  1. I've mentioned before that the odd thing to me was the guys from my generation that didn't play videogames.  I knew one personally at least, and it was just strange, considering it's not like he was from some poor family that couldn't afford it; they were at least middle class (*and even poor kids at the time would have been into games, since in the arcade era you only needed a quarter to play those....very low cost of entry to the hobby there).....missing out on an entire category of entertainment.  It's like a person saying "yeah....I don't like music."  Or... "yeah....I don't watch movies at all."  It's just bizarre and makes them the odd one, imo.

....but it is a generational thing to some extent though----like I could understand an actual "baby boomer" generation person being that way, since this industry simply did not exist when they were kids....they would only have been into comics and tv shows.

Interesting----he *did* specify "grown" people though....so he must be in that other category of people who think you should just STOP having fun with certain things when you "grow up" which is still strange to me if you're talking about video games.....to think once you get there "well, since I am in my 20s now so I'm not supposed to enjoy this anymore."  That's just weird and sad, imo.

  2. 540 hours later on the Switch version of Diablo 3....and here I am back into it once again... my seasonal character "Mold" is level 29 now.  (yep; partly inspired by my amusement about the moldy Fallout 76 helmet; that situation is hilarious forever to me...."mold" in general is also just one of those random things that has made me laugh since childhood....it doesn't make sense; it just cracked me up for some odd reason)

the latest Stellar Blade situation reminds me; I should make a character named "HARD R."

  3. That "men are useless!" clip sure is making the rounds lately on youtube... It would be funny if any future male guests of "The View" decided to cancel, citing the reason "WELLLL you ladies seem to think men are useless so apparently you don't need me on the show, I guess."

...followed by the guys who work on the show also leaving to get work elsewhere.

The viral topic of "I'd rather be alone in the woods with a bear than a man" is a bit more stupid though...that one was peak female stupidity there....it was delicious.

  4. the seasons in Diablo 3 are still going---- yep, I jumped into that yet again with a new character; already completed the "challenge rift" to start him off with a few million gold and resources, of course.  It's been a few months since I last played this.

...but of course later today or some time this weekend it will be Stellar Blade time as well.  It doesn't take up that much space, at least compared to the typical bloated mainstream game these days (ah this modern era where almost no one in the industry cares anything about compression)... Stellar Blade is 30 gigs.

  5. I recently bought The Darkness on sale on Xbox... it and the sequel are frequently on sale for super cheap prices, like 2 or 3 bucks usually.  Strange thing is that the character and concept and art/design always stood out as cool to me, though I never got around to buying the comics back in the 90s....kept putting it off but never got to it...I was all in on the hype of Spawn and some other Image books at the time.

....and WHERE the hell is Spawn in videogames these days?  I don't think he's been in anything aside from fighting game cameos in the past several years, and that's a shame.

  6. I wonder how many of these people enjoying the Fallout show jumped into the games out of curiosity thinkning---- "...hmmm...maybe I'll check out that latest one, Fallout 76... it's probably cool, right?"  Famous last words there 🤣  I still have no idea how anyone checked that out for even 5 seconds of research thinking it would be something good....other than hardcore Fallout fans that just happened to be desperate for anything new in the franchise at the time.

It's firmly in that "...not even if it was free." category for me....get that hilariously awful looking wack ass nonsense out of here.

Sometimes it's just fun to spew some hate, y'know?  This reminds me to check in on what's going on with the few remaining Redfall fans.... 😆  Good thing I made sure to dodge that disaster....such a shame though; I was interested in it at first.

  7. Interesting.... but this is already frustrating me because it appears like there is no character creation here...?!

I'll never quite get why superhero games with customization are such a rare thing.  I only remember there being ....three in all of gaming history!? (Freedom Force and... City of Heroes I think it was called...?  ...and then of course DCUO)  That's pitiful.  Just give us something more like DCUO again and again, where the player makes their own superhero *or* villain.....not sure why that's such a rare concept in videogames.  At this point even my precious vampire-related videogames have finally become more common than this idea.

....and again I'm wondering.... why is Marvel's weak bitch-ass NOT trying anything similar to compete directly with DCUO in all these years?  That game originally came out 13 years ago, and it's like they're too scared, dumb or unimaginative to bother trying.  Pitiful.

  8. BG3-- heh, one of my victims continues to stand out in memory of so many good times of my being unnecessarily evil in this game...a little dwarf shop owner that I had just completed a quest for...soon as that was over and I got my exp....we closed the doors of his shop so no one could be a witness... and he would become my first trial of using the "mind-blast" power (this looks really cool, btw...I love the visuals they use for the powers in this game).  He was just an ordinary citizen; low HP...so of course it instantly killed him.  Minthara would then have fun throwing his corpse around the shop for a while.  I also made sure to loot his corpse to get back an item I sold to him earlier.

On another note--- Warhammer Rogue Trader is on sale on Steam at the moment; I've been considering that one.

  9. Interesting----I just haven't got into Last Epoch *yet*...

He cites one problem being a lacking endgame situation... I was thinking it's the classic problem of there just being too much other good stuff out there at the moment that's still fresh.  I'm still hooked on Baldur's Gate of course...and then Dragon's Dogma 2 also just came out....and this is just 2 of the major games that have been released lately that can easily get people hooked for a long time.  Competition for the player/audience's time in the games industry at the moment is so much more than it once was.

  10. I recently found there's alternate "star moves" in Streets of Rage 4 that are unlocked in that brilliant Survival mode... I got Shiva's and someone else so far; usually Shiva is one of my regular picks so that is more fresh on my mind at the moment... his alternate is that cool move he does as a boss character, where he summons 1 or 2 ghost clones of himself as backup....and of course this gets extra crazy in Survival since there's a powerup you can get where your star move also summons missiles from the sky.

Yeah, randomized "Survival" mode in beatemups should just be a standard thing from now on.... it is one of the greatest new ideas anyone has added to the genre.

Random vid I just searched that has some good info/commentary about the greatness (and features the legendary main man Shiva)

ohhh I didn't realize "Fly Kick" was THAT damn good.... oh yeah that's getting picked next time for sure...

  11. Raxx has his review of "No Rest for the Wicked"

I'm loving the visual style of this game so far; I'll have to check it out soon....

*eh, not so sure I like hearing about the "gathering materials" thing... that seems to be a trend lately with games dishing out the "busywork" of cutting down trees and gathering stuff....usually that shit is just boring to me.  I just generally want good combat action and cool, interesting lore concepts and story.

*also it's concerning that he got thru apparently everything in such a short amount of time... they probably have more content planned though, I would assume.

  12. As always... I can't get enough of women making themselves look foolish for everyone to see (of course with "The View" being a never-ending goldmine of material)....it never gets old

It would be funny to see women try to get along and survive in a world where men either disappeared or just stopped caring at all about anything.  See what happens when the majority of police, fire departments and armed forces suddenly were to vanish from the world....along with construction/electricians and carpentry, pest control, engineering, tech industry and whatever else helped build the comforts of modern 1st world society that most apparently take for granted.
