  1. Mask of the Phantasm was one of the last 4k things I got from Best Buy....or it may have been Target.  One difference, btw---Target actually still has a few blu-rays and dvds in their stores even now (though they've cut that section down to almost nothing), unlike Best Buy just completely giving up on physical media.

Mask of the Phantasm also had one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time.

Movie soundtracks---- some others that are Legend status for me:

    Prince of Egypt (various)

    Gladiator (Hans Zimmer)

    Scream (Marco Beltrami)

    Batman 1989 Danny Elfman

Gladiator was often my personal theme music for Quake 3 and various other games back then....especially "The Battle"

  2. really wish that were made like a "normal" game in the good ol' days where everything was offline-compatible by default, and you only needed to go online for online-multiplayer. (and thus...you actually had a copy of the game "for real".....it wouldn't just effectively be a longer *rental* that can and will be taken from you at some point for a variety of reasons beyond your control)  It's quite a shame because it looks like something I would enjoy having in my game collection, playing for years.

  3. So....the 2nd episode of Interview with the Vampire kicked things up with the violence and killing. The victim was on stage during a live play so the audience just assumed it was all part of the show (since up to that point their show/performance was already dark and weird, leaning into horror)....it was a cool scene... also it was funny that at the end of it as the audience applauded and the actors stepped forward you could see them activate a trap door so the dead body drops away while hidden by the actors standing in front of it.

Currently, I think this is the only serious show that's on right now to provide us some regular vampire content. (the only serious one at least---I don't know if "What We Do in the Shadows" is still going or not, but silly goofy vampire shows/movies just aren't my thing....I tried watching that show one time but...nah.  Same deal with that damn Renfield movie; I'm probably the only one that was NOT caught up in the Nic Cage hype like that was some awesome thing... the movie just looked like some "haha lol!" silly meme ass nonsense which is the opposite of what I'm looking for in supernatural horror.)

  4. That thing about "planet Serpo" is fascinating if true...I've been checking for more vids about it

imagine how cool an ongoing series based on this could be....the story source material here is gold.

**Even if it means you probably won't ever return....yeah I'd be one of those willing to sign up for such a program, based entirely on scientific curiosity... imagine being able to see their homeworld for yourself, and ask them whatever questions you have....getting to see what an alien race's society is like in person, what kinds of entertainment they have invented, their social norms, and all that, etc. etc.

  5. yeah I saw how bad the SNES version of Pit Fighter was at the time back then, and dodged that bullet; I had the Genesis version.... Ty was my usual favorite character of the 3.  Looking back, that game was hilarious for so many reasons; even back then some friends and I were laughing at that game and had certain running jokes about it.  Quite a shame the sequel got canceled there.  ha, remember the last boss of the game looked like one of those guys from the tag team "Demolition", and there was a woman that looked like "Scary Sherry", also from the old days of WWE (WWF at the time)....also that skinny dude in the army fatigue pants would spit on you when you were knocked down.  That game was hilarious, man.

oh yeah I've lost all hope of Powerstone ever being re-released at this point.  It's down there in the ranks with Viewtiful Joe and Rival Schools... old IPs that Capcom apparently doesn't give a shit about anymore.

edit---if they made this statue something you could get as part of a Collector's Edition for Space Marine 2 then hell yeah I'd get it:

    https://www.instagram.com/p/C7EuEIxhyl0/ 😳

  6. I should have known there wouldn't be a "real" answer to why Claudia was re-cast for season 2... just "a variety of reasons"....

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/why-claudia-was-recast-for-interview-with-the-vampire-season-2/ar-BB1mlBgK?ocid=BingNewsSerp

It's all just generic corporate PR-speak.  They did get another girl that looks very similar at least....but yeah season 2 premiered last Sunday night on AMC.

  7. Hades---- as usual, the "dynamic duo" boss situation is just a bad time all around... it tends to be lame and aggravating whenever I see it---- this combo of Theseus and the minotaur in Hades is straight up bullshit, man.  Fighting either one of these pieces of shit by themselves probably wouldn't be a big deal at all....starting to remind me of the hell that is the Godskin duo in Elden Ring....maybe not *that* bad but you get the idea.  If I could just skip over that bullshit to go straight to the fight with Hades I would.  One run I had all 3 "death defiances" and yep...burned all 3 on this fight.

...and so far, still no "doom damage" several runs later, no matter which boons I've picked lately..... like that particular thing has vanished from my game, I guess.

  8. well this is surprising

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/redfall-is-getting-its-final-update-with-an-offline-mode-after-all-even-after-microsoft-closed-arkane-austin/ar-BB1mAohI?ocid=BingNewsSerp

So.... a final update will add the offline mode for Redfall; I just heard it mentioned in passing on a podcast I'm listening to at the moment.  Whatever the case; it's obviously too late now, as barely anyone plays and it forever will have the stink of "failed game" all over it.

