Vesper's new video talks about DLC Seasons being themed and bundled with a new locale for the year. The example they gave was a "Shadaloo season featuring the 4 kings" sold along with "Shadaloo Island".

A season would not only unlock new characters, but additional areas of the open world mean new and expanded degrees of customization for your avatar. A season pass would resemble a small expansion pack more than a character pass.

And it wouldn't necessarily affect the fighting in ranked. You can still opt to only purchase the characters and ignore the World Tour aspect.

Is this from Capcom or is he just speculating? Sounds pretty awesome, if true. I can already envision:

Shadaloo Pack: Balrog, Vega, Bison and F.A.N.G/Decapre, Shadaloo Island as location, with different areas like the Secret Laboratory from SF4 or SF5.

Kung Fu Pack: Yun, Yang, Fei Long and Gen/new character (Gen's apprentice?), with Hong Kong locations, including a cool movie studio with DRAGONS, like Fei's SF2 stage.

Kanzuki Estate Pack: Karin, Birdie, Ibuki and R.Mika, with a Kanzuki lands area, including Karin's house and Ibuki's clan.

And I can already think of more but don't want the post to get to big.

  2. I think G and JP are the same person, so it's intentional on Capcom's part to leave it ambigous in that shot, knowing nerds would dig for it and ask that question. G is the American persona, while JP will be the Russian persona. After all, G was SFV's "boss" and JP is SFVI's. I expect a tweaked moveset, same as between G and Q, but evoking that same style.

I was just about to post this lol. I LOVE these! not only are they charming examples of the character's personalities, but it's showing Capcom is in a good place with SF, to be able to just have some solid FUN with the series again. If Q or G are in this, I'd love to see what wacky animations they'd have for the walk down the runway and what options they'd have for the game face. With Q, you'd have to get creative, but it could be fun.

With Q they should just have him miss the walkdown. Lights go out. And he just comes out on the VS screen.

  4. So i watched Shaman King, both series back to back. I must say that I much prefer the old anime's pacing. Sometimes these character and their evolution needs more room to breath. The new series is crazy fast. That worked for me when watching the introduction part, which is the same between both series. It served as a nice recap, with the proper changes made to accommodate the later developments. However, once new material kicks in, I felt like everything was going crazy quick. Not all of it needed expanding, but there's certainly a couple of parts that I wish they took more time to develop. However, the 2021's show's later half blows the old story out of the water with ease and makes the show worth to watch. Many characters get much better development, including villains and the story is simply more entertaining. The old show's later half is a slog to get trough. The biggest change for me comes with Lieserg. I despised him in the old show, but the new one actually got me to tolerate him.

All in all, I prefer the old show's first half, before it diverges from the manga, better than the new show, but the new show has a much better later half, so it evens out. However, I go with the new show, for the best experience, if I were to chose.

One other thing, while the old show has a very choppy 2000's animation style, with barely any movement at all, I can't say the animation of the 2021 version is much better. I expected a lot more sakuga, but it's not that much better. Of course, it's much prettier than the old show, but I found it to be lacking in some aspects. Maybe I had too high expectations.

    Looking forward to Flowers.

I never got around to reading the final arc (they should animate that one day) or the last two live action movies. I'll pick a day to catch up on Kenshin.

Shit was my jam back in the day

The last two movies were great. Especially the prequel one. I'm watching the Trust and Betrayal OVA now and I must say I prefer the movie version.

I remember Rourouni Kenshin anime having alot of filler, and they never got to adapt the last arc. Gotta pick select parts, (and make sure you watch the illegally so the mangaka doesn't get a dime)

Yeah, I've basically finished all canon material by now. There's a couple more episodes at the end which are adaptations, according to this  list https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/rurouni-kenshin. I'll try to skim trough the rest, but what interested me, the Kyoto arc, I've already finished.

  7. I've watched the 2021 Rurouni Kenshin movies in an airplane recently and got hooked, so I started watching the old anime and man, am I disappointed. It's not nearly as good as I remember it being when I was a kid. Loved the 2 live action movies, though. Will give the other 3 a shot too. And the OVA's. Those look interesting. It does look like a story better told in movie format that serialized, because the good stuff is clearly there... but the anime is just a chore to get trough.

  8. Man, they made Guile look gooooood. Even more, I think in game he actually looks better than in the concept art, so that makes me even more excited to see the other characters in action. Stage looks sick too.

I honestly can't understand where all of this spark was during SFV's lifetime. It just seems so simple and natural and easy to get people excited about Street Fighter. It's fucking Street Fighter after all.

European female MMA character - similar moves to Abel = Either Mimi, or Marisa.
    Black female ninja = Kimberly

man who fights in an orange suit = Jamie
    East Asian assassin = AKI

    Elderly fighter = JP

To be fair, Kanzuki is FAR more cautious and organized than Ken is.  It's entirely possible that trying to steal the Kanzuki fortune would simply fail.

