A folder of the entirety of Capcom Design Works for anybody who's interested. The pictures light look low res from the preview images but downloading them will have them at a higher quality.

I think this has to be my favourite picture especially for the novelty of seeing Ryu, Dan, Morrigan and the original Megaman cast in the MMX/Tech Romancer artstyle.

Nah, they are bent on having the Street Fighter Reddit be about competitive stuff, frame data, and tech and they get salty when Chun-Li pics and other fan art get hundreds of upvotes, while replays and results of a CPT tournament never gets discussed.

So they're joyless nerds. Which is pretty par the course for most Reddit users. Joyless, nerdy 4chan rejects.

I've been waiting for Vapor Cannon to be as satisfying as 02's since Kof 13 and now this!?

The sad thing about Maxima is that he's very much a one trick pony. He has nothing other then his rekkas, Vapour Cannon and Bunker Buster and the last two only work in limited circumstances. The only reason he's decent enough in 2000 and XI is less because of his toolset and more because the overall system of that game work to his benefit as he has failsafes in the form of the striker and shift mechanic to fall back on. Losing moves over the years haven't been helping him. Basically, SNK need to work on diversifying his move set (most grapplers in KOF need this too actually) to actually be somewhat viable.

Which is sad because I think Maxima is a good character in story/design but most of his "fans" are horny women or people who just see him and Whip as side objects to K' and Kula so people are quick to point fingers and claim him and a bunch of other characters like Andy and Joe as "filler" in places like cursed bird app.

  4. Looking at those early threads and seeing that some people here have been discussing SF/fighting game stories since 2002 is really something to behold and admirable that the community here hasn't seemed to fallen under any bs drama apart from Vasili or when we all migrated here as what usually happens when a community lasts this long.

I'm pretty sure Maxima was deconfirmed.

Kula is a given but I want it to be Whip as the 3rd member, I just can not see it being Angel. The 2002/3 formation of the K' team was my favourite of his teams.

Kukri is difficult to place, I figured he'd be in the rivals team but at the same time, that last team would probably go to him. I can't imagine they'd unveil a new team this close to release date and it makes sense with Kukri being propped up as a rival to Shun'Ei. As for Ash's 3rd team member, they'll probably reuse Oswald.

Most people here do not know KOF.  They don't know the struggle.

If you want a steady group of people to talk KOF and other SNK titles like SamSho or Metal Slug, you better be fluent in Arabic/Spanish/Portuguese or an east Asian language. KOF has never hit it big in the west.

I fucking hate his annoying ass.

Fighting him it's like trying to catch a particularly annoying mosquito.

Have you people not played XIV or what?

I was mind broken into playing as him for a while after jobbing mercilessly to Kukri players. He and Mian are probably the two newcomers I wanted to see return. The latter has potential if they expanded more on her mask gimmick and carved her out as a fighter in the vein of Jhun and May Lee but I don't think SNK as they are now can pull that off.

In other news; XI, NGBC and Neowave have finally gotten big strides in giving them GGPO support on Flycast, which is only worth pointing out because XI hasn't had a modern re-release to my knowledge.

Hopefully if there's no Angel on release I can make Shermie work as point.

I've hear rumblings from twitter that the Chinese version of the website mentioned Kula and Angel supposedly before it got scrubbed. Probably a rumor. I really can't see Angel working with K' though, that'd be a level of bs and make no sense for those to ever want to work with the same lady that made an attempt on Kula and Foxy's life.

As the days pass by, I feel more uncertain on the fate of certain characters. The bios and "Liberty" theme imply that Kim and Gang-Il are returning likely.

  8. That character select screen reveal sure shattered my expectations and not exactly in a good way. I hope the DLC stuff becomes part of the game soon rather than being a pre-order bonus but it does feel like a letdown after XIV. I plan to get it digitally anyways so having original Leona who I prefer to the new Leona is a decent bonus.

I noticed that the patterns on the cornrow girl's clothes resemble patterns usually seen in Maghrebi/Andalusian clothing similar to Kukri. It's possible there could be a link established, he could even be their 3rd team member or even Najd to serve as the "rivals" team. As for Heidern, it's likely they might reuse the DLC characters so he might be with Whip or K'.

  9. The only reason I even know about that trash film is because some racist prick I met thought that Libya was a country made up from that film when they learnt I was Libyan.

Anyways, There should be a segment where Chang and  Choi drink magic potions to become their Cool/Smart striker versions like in Shrek.

Krizalid on the other hand is lame as fuck. He's not intimidating, his moveset is kinda boring... he's basically crazy K' and, much like how Orochi Iori and Leona are sub-bosses, Krizalid feels the same way.

I agree with everything you said, except that part. I think the fact that he's only small fry does well for him. His moveset works well when you contrast him with K', the names of his attacks and the animations paint him as more desperate and unhinged than the confident and cool aura K' and Maxima emit. He was a victim of NESTS who was groomed and filled with ideas that he was better than everybody else and then thrown away when he no longer was useful to them. That he goes from quiet and proud to begging for his life.

I think the English localisation is to blame for some people misunderstanding Krizalid. In the Japanese version, his way of speaking is still haughty but somewhat sombre and he doesn't scream "Oh the treachery!!!" and seethe. He actually accepts the facts Whip tells him while it genuinely pained her to see him die and learn the truth. He's compassionate enough to have formed a bond with Whip (and his co-workers as his bios point out) It's also why it's worth pointing out that the Krizalid in 01 is just a clone with none of his memories. So assuming SNK does right by XV's story, we might see Krizalid gaining his own sense of individuality and break out from his past if he returns.