...if it were offline-playable from the damn start, I might have forgiven the other issues and bought it day 1, actually.

  9. woooo various youtube channels are about to be on FIRE with this latest juicy footage then... I look forward to it. *insert typical popcorn gif again*

yeah you're goddamn right I'd take advantage as well if I were one of these youtubers.  There's so many wild stories in the celeb news cycle at all times....you'd NEVER be out of material to get easy views with.

  10. Hades---It's like the game knows and tries to keep the good stuff away from me now... I haven't seen the "Doom Damage" upgrade in quite some time now, so none of my latest runs have been as successful as yesterday....also, I guess from the 2nd time onward that boss fight against the bull is always the bull + Theseus?!  So....it is only "easy" the first time you get there, I guess.  It's been that duo as the boss of Elysium every time since for me.

...but yeah, I haven't seen even 1 "doom damage" upgrade in a while now.

*edit----or maybe it's just more common on certain weapons during the run...?  Then again that incredible run I had with Shield; I had Doom damage stacked up like crazy.

  11. reminds me... the only Assassin's Creed game that ever interested me was "Origins", since the setting of ancient Egypt is always interesting to me... but even still (even despite the fact it constantly goes on sale for super cheap*), I never ended up buying it since there's so many other games that interest me more; the gaming landscape is insanely competitive for our time these days.

*another odd thing----imagine the suckers that buy that shit at the $130 level or worse that one with the monthly fee.... when it's a regular thing that all these AC games are always on sale for super cheap multiple times every year.  Very soon this same year, that shit will be on some random Xbox/PSN/Steam sale for 20 or 30 bucks...maybe 40 for the "Ultimate" edition....then again it will be on sale for that dirt cheap price again a few weeks later....and then on another sale a month or so after that... and so on.  It seems silly to ever pay full price for that franchise in particular when it's always on sale every time I see a sale.  We could predict it right now---it's safe to say this and Origins and Odyssey will be on the upcoming xbox "Summer Sale" whenever that is...then whatever they call the Fall one, the digital Black Friday one and Cyber monday....then the Christmas sale, etc.  It's guaranteed.

...oh and wasn't there 1 level of the game that involves a monthly price of 17 or 18 bucks?! 🤣  They know they can get away with it though since most gamers will roll over for anything like that dog in the burning house meme saying "This is fine."

  12. Vee posted a vid about Have a Nice Death recently; I have it on Steam Deck as well, it's a good one:

also I was back into Vampyr yesterday for a little bit... on Steam Deck; took care of that quick side quest where you track down some people that have been spying on Thelma (the woman that *claims* to be a vampire).... that's a missed opportunity there; would've been interesting to see what could've happened story-wise if you actually turned someone like her, making what was previously her delusion into her reality.

  13. Hades ---

Ok yeah---the SHIELD weapon is where it's at, folks.  I made it up to the fight with Hades already, and actually almost beat him on the first attempt, because my build was so damn good....I focused on stacking up "Doom" damage on the special (shield throw)...it was up to about 200-something.  There was also some passive that gave me bonus damage for the next 2 attacks after the special.  If I still had that last "death defiance" left I probably would've beat him.  I also kept stacking health upgrades; I had a bit over 200-something hp.

So yeah my top favorites now are pretty easy---(1) Shield, (2) Spear, (3) Arrows.  The fists weapon is cool; I always like that type of weapon in games but they just don't measure up to those top 3 in this game from what I'm seeing.

  14. Hades -  I finally beat the Hydra recently so I've been able to get to the 3rd area now....

I am still not sure why people downplay the spear; every time I play with that weapon the difference is almost night and day.... my attacks are generally "safe" because of the superior reach, it's fast, and it has that charge-up move that hits all around you....though I don't use that often; just the regular and special attack (the throw) are all you need.

It's been like playing for the first time, really... I had the game on Switch but it has been forever since I played that version.

  15. I'm just now realizing they brought this game back

I remember renting this back in the day on the first Playstation... the game was pretty funny because one of the enemies was legs/ass.....yes, a creature that was just a booty with legs... no torso or face...the booty was the "face" and it attacked by farting at you 🤣  I forgot if there was shit involved but pretty sure it had a fart attack.  I don't remember much else about the game....it seemed pretty damn tough as well; I never got far in the game.  It's on the Switch eShop right now.

ah it's on Steam as well so I might get it on Steam Deck then

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/2697470/POed_Definitive_Edition/

  16. No surprise it's a bitch from "M-town"

....then she admitted to buying combo meals for her and her boyfriend with the stolen money 🤣  The dude just wanted some head and was willing to pay for it...but the price ended up being his life.

...no, I never get tired of laughing and pointing out what a worthless pile of shit that "city" is.  It's astounding that so many of them continue to have some strange pride about being from there, rather than shame. (*I don't technically have to claim it since I was not actually born there...and fortunately I don't have the dreadful Memphis "accent" either; thank goodness for that.)
