This is not a jab at you, but I think that people got too accustomed to what is thievery and now when the right holders exert their right to protect their stuff, they get mad about it.
 
The excuse of "they are not making money from it"  is as dumb as a burglar saying that he stole your stuff on your storage room because you have not used it in 10 years.
Or someone using some land that you own to build a house and trying to say that because you have not done anything with it in x amount of years that there shouldn't be a problem.
That shit wouldn't gonna fly with anyone, so dunno why in the case of intellectual properties people want to pretend it will.

My stance for most of this has been asking you guys to justify stealing other people's stuff, regardless of the law and the best any of you can give me is "Well like...they don't make money on it anymore so I should just be able to just...give it away for them" as if that justifies taking someone's thing and doing whatever you want with it.

It's an accurate take. When it comes to fan projects they like to think of AM2R and the streets of rage remake but those projects are expectations. 

Not to mention that anything that makes nintendrones, specially the smasher variant bitch and moan is great in my book

Hot take: Most of those fan projects actually suck and those developers would be better spent making their own new IP instead of ganking someone else's.

New Kirby game is good.  It's pretty much exactly what you would expect.  Just solid fun 3D platforming with the charm/polish you would expect.  Nothing ground breaking or anything at all - just solid fun.
