  1. Imagine the possibilities in a few years.... who would even need Hollywood studios anymore at that point?  ...I could just direct the almighty AI to create whatever, all specifically catered to your own taste; just off the top of my head here:

    • The Originals, season 6, Vampire Diaries season 9... a "fixed" version of "Legacies".
    • Automan, with today's special effects.
    • New Silverhawks series.
    • Sectaurs: The Return. (an IP that has absolutely no chance, since I am one of perhaps 35 people in the world that remember it)
    • Unreal Championship
    • Viewtiful Joe
    • Dungeons & Dragons (continuing with the characters from the old 80s cartoon; new adventures)
    • Vampire the Masquerade series
    • Strider
    • Baldur's Gate - the continuing adventures of my characters, of course.

...and of course that's not even getting into any of the original ideas that could become reality according to whatever the user has in mind.  The list goes on and on forever.... effectively making the regular Hollywood tv/movies industry obsolete for me.

  2. haha I had forgotten about the "bored ape" character until that post--- that seemed to be the "face" of the strange, short-lived "nft" era.  That was funny that people were spending money on those thinking it would be worth something later.

...a shame that Modnation Racers is a dead IP now... I probably would've made "bored ape" one of my characters for a cheap laugh.  Modnation had everything in the game industry easily beat with superior customization on damn near everything.  The supposed king of the genre Mario Kart (nor anything else) wasn't giving us that.

*I had a dream the other night that traveling to other planets was a common thing, similar to when people hop on a plane to vacation in another part of the world.  In the dream, I was visiting some other planet and surprised to find out that phone calls to family back on earth still worked just fine for some reason.

  3. Fortunately for me there's not much temptation with that game anyway.... it's Star Wars but I'm not playing a primarily lightsaber-wielding, force-using character?  I can't choose to be a villain, it looks like?  It's a no for me, dawg.  There's just a few very simple things like that I look for in a Star Wars game, and it doesn't appear to be served up in this one, sadly.

...a good thing I hear that a new KOTOR is in the works; my friend has talked up that game for many years, and of course Baldur's Gate 3 finally got me a bit more open-minded about turn-based games.

  4. That SW character is a clear step up from the dog-ugly bitch in the new Fable game though....and the 2nd version of Alloy at least, with her strange "Nickocado Avacado as a ginger" porky face.

*I wonder if there will be customization in the new Fable game, actually... this was a complaint I had with the previous ones... that there wasn't much customization other than the clothing you wear and picking if it's a male or female character, if I recall.  The character's looks only changed depending on the morality of your actions, I remember....it was a frustrating mixed bag there; sometimes (heh, most times, really) I want to be an evil character while still looking handsome and cool.

  5. I always thought it was weird how many obvious lies people would come up with for Mortal Kombat back in the early years.... people saying random things and trying to start rumors like "I heard AL BUNDY was a hidden character in this one!"---and they'd say that shit with a straight face trying to start a rumor (or repeating the lie they heard from someone else)... or "In that forest stage, you can make it so one of those trees with the faces will eat the opponent as a stage fatality!" or "I heard HOMER SIMPSON is a secret character in there!"

Of course some of these are because back then, I happened to be friends with certain people who were habitual liars anyway though....the kind of people to just make up something so it sounds like they know more than everyone else in the room at any given time....so maybe that's it---the fact that there's just a lot of people out there that are like that.

On another note---Upper Echelon vid with Asmongold commentary here that is spot on...

....too bad that war has already been lost.  Most gamers (younger gens especially) are too short-sighted and apathetic to really care that much, so the large greedy corporations already have a "Checkmate." situation and that's that.  Most politicians are also still in the boomer generation (along with their constituency; look at the dinosaurs we have running for the Presidency AGAIN, btw) so they are unaware or just don't care about topics like this in first place as well.  So no, there is no hope.

  6. y'know... the lazy side of me is a bit annoyed that I have to complete a certain quest for those cool master skills in Dragon's Dogma... on the other hand that does kind of mix it up though, that since those are the top-rank stuff you'd have to do something extra in acquiring such abilities....anyway I'm still having fun here; just unlocked the seismic magic.  I've already seen the casting time is outrageous for those "Maister" spells though.

It would be nice to have more than just 4 spells/abilities... I keep thinking... why not more, since this is the modern era where the typical controller has so many buttons and combinations?  At the least I would've gone the route of having R or L allow you to access "alternate" button-mapped spells/abilities....so there would be your default actions like jump and dash, group 1 of spells/abilities when you hold down L, then group 2 could be if you hold down R, so this would at least give you 8 spells/abilities you can do in battle.

  7. Man that is something.  We all remember that this guy J. Majors' career was blowing up big time all of a sudden; he had become the latest "media darling"... that show Lovecraft Country (I loved that, btw; I haven't finished watching but I have the dvd), then he was in the Creed franchise and was all set up as the next major villain in the MCU.

