Shoto for me has always meant bread and butter character whom anyone can pick up and easily learn the game with and do relatively well. Thats generally been true. Not always but generally.

So Ky and Sol would be GGs Shotos.

The Mishimas would probably be Tekkens Shotos, but not in Smash. That's Mario and Luigi imo.

The irony being that Charge-Type characters were created specifically to be the beginner friendly characters, without the hassle of motions, much less the O.G. SRK (all 3 inputs required).

Shotos have always been the main long range zoning characters.

They're not the easiest to play, imo.

Man Samus goes through more changes on a cellular level than even Bruce Banner.

The Chozo enhanced her strength through cellular manipulation. Then she becomes corrupted with Phazon. Then she has to play host to the X Parasite which even further altered her DNA. The only reason she’s probably even still alive now is because of the way the Chozo groomed her into a super human.

Much like how she could absorb bits of the parasite in Fusion, I assume she can still take advantage of it somehow with her altered DNA.

Her DNA ultimately gets altered to where she can bend space-time, and she falls back millenia,to become the 1st Chozo.

    The Chozo One, as were.

I watched that documentary on He-Man the other night and they were saying that it made making the movie real difficult because Mattel insisted that He-Man couldn't kill anyone because it was part of his good guy image. I still havent seen that movie and I was pretty into He-Man as a kid.

Today I learned that I am probably not a hero.

DC asked the #HarleyQuinn team to remove a scene from Season 3 in which Batman performs oral sex on Catwoman. Why? "Heroes don't do that" @justin_halpern @PMSchumacker https://t.co/BSpuc1rjKE pic.twitter.com/jMOC2J6H22

TIL that I most definitely am not a hero.

It's not based on speculation. You get a large portion of the story by what happens in game,  listening to NPCs, and reading item descriptions. There's speculation around the edges, like deeper dives on Cainhurst or what happened to the groups of people in the chalice dungeon areas, but beyond that, the story isn't speculation at all.  They don't beat you over the head with it but it's an amazing story especially compared to dmc3's, but again, they're completely different types of games, and no one should expect DMC to have a story like Bloodborne. If you don't have the patience for it that's fine, but that doesn't make Bloodborne's story bad/non-existent and dmc3's story "great."

    Yup.

Dark Souls levels of bullscatulation (tm) it ain't.

That Edgelord, try hard Final Fantasy Stranger of Paradise game

I failed to discern much difference.

The Edgelordishness (tm) is perhaps a bit sharper than it was in FFXV (pick a connotation), granted.

But once you've hit the actual slums of the slums of FFVII, you've pretty much hit absolute, or, dare I say, FINAL Etropy.

    No more magic.

Just a bunch of gay rocks.

    Maybe a boy band.

My main issue with River City Girls was it’s hit detection was often times absolute garbage.

You've pretty well and precisely hit upon why I don't buy Kunio games anymore.

I absolutely adored RCR... but that was because it was a 2P RPG Best 'em Up... on the NES, that I could play with my little brother.

The 3DS one only served to illustrate that whilst the graphics might be smoother, the gameplay has not advanced at all, and has aged badly.

    Those hitboxes are pure garbage.

Scott Pilgrim was lesser than NES RCR too. Imo.

I AM mad hype for the new TMNT game.

Until then, I've SoR4, and trying to get S clears with everyone.

that is surprising; I never expected there would be a sequel to Aragami, actually... I still haven't gotten far in the first one yet but I enjoyed what little I've played so far.

On the Diablo front... Ethereal items?!?

...not so sure I like the idea of them being temporary though---they degrade eventually and cannot be repaired.  I know how oddly picky the Diablo fanbase is though, and a LOT of folks probably would've complained about another new higher tier of items pushing the powerlevels even further.

...heh, that's another one for the "unpopular opinions" topic I suppose... I LOVE the "power-creep" issue that tends to happen with most rpgs....it puzzles me why anyone would ever want to go backwards in evolution....to me it's like saying "hey, you know what would be cool in the next Dragonball series?  What if Goku and the other saiyans couldn't hit god power anymore, and everyone was powered down..."  nah bruh, fuck THAT.  This is a POWER fantasy.  I want my characters to be absolutely ridiculous when they hit level-cap and get optimized gear and build.

Diehard Diablo fans are the worst, most unpleasant cunts imaginable.

They insist that Resurrected remain exactly the same, despite the fact that D2 was a horribly imbalanced mess that succeeded all but in spite of itself.

And every single one of those hypocritical moist taints who decried power creep, ran a fucking Hammerdin.

FYI for everyone that has FFVII Intergrade. Apparently the game has a new/extended ending. I may play the last chapter to find out. Honesty, I need to replay FFVII:R from the beginning just to remember how to play the game. Not the whole game, like just maybe the first chapter 🤣 Haven't played it in like 10 months.

Side note: Sony's cross gen situation is ass. So games don't have cross progression at all and the ones that doe are pain the ass. Let's take FFVII:R for example. You have to upload a single PS4 save from the PS4 version of the game. Boot the PS5 game and download it. Then repeat the process for every fucking save file. Sony WTF.

It is even worse, when it is a game like Borderlands 3.

    Only one save..

Sucks to be a fan, I guess.

Because each character... is a save.

    True story.

and yeah - it is nonsense.

    You mean Super Powers period?

Edit: I would also argue while both are emotional in the moment, one of them is still clearly far more level headed and still thinking while the other one is going on raw emotion and pure gut response and isnt really thinking about anything he is doing or else yea...he would has used his abilities to see jumping right then was a stupid ass idea.

Thats what i would argue anyway. Super powers arent super helpful when you dont really tap into their full potential and just flail around like a brat having a temper tantrum which....well...

Except rage is pretty much the trump card of the Sith.
