I been using dating apps for the past month or so and it’s depressing how similar and nondescript every profile is. Literally 90% of the profiles are some combination of
 
Dogs
Food
Hiking
Traveling
Wine/The bar
 
If I see any more than two of these in one profile I have to fight the instinctive urge to immediately swipe left. My personal feelings on any of those things aside, (with the exception of hiking) stuff like this doesn’t tell me anything about you as a person other than you’re basic as fuck and that I can swipe on 10 more versions if you in the next two minutes.
 
I’ve always thought apps were a waste of time but one of my female coworkers convinced me to try it. It’s always hilarious trying to talk to her about my experience because you can see in her eyes that she just doesn’t understand the struggle.

I want to develop a game where it's the Street Fighter roster as a team, Nintendo's Smash roster, Tekken, the Philadelphia Eagles, the classic rock bands from Guitar Hero, the zombies from TLOU, the Vex from Destiny, the Nazis from Battlefields, Manchester United, and the Sith if you buy the DLC. This is a team battle game that takes place on an NFL field where the object is to score touchdowns while driving super acrobatic rocket-powered battle cars. But everyone has their special abilities intact, so Ryu can hadouken Darth Vader, zombies can bite sonic from Smash, Slash from GnR can deafen everyone with his righteous guitar shredding, etc.  There are also ? boxes that have special items in them, but they only unlock if you have enough credits. You can but credits with real money. After every game you can allocate XP into whatever stats you want, including cosmetic things like being trans. Oh, and it's always online only.
 
The game is called: Metroidvania: The Game.

I fucking hate the term "metroidvania" so much, it legit means nothing now.

Like all these games are similar in the vaugest way. Yes if you use Metroidvania as a catch all for any game with an adventuring element to it then yes they are all Metroidvanias, or Souls Likes. 
 
Like sure Souls level design is "Metroidvania-ish" in that they encompass distinct locations that wind around on eachother. But that's just like....fucking level design. At that point DOOM is a Metroidvania. 
 
And Hallow Knights Benches function as checkpoints and a place to equip charms which makes them an analoge to Bonfires and spell slotting, but that's really just a checkpoint system. I basically just described a Resident Evil Save Room.  Hollow Knight doesn't have Stat allocation, gear to equip and move around short of the Charms which are more accessories then actual gear systems. Yoy don't level up or anything. It also has the Bloodstain Mechanic in the form of the Knights Shade but it works differently then Bloodstains do, and tho the point of it is the same it doesn't work out as nearly as big a deal since Geo is no where near as important as Souls/Bloodtinge/Runes/whatever. 
 
Hollow Knight does tell its story in a relatively  passive way like Fromsoft has done for decades, but Fromsoft isn't the only one to ever do that either. Like environmental story telling and lore dumps through item description/Beastiary is pretty damn old in games as a general rule. D&D did all of this kind of shit back in the 80's.

I think kids should be protected from ideologues and that applies to both sides of the political isle.  Child brides are some third world bullshit and they don't belong in civilized countries.  It's just a round about way to legalize pedophilia. 
 
I also am of the opinion that puberty blockers cause irreversable harm and I don't think the medical field has provided reasonable justification to use them.