I think the orange suit man is JP and the elderly man simply hasn't been leaked yet. If the leak is right there's still 3 more characters, one of which would be Rose. The other two might be the aforementioned elderly man and some other, possibly Li Fen, or whoever the gal fighting Chun Li in the trailer is. Though I think she's just some generic fighting girl model that you'll use in World Tour mode and they're using that to showcase you getting trained by the actual Street Fighter characters.

I was thinking that it might be that JP is responsible for Ken loss of financial assets and the guy being tied with secret society also.

Or probably Ken's family is being kidnap or something that's why he ended up like that, Just like in ties that bind but the situation here is more critical.

I don't really think divorce is something Capcom would put on Ken's story and SF game. Capcom is more on retiring Ken than deconstructing his character with divorce.

If the Secret Society went for Ken's fortune, who uses it FOR FUCKING NOTHING, while passing on the Kanzuki Estate after the events of Street Fighter V, they're the dumbest fucking shadow villains in the universe lol

  11. So, am I the only one feeling a connection between G and JP?

One's an american president type figure, while the other is a russian aristocratic / tzarist looking figure. Basically, both look like the highest class of their representative countries of "origin".

Both are ominous fellows and certainly with similar goals.

Could they be the same guy? Or part of the same organization?

We already speculated when G came out that he shows himself in the Lincoln aesthetic to americans to gain their trust, while he might show a different facade in other places of the world. Could JP use a similar strategy, but to russians? Maybe he's just one of G's multiple personalities.

And, of course, could JP be tied to the Secret Society? We kinda already know that he uses Psycho Power. Maybe he's the former Emperor?

So interesting, this guy! I love a good villain design man! I feel you can make up all kinds of crazy stuff.

This period of speculation until the actual story comes up is the best.

  12. I like that they're taking risks with their characters, like making Ken downtrodden.

I admit, the realistic style looks better than I thought it would and it being highly stylized and the graffiti style they go for in this game make it feel pretty recognizably Street Fighter, even though it's new.

I think the over stylized  redesings are a bit weird, but as we saw with the Cammy leak, most are probably getting classic costumes anyway so not much of a problem.

This is the first time all the newcomers in a Street Fighter game are great. I especially love JP. Even Luke seems great... too bad SFV's version of him kinda stole his thunder.

Am I the only one who feels the newcomers are taking some inspiration from ARIKA's page in character desgins? Even stuff like Chun-Li's redesgin reminds me of that kung fu chick from Fighting Layer.

I remember this! Everything starts and ends with HNK!

Waiting for Bison to return with a new Matoki aura technique to utterly dispel Ryu's foresaken Musou tensei! Bison has put in the training and Ryu will be so ill-prepared for this new evil in SF8!?

I read that as foreskin and the sentance made too much sense. Had to do a double take.

I liked this movie, but didn't like it as much as No Way Home. Maybe that'll change on a second viewing.

      Reveal hidden contents

I'm concerned about the Multiverse. It seems like it COULD end up being what Nanomachines were in Metal Gear Solid 4. A bandaid for everything. Even though the Illuminati is composed of the members it had in the movie, they kinda felt like yellow flag here. I have a sinking feeling that the Multiverse is going to get pimped out until nothing means anything anymore.

But that's me pearl clutching. I thought similar "nothing matters anymore" stuff after The Eternals and still enjoyed the hell out of No Way Home.

I too share this opinion, but I think I can see where they are going with it

    Spoiler

I think once they are done with the Multiverse storyline, they're going to use a big Incursion to collapse most of the universes into 616. Of course, they'll keep some other Universes to keep the door open to new versions of existing characters, but once they actually move on to something else and are done with the concept, they'll just keep it in the background.

  15. Just got back fron watching Dr Strange.

For a bit of context: After Endgame I haven't watched ANYTHING Marvel. (CB related for that matter) Not even FFH, even though I intend to eventually. I just don't give a shit about the direction they're taking the Universe in at the moment.

That said: this is the best fucking Marvel movie. I'm not joking. It's incredible! If you've seen the spoilers and hated the sound of them, you'll be surprised how good it's actually executed. If you loved them, you still have no clue what's in store for you.

And there's one reason for this: Sam Raimi. This motherfucker just oozes talent: he brought everything out of these actors to make them as sympathetic as possible, he put his directing experience to incredible use in such a fitting way for this story and it's the best cinemarography in a Marvel movie baaaar fucking none. There's no shot that's not memorable.

Without this incredible direction, this movie would've been a mess. But as it stands, it's going to top the world, I swear.

I remember, Before the first time I have seen her without knowing Cody backstory and not being translated yet. I thought she was Poison in disguise. lol

I think it's hinted she's Jessica or something. His story certainly makes her seem like someone from his past looking out for him. At least, that's what I gathered from it. If it's not Jessica, I don't know who else might be. Cody doesn't have any history with anyone else. Even if it's not Jessica, Marlowe really isn't just what she looks like.

Looks like they don't hate all redheads. Just saw the latest episode of Batwoman. The real Poison Ivy finally showed up. Looks like Batwoman is turning around. Also, in episode 9 and in episode 10 of Legends, the real Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher) will be showing up!

    Legends is still going???
