Khan's redesign is lame as hell, with those shitty horns and keeping the dragon scales on his arms like in MK11, but his gameplay looks sick, as does Sindel's. I hope Sindel is not evil like MK11 and they revert her back to the good side, even tho I don't mind her being more brutal to her enemies. Motaro and Shujinko are cool Kameos. Pretty nice overall.

I guess I'm more forgiving of Asherah because the hype of her back outweighs her looking lame. Not to mention her gameplay actually looks sick. With Tanya we already had her back in MKX so when they fucked her up it was sadder, since you'd expect an improvement over the last iteration.

Human Reptile is a big plus. The fact he turns into dr. Connors is kinda lame. I would've preferred he exhibit only mild reptilian features, but he's better than the previous games.

Ashrah... well, like Tanya she suffers from ugly-motherfucker face, but I am glad to see her back. 

Havik looks meh at the moment but I think he'll develop into something better during the story mode.

Edit: Scratch that. I just watched the trailer again. Havik is awesome. I just miss his helmet. 

Bird looked on point. Dominated easily. 

Azucena or however you call her looks pretty lame, but man, Namco doesn't shy away from making characters from countries that haven't been represented in other games. Wish Capcom would start doing that more often. The closest they've gotten, they've bitched out and made the locations "unknown".

As Kronika's lackey, I hated Geras, but his new, simpler design and his advisory role to Liu Kang made me like him a lot more here. It's good to see him back.

I wonder who the new threat is. It must be Onaga. He's the only villain who did not appear in the previous era, so Liu Kang would have no clue to neutralize him, as Geras put it.

Overall the stories are looking good though. Hoping story mode in this game will be the best it's been in awhile.

 

 

Makes sense two of the fugliest bitches in Edenia couldn't get anyone else but eachother.

Happy Li Mei is back and her fatality is awesome, but everything else looks like total garbage.

Announcing a Kombat Pack before even the final roster is an insult. Filling it with a two Superman clones is even worse. Giving Ermac the lamest, blandest design imaginable is also a huge minus. 

Raceswapping Tanya, giving her the most horrendous design with those fucking sausage tendrils coming down her face and changing her main weapon to whatever the fuck that is. Poorest reimagining of a character I've ever seen. She was perfect in MKX. Just have Jade in if you want a black staff weilding girl. Or at the very least make her look good. She was always dark skinned so making her black is whatever, but that hairstyle and outfit is a fucking joke. 

The story looks cool, but weird. I like Baraka in this. The whole virus spin might turn him into a character with a bit more agency. Still weird how they push Tarkatans being just those misunderstood different race in Outworld, who deserve pity. Sometimes monsters should just be monsters that are out for blood, so you are more than entitled to eviscerate them. Seems so... preachy.

Guess Darrius being back is cool too. He's not really one of the more memorable characters from the 3D era, but he never was out of place either. He was just a bit bland, but that works great for a Kameo. 

I want to see Kai in. He's the only MK4 character who hasn't had a second chance at redemption and he was probably the best out of them. Jarek is just a Kano clone so he can never appear again in my book, but Kai deserves it. With how cool Fujin turned out in MK11, he'd certainly steal the spotlight with some of that care.

The new Kenshin looks great but I'll wait till its finished to watch it. Binged watched the old series and all the movies last year, so I'm not dying to rethread it again so soon.

Hugh Jackman is the sexiest man alive and all, and I'm sure they want to celebrate getting him for one last ride... but I really hope they put a mask on him too, at least for the action scenes. If you're going to do the suit, go all the way! 

The Flash is pretty bad. The CGI is the worst I've ever seen and the time travel doesn't make much sense. However, it has its moments. Keaton is great and I liked seeing Zod back in action, showing how truly unstoppable he was. And considering he didn't even shed his armor like in Man of Steel, the heroes were more than fucked without Supes. Also, the gag when Barry loses his powers and runs in circles was pretty good.

But I must tell you, there's a scene halfway through the movie recapping Barry's mom death, where Barry as a kid is doing his homework and she sends the dad away to the store... the way the scene plays out is very weird. I felt like she was sending him away so she could fuck Barry. Very poorly written. 4/10.

Yeah, but the General Shao tidbit is too out there to be just a guess, so things might have changed behind the scenes between when the leaker got the info and actual development started.

Oh, I saw this before but never realized Shao Khan was supposed to be "General Shao". This is a great roster. Kind of too great to be true. Guess we shall see.

This game looks so slow. I always watch YT videos on 2x speed because i don't have time to waste, but with these MK videos that are put out during these Stress Tests, I tried to watch them regularly and man, everything looks so floaty. They can't get their animations straight for this franchise to save their lives. So sad that the terrific graphics these games show, which are unquestionably top-notch, are bogged down by this stuff. They had this same problem since MKvDC, but I gave them a pass then, since MKvDC was poor in all respects, MK9 was their first game in a long time, MKX looked like shit in general... but after MK11 it's crazy. The graphics leap between those two games is not as high as in the previous iterations so they could have tried harder to improve on this stuff.

It's crazy how effective Sub-Zero's MK1 head rip fatality is. This is exactly what I was talking about last time I mentioned jt. You can make the fatalities simple and let the camera angles, sound effects, right timing and great graphics do the work. You don't need to go turn the characters into jello to be brutal and visceral.

Also the Ultras are the craziest. There are many throws Abel uses that actually emulate judo pretty well. His regular throws, his air grab and the final hit of his rekkas come to mind. His command throw is kinda whack, but even that's still somewhat belivable.

Ho, man. This is a loaded question, but I'll give it a shot.

Ibuki would be cool, so we can visit her ninja village and maybe learn more about the G project and what that entailed. Alternatively, having Karin in and use the the Kanzuki ninjas as a way to learn more about all the ninja clans in the SF world, like Ibuki's and Geki's from various NPCs that would be around who could have history with them.

Gen, with a Lee NPC in his district could be cool, so we can learn of their exploits together in their youth and Gen's past as an assassin. Here you can include a lot on Yun and Yang as well, especially if you include Lee's restaurant as a location. And we can get some more info on Dorai and his entanglements with Shadaloo that Chun-Li wouldn't be privy too.

Oro, so he can teach the NPC all about the various forms of Ki and get some definitive explanation of all the different martial arts styles, like Mu no Ken, Satsui no Hado and Psycho Power. It would be fun to bribe him with naughty magazines, since he's also a little pervert, harking back to Muten Roshi.

Rose, because we could get a lot of info on her past with Bison and clear up a lot of misinformation from the past. And you can just expand Marisa's district to include more of Italy in it, so you wouldn't have to start from scratch.

Urien, so we can visit all the labs where Twelves are being created and places like that and get a better look inside the Secret Society and more information about their history.

I think this is a good cast of popular characters with real chances to get in, who make sense timeline wise and fit the purpose of WTM of giving us more trivia answers and background info into the world of Street Fighter, rather than advancing the plot in any meaningful way. 

To advance the plot there are many characters that need to get in, like G, but having their mysteries solved in side quests in WTM doesn't seem to be the best way to realize those stories.

JP's backstory is so lame, it ruins a terrific design. Jobbing to the CaC isn't helping either. Too bad. But with Ed coming later, I'm sure there is more to him. The story seems far from over, too many lingering questios.

The WTM interactions with the characters are AMAZING! Its really incredible how much detail is put into it. 

I'm curious about the Lily stuff. If its really about Necalli, I'm all for it. He deserves a second chance.
