Bison knew everything. That's why he was so chill throughout the game. Calm, and confident in his foresight. He 'died' laughing on his feet for a reason.

One important note about possibly going back to the Alpha series:
 
It means that Guy can finally use his ninja magic to seal Bison. After that happens, Deamos can stop being PsychoSexual, change his avatar and start wearing comfortable running shoes. As Guy's victory would seal the deal on Bomb Ass Sneakers > Psycho Power.
 
So lets hope that Rose is successful with her retcon.

Rose's character design is actually related to the Alpha series story. She is part of a time loop where she has gone back in time to try to thwart the ambitions of M. Bison. Rose's standing heavy kick and EX Soul Bind are designed to indicate her connection with M. Bison.

That's why M. Bison is still a very enticing and effective villain within the series regardless of the discrepancies surrounding him as a character and his position within the plot. 
 
He uses fellow human beings like tools to be cast aside, engineers and kidnaps people with the intention of making them mere replacement bodies, has no qualms about using underhanded tactics and has committed mulitple heinous acts without a single thought. 
 
All for the sake of being the strongest. That is in direct contrast to the other heroes of this series, mainly Ryu and Chun-Li: Ryu seeks to get stronger to improve himself as a person, Chun-Li uses her power to protect her family name and those who can't defend themselves. M Bison cheats and plays it easy instead of training the right proper way through honest work to grow strong. The fact he needs stronger bodies and replacements because his own bodies tend to not hold it in just goes to show how unnatural and disgusting this all really is. 
 
Gill and G at least seem to have altruistic motives, even if their methods and aspects of their persona are evil. Seth is a missed opportunity and Akuma is similar to Bison but not as well handed by Capcom. 

On the contrary, a fighter hungry for being the greatest of all time, so much that neither fate or death itself can stand his way. True power!

No. Rose outright tells Bison in Alpha3 that she used to call him Master. She was always his student until he abandoned her to pursue his dreams/her nightmares.

It's been staring us in the face for decades and people still hung on to bullshit that inevitably lead us into the Legend of Chun-Li movie. Curse you Plot Guide!

Good. Nothing good will come from a reboot. We've taken decades to almost reach SF3. All narrative problems can be fixed going forward via an intro/history of the major events and then every new installment just has to keep moving forward and keep things clear. I love Bison, but I do not need to see the alpha arc again, the SF2 arc again, meeting Akuma and the SNH for the first time again.

From what I've seen elsewhere, the response to a possible reboot has been received in a negative light

I'm praying the last DLC character is a Street Fighter character.

Nothing groundbreaking, but I gotta remember that for when Rose is out.

Man  I feel like we should get together a Street Fighter Lore Discord server where we can all hang out. It'd be great to be able to just casually chat with you guys and even maybe have a virtual Voice chat meet up or something. This thread has been part of my online existence for so long that I feel like that would be really cool and we might even be able to explore some cool story options there for sharing & spreading info (like coordinating SF wiki edits or something)

I seriously doubt the site will still be around if SF6 is announced. Story thread was the only thing keeping that forum alive.
