flaws while she is not on Laura's level as a grappler. Same for Juri as much as I like JustAKid he is always over estimating Juri. Infiltration loves Juri and does better with her even he thinks she is in a meh state. How the fuck you gonna rate Juri over new Nash? lol

This tier list is good example of why Japanese top players dont often make tier lists without a roundtable effort.

NA tier lists usually feel like emotional speculation which I dont mind but people think it's the gospel.  This patch is a week old. lol

    > Chun-Li and Juri's V-Shift cause them to move back farther than expected. → This is scheduled to be fixed in the first week of March

Looks like the vshift tier list with Juri on top was a dev mistake. 😂

Capcom "nerfing" Juri as usual. 😂 ) Can we get a faster sweep as compensation?! Least she should be able to follow up V-Shift better. )

Nemo ranked Juri and Bison' V-Shifts as going the furthest. I guess Capcom isn't gonna "fix" Bison.

My turn to be that guy:  Juri's "divekick" wasn't a divekick, it was an A2A AA.

Nah it's primary use was to blow up fireballs but it's usage was fun. You used jump MP as the big money  air to air juggle starter.

However her divekick weren't always as unsafe if you don't mash and land lower on your opponents hurtboxes below the waist. However that usage is a total gimmick it's too unrealistic to do on most of the cast reliably.  Of course you could use it to be a menace to tall characters, naturally.

I just want Juri's divekick back. It's cool and another tool she lost. Meanwhile in SFV Ryodansatsu just sucks to use outside of tagging fireballs in neutral even then slower than most anti-fireball ex moves.  It looks like an overhead yet it isn't one and that makes me sad.

  10. Seth is finally popular and Capcom attempts to kneecap them. They should have just did the health and stun nerfs with nothing else.

Nerfing the falling axe kick now that V-Shift is in the game seems dumb tbh. Divekicks will be mega risky against opponents with a V-Meter once we get used to using V-Shift.

Revert that shit, dial down Cammy's dive kick height restriction, give us back old Lightning legs, and give Juri her divekick.

    From Sajam's chat at https://youtu.be/4GgC1ZeENfE?t=979

    * The wall break mechanic resetting to neutral

    * Eddie being quicker to add & remove to play instead of call once & run 6 mixups

    * Greatly reduced gatlings, hence, the barrage of normals that go on forever

...overall says the dev's intention is to prevent the franchise's previous snowball-y effect of one combo corners you where you then eat hellish mixups and die in two more touches.

This is a good change, I think.

    I like playing Strive.

However the devs saying the changes were made to prevent a "snowball" effect is bullshit.

Now you just die in two hits. lol

I've always enjoyed interacting with Ono both as a fan and as a professional.  I know he can rub a lot of people the wrong way though so it's a mixed bag.

It is completely imbecilic to assume he was right there developing the mechanics instead of what he was actually doing, which was be the negotiator for all the different sponsors and marketing partners that would put SFV in a good spot on the financial reports, which it eventually did as it now sits as Capcom's 8th best selling game all-time.

Also the trickle down info that infuriated players didn't become a huge issue for SFV until Junior got promoted over him.  Before then Ono always kept people in the loop with near monthly updates for both the game and upcoming events.

Nah the trickle down info has been happening since before SFV even came out.

"Alex trailer" and " Announcement of an announcement"  memes were there day one because of how poorly Capcom communicates with the player base. To the point Capcom Japan  scrapped the original time table in season one that Capcom USA revealed to us all. I am not sure if I would say that makes it Ono's fault however it did exist early.
