Thanks for the outpouring of love and support. I appreciate it so much ❤️. I wasn't wrong when I called all of you guys my fam way back then. 
 
My dream is to go out the way my dad did. I'll be pulling off a sick 99 hit combo and double perfecting Daigo in Street Fighter and then I'll just drop dead (humour is how I deal with difficult times) 
 
But jokes aside, if I should get into the 2nd beta of sf6, let's have some games shall we? Even though I live all the way in Singapore. I have strong Internet and I play wired. 😆

Wish the default control type is Classic instead of Modern. Got rekt playing my first ranked match because it was set to Modern by default. Switched the control type to Classic for Jaime and picked Ken and got rekt as well because I realised I have to change the control type to Classic individually. 
 
And God damn the netcode is amazing!! Played almost 20 matches and only had 1 that was slightly laggy. Also in awe at how SF2/3/4/5/6 and the alpha series play so differently and yet retain the Street Fighter flavour.

That's why I kept beating this drum here. By the time SF7 rolls around the next generation might not even have Classic Controls and Modern will be the new face of competitive. Everyone is Smash now.

Keeping Modern as the default is so wrong on many levels, and IMO a peak into the undercurrent that drives development here.

I still think it's because informed people have an easier time going to settings and switching it up than complete newbies would. There's no bigger, dystopian interpretation for this IMO.
 
It should obviously not be on a per-character basis though, that's a tad nonsensical.

Guys. A question. I managed to get into the beta on PS5 and one of my friends is really upset that he didn't get it. If I give him my PSN log in and password, will he be able to log in to play without issue?

None of my friends managed to get into the first beta, and now for the 2nd one,  only me and another guy got in. The rest (around 8 of them didn't get in).
 
Anyway, yeah, we'll be able to test how godlike the netcode is when we play together. Singapore to USA. ShinTwinblades incoming!!!😆

Thank you for sharing your story. Doctrine. Life's so unpredictable isn't it? We really have to treasure our loved ones, including our friends. Heck, even "forum friends" like everyone here. You never know when a loved one is going away. 
 
The hardest thing right now is waking up every morning and having to remind myself that dad's gone and I will never be able to see him for the rest of my life. It doesn't make sense that a healthy and strong man who eats healthy, has his blood pressure under control, takes long walks every morning can get a stroke out of nowhere. And just like your dad's friend, he showed absolutely no signs of having a stroke. We were talking to each other during the game, just enjoying a father and son bonding moment and God took him away even before the match was over. 
 
 
 
I've always dreaded this day since I was a kid. We had to write a composition titled "My family". I was just 10 years old then and I remember writing this "I wish I can die before my parents do because I love them so much and I won't know what to do without them."
 
I guess the pain I'm feeling right now is a testament to how much I love my dad. I wouldn't be in this much pain if I didn't love him.  I'll be carrying this pain with me for the rest of my life. 

Sorry for butting in out of nowhere, but has anyone dealt with a sudden and unexpected passing of a family member? I was watching the world cup with my dad and we were discussing the match, then i replied some messages on the phone, talked to dad some more and he dozed off during half time break. (Which is his usual thing to do)
 
Then he suddenly clenched his right fist and sounded like he was in pain for about 3 seconds, then his head drooped to the side and passed away immediately. My heart is completely broken. I witnessed all that and that scene is forever stuck in my mind. I'm a fighting game fan and I'm supposed to be looking forward to news of SF6 and Tekken 8 during TGA but all I can do is wonder what I could have done for my dad to save his life. It's been exactly 2 weeks and I'm still in a daze. I can't eat or sleep well. I can't focus on anything. My friends have been great emotional support but I'm at a point where I'm so broken and still in a state of shock I can't function. Dad had no serious illness and goes for medical checkups every 6 months (Blood tests, ECG etc). His tests results were always good. In fact he went for a full health checkup late October. 

I can't believe that I won't be able to see or talk to my dad ever again. I just don't know what to do. When I come back home and dad's not there anymore, or when I see things that I think my dad would like, it just breaks me that he won't be able to enjoy all these again. 

I'm personally looking forward to Wo Long in March because I love games like Nioh and Sekiro. 
 
And of course the biggest release would be Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. 
 
Also feeling positive about Wild Hearts and looking forward to Fatal Frame Mask of the Lunar  Eclipse/Legend of Heroes Trails to Azure.

I'm really sorry that this happened to you. Please do not beat yourself up. You had no control over the situation. There was nothing you could've done. Even though I'm saying this, most people would feel exactly the same way you feel.
 
Many yrs back, my dad's co-worker and close friend had come over to celebrate my dad's Birthday. This was something he usually did every year. He had been in the basement for about 10 mins before suddenly collapsing. He had a stroke. He was put on life support for a few days before the family decided to pull the plug. There were no signs leading up to this. It just happened out of nowhere. It was terrible. I didn't even get a chance to greet him before it all happened.
 
Life really doesn't make sense. We just never know what's going to happen. I'm glad you and your father had a great bond while he was here. Hold on to that and never let it go. As long as you do that, he'll never really be gone.