...and then this one woman easily brings it all crashing down, of course.  Now----he'll be lucky to get randomly casted in those straight-to-tv Lifetime/We/Oxygen holiday romcoms where the smalltown girl is now a lawyer in the big city, then comes back home for Christmas and re-connects with her old high school boyfriend.....or miscellaneous cheaply made Tyler Perry films.

*This also annoyingly feeds right into an argument the typical "Hotep" "Black woman is God!" types out there that are against black people dating non-black people. (as if this situation couldn't possibly have happened if he was with a black woman, btw....we're supposed to pretend the so-called "queens" are always so perfect and superior, I guess.....yeah ok Dr. Umar and friends 🤣)

**edit----they seem to be more against black men dating interracially, of course.  When black women do it, suddenly they are suspiciously quiet about that or start up with various reasons why they don't take issue with that.

  8. ah, so Gears 6 has finally been mentioned and might be shown/revealed soon?!  Reforge is live right now with the question of will it be 30 fps...

I'm kind of surprised MS/Coalition decided to remember this franchise still exists.  I'll keep my expectations low, of course.

  9. That took a while but I finally ran into a griffin in Dragon's Dogma 2...oh yeah this was a step up in terms of how epic the battle was compared to the random ogres.  Right on time for this, I unlocked "prescient flare" spell just a little while ago, so that helped out big time in being able to finally do real damage....that and the "high salamander" fire spell when he was grounded + the attacks from pawns was melting his health.  This went fast; the griffin was barely able to fly around much or even do anything.

Reviewing the clip---I don't know if it was the last casting of "prescient flare" or the thief pawn going wild or the fire from the mage pawn triggering the flare I put on him, but something did some HUGE damage at the end...he was a little over 50+% of the last health bar and suddenly it was ALL gone instantly.

  10. I wonder if someone out there has made Jeff Epstein into a Dragon's Dogma character, since that customization is so good.... I bet someone out there has done it.  That's another part of the fun when there's a really good character creation system.  I just remembered there was a video of someone playing Saint's Row with a Barack Obama character; it was hilarious to me.

  11. Dragon's Dogma 2-- I'm loving it as much as the first one... my crew ran into some group of bandits that also had a mage or sorcerer....the others took the regular bandits and I crushed that fraud mage easily....she had no chance.  There's a certain satisfaction when seeing my ice spell launch the victim up in the air.  I think they take an extra bit of damage when hitting the ground too....then of course follow up with lightning while they're down.  I always like adding that extra bit of insult to injury by throwing the corpse somewhere as well.  I threw her into some ruined abandoned building.  "Dookor the Foul" sorcerer is up to level 15 now.

ooh, in reviewing a clip from recently, I just noticed one of the pawns picked up a block of the ice (after it shattered) I conjured up and threw it at an ogre.  Little details like that help make the greatness this has going on.

  12. yeah, the U.S. continues to be a clown show for so many reasons.  Imagine the reaction of past generations if you were to bring them here via a time machine, so they could see all the craziness that's going on with things like "no child left behind" among other things.  There's a lot of things that would have them thinking "whoah whoah....WHAT?!  What happened there?!  Why..?"  And imagine what things will be like say... 20 years from today?  There will likely be something so profoundly stupid going on that no one today can picture it yet.  It would be something that we'd all assume was a joke or a lie, but it will be real.

I wonder when it will finally come crashing down though... this society.  I'm convinced things will only become much more depressing and insane as time goes on.  At least we all have a front row seat to observe this ongoing Hindenburg disaster in real time.

  13. A real shame that Capcom has become one of those companies that is content to just sit on their old IPs forever... I was just remembering how much I enjoyed those Power Stone games.  Last thing that was out was the double-pack on  PSP.  I'm doubting they ever do anything with it again, just like Rival Schools and Viewtiful Joe....even with the modern trend of simply re-packaging old stuff as a "Re-release" compilation pack as a quick nostalgia cash-grab.

...but yeah, I played the hell out of Power Stone in the arcade when it was new, and of course it and part 2 were bought immediately when I got the Dreamcast later.  I would've loved seeing that and Rival Schools/Project Justice continue....such cool art and character designs, overall style and fun; I couldn't get enough.  Viewtiful Joe is still one of my top rank favorite games ever made.

  14. Oh yeah Double Dragon is on sale on Steam again, probably to coincide with that free update with new characters.

Nobody Saves the World is on a Steam sale as well.

Baldur's Gate--- I saved "True Soul Nere" in the Underdark recently and got one of those illithid tadpoles as a reward... now I'm considering killing the guy if we can, since I read somewhere you can get another tadpole that way.

  15. So I saw the mentions of "$100 for lunch" making the rounds lately on certain youtube channels

I'm wondering...  100 for lunch being a regular thing?  Maybe I'm just too much of a cheapskate for that; it seems silly, imo.  It's already crazy that little ol' "Chic-Fil-A" combos are now > 10 bucks these days.... (that grilled chicken sandwich combo, which is my favorite there, is 11 bucks and change)

...also who are the dumbass suckers that are willing to send 100 to a woman for her lunch... despite apparently not even being "with" her? (presumably not married to her)  ....not even getting anything out of it, most of the time, since they have zero obligations (so of course a lot of them are happy to take advantage of the situation for as long as possible in life)

  16. haha I already knew going into that link that the correct choice of Mario would not be the #1 spot on the list. 🤣

...and right behind Mario... Agent 47?  Really? 😆  ...and Sackboy?

**when is the last time we've even seen Sackboy?!  I forgot if he even got a PS4 game or not; he was in that Smash clone with the Playstation "all-stars" I *think* but I don't remember anything else recent.

  17. That new Joker in the Suicide Squad game looks awful... it's one of those that looks bootleg... like one of the "Jokerz" gang that's not really him but just some random goon pretender.  It is funny/odd though that 1 of his eyes looks "off", like Biggie.

Meanwhile, in Baldur's Gate--- I'm still pondering which path to take this character in Act 3 on... who to side with; it's actually quite a tough choice (and oh yes---both appear to be things an evil character would ally themselves with)....so in the meantime, I've been playing another character that's still in Act 1, doing stuff I missed earlier. (*if you miss the "Underdark" area, there's quite a lot going on in there)

Also---"Haste" spell, folks.... definitely go for that asap; I forgot when I got it for Gale but it's a simple thing that is incredible--- as DnD fans already know I'm sure, it grants an extra action per turn for whoever you cast it on....so you can imagine the powerful advantage that will give in battle, when you can easily do 2 devastating attacks (maybe 3 counting your bonus action) in 1 turn.

  18. ^Imagine, living the cursed life of a modern-day teacher in a typical American public school.  I bet the majority of those people are miserable for 99% of the time they stick with that horrible choice of a career.  I don't see any positives to it at all....literally nothing other than it's better than being unemployed I suppose....but that "better than nothing" category is in the same league as a fast-food job or being a "greeter" at Walmart....1 step up from nothingness is sad.

It's surprising we don't see more videos of teachers reaching a breaking point and going off on some raggedy, amazingly disrespectful "thug-in-training" student.

...yeah this also reminds me at the moment of the intense hatred for my "peers" back when I was a kid in school.

  19. I was looking at an old issue of EGM just now....yeah I still have plenty of those.... April of 1994 so 30(!) years ago...there was a video game starring Kirk Cameron that I forgot existed.  "The Horde" on 3DO....from Crystal Dynamics.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Horde_(video_game)

The "Arcade Action" section also spotlighted Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo ("EGM Exclusive!"), and the mysterious new boss character we'd later know as Akuma.

I never had that 3DO....I remember it was quite expensive at the time; 500 or 600 dollars, somewhere in that range.

There's also a preview of 7th Guest on CD-i... I wanted to get that one back then....and then I found out that like *most* of the CDi games, you needed an extra thing called the "Digital Video Card" which was another $250.  I think 7th Guest is actually on the Switch now.

*BG3 today---I found those 2 lazy asshole duergar in the Underdark... yep, we killed them.  The others didn't see it so...no consequences.

  20. Ha, of course they patch the damn PS Portal to shift it back to being a useless, joke piece of trash.  Really, I wouldn't even accept that contraption if someone was giving it away for free.

The amazing thing is that a lot of people apparently were actually buying it.  I bet some of the suits at Sony were even surprised. (and laughing)

  21. Random strange dreams....forgot if I mentioned this one before...

Recently, I had a dream that this woman my dad dated way back in the day was now married to this new guy who happened to be a multi-billionaire, and for some reason they were interested in going through the legal process to formerly adopt me as their son....and for some reason he happened to own an old navy ship; an aircraft carrier.  I had no idea why they were trying to adopt me but this dream was set in present time so it's not like I was still a little kid.  I wasn't sure on a response because it was such an odd request in the first place; they gave me a 1 dollar bill and let me hang out for a while on the ship to think things over.

...quite unfortunate I didn't realize this was a dream, since lucid dreaming is always a great thing.  She was smokin hot back then--- at least from what I remember she looked similar to that singer Sade.  heh, Dad definitely has good taste.

UPDATE---- I finally found the name/info on that horrid song I rambled about recently.  It played on the radio so I had my phone identify it (I've actually never used that function before)... It's "Free Mind"

It's mainly that short melody she keeps repeating that is trash to my ears....but that guy rapping/singing sounds terrible as well, imo

haha so I'm not alone in this opinion from what I see in the comment section....most of the comments were positive though but:

    Quote

"This has to be the worst RnB song I’ve ever heard and to read some people say this is the best is quite literally insane. Radio has y’all by the balls bro."

Yeah, this is str8 trash... was just talking about it with a friend the other day; the first time I heard this song I thought it was a song parody you might hear on something like Ricky Smiley Show or any other comedy radio show.
