I won't lie, I couldn't find that damn shield either and ultimately looked it up. It wasn't that easy to find on my own, but once I read where it was located I was shocked I couldn't find it.

When you write them all down like that, I’m shocked at how good this year turned out. I think this is the best year of gaming for me in awhile.

y'know, this year will be remembered as something legendary, I think.... the lineup this year has been on fire---- from Hogwart's Legacy to Baldur's Gate 3, a new Diablo (despite it being a controversial pick to some), a new Super Mario, Spiderman 2, Tears of the Kingdom and for some folks Starfield (I've gone to being "on the fence" with this one; perhaps I get it for cheap one day), in addition to the new Mortal Kombat and a new Street Fighter..... and that's just the few big names that immediately popped up in my mind.

So I finished the 1st world of Mario Wonder, and I have to say that I am really digging it so far.
    I like the art style.

Tomorrow I will be testing the netcode and the lobby system with a cousin to see if the experience is not affected in some way.

I thought I’d be done with BG3 by the time Spider Man 2 came out. Yet, here I am with both. Then there’s Mario Wonder. I don’t think I’ve ever had three games I really want to play all out at once.

I finally made it to S+ in F-ZERO 99 and got to race on Mute City III. I'm guessing a lot of players were not ready for all those mines because the death toll for a Mute City course was unusually high. I was like "Imma just hang back and let you clowns take out all those mines for me." It was like watching a HD 16-bit Michael Bay movie. Ish was beautiful.

In the next race I was on the Skyway with a smoking Golden Fox player. "You're up here to stay safe, aren't you? Soon as we get off this highway, I'm putting you on Fraud Watch!" About four seconds after we were back on the ground, BOOM!

Ugh. This reminds me that I wish the remake didn't make me so motion sick. I turned on the settings to help with motion sickness, but it didn't help much. I think it's the way the characters sway when aiming. Absolutely loved the original too.

Just now got into Act 3 on Baldur's Gate 3. I've been so addicted to this game. If Spider man 2 wasn't out soon, I'd probably jump straight into another run.

I love reading how you’ve been playing out parts I’ve gone through. I wouldn’t have thought to do some of the things you’ve done. A tiefling betraying a whole group of tieflings sounds so evil. You have to post what happens!

I think the only downside to gravity kills is that you can miss out on some really good drops.

I killed the spider boss by opening with a surprise attack on the web when it was walking across. It would fall and take a good chunk of damage. Then I’d lure it to the other web paths, misty step off the web and fire on the web bridge to cause more fall damage.

BG3-- that's funny/awesome that a certain warlock power can potentially 1-shot the large phase spider boss; I saw that when looking up some info recently.... of course it's the eldritch blast; basically the knockback effect you can have for it makes it possible to simply knock the spider off into the chasm (there is a place down that pit but it's quite a long way down) for the instant kill.  Hopefully they don't tone that down, like I'd expect most game companies to do.  I already mentioned it earlier but I got past the spider boss thanks to the 3 ogres I have on standby as some hired help now.

My latest character is a tiefling... that should make the upcoming betrayal of the other tieflings that much sweeter.

At some point later I'm also interested in making a paladin character.

BG3--- (Alastor is a level 4 warlock now)

Ok, so I tried fighting the Phase Spider Matriarch again... earlier, I was successful in recruiting those 3 ogres to be some hired goons....figured this was a good time and oh yes it was.  The strange thing is... the Spider Matriarch just kinda disappeared....perhaps it ran off in fear?!  There was so much going on I don't even recall when it happened...just after a while it wasn't there anymore, and I don't think any of my crew knocked her off the side into the chasm.  Anyway, that made for a surprisingly easy battle then since she disappeared....so the dark amethyst is mine now, and oh yeah... I already have the necromancy book with me.

At first I tried my cheap method of using the Imp to scout around while invisible, taking cheapshots at the regular spiders to get them out of the way... this doesn't work though since they can heal themselves.

At first the Ogre Squad goons were in it for flesh of the victims as payment... I managed to roll a 20 in that persuasion moment of the conversation with them earlier.  They agreed to be of use again after this (Astarian was the one speaking with them this time, instead of my main character Alastor)....for coin this time; 500 gold was alright since I've stacked quite a bit at this point.

edit---ok yeah... that's what happened then... I jumped down the pit to the "Underdark" and that's where the body of the big Matriarch spider was, so at some point in the chaos the ogres must've knocked her off the side.

*ohhh I have so many character ideas to make though...  Warlock is definitely my main jam, oh yeah... if I ever play an actual tabletop D&D session with some folks that's absolutely the gameplan; warlock all day every damn day, man.

Yeah, I played and beat it. I did all of the side quests and hunts too. I initially really enjoyed the gameplay. It was fun to get a new set of abilities every so often. However by probably just past the mid point I started to feel it get stale. I ended up having the same routine for everything. I’d more or less use the exact same attack sequence since it seemed the most effective. Obviously you don’t have to do this but it’s how the game turned out for me.

Towards the end I was mainly playing to see the story of the side quest npcs and main quest play out. If you don’t care about the story, I don’t think the combat by itself is enough to carry the game. There are better action games out there.

I'd like to pour one out for Jim. Jim was a player piloting the Fire Stingray in F-ZERO 99. He just entered the final lap and was in the pit area to heal up his smoking machine. And then I came in and KO'd him like a MF boss.

If you ever wondered if it is possible to get taken out on the pit lane, the answer is a resounding YEP.

Really not surprised considering the price listed by dealers. It’s unfortunate since I bet at msrp, the car would’ve likely sold much better. Now Nissan may not make another since this one didn’t sell.

    Edit:
Just double checked the local listings. There’s a Z for sale with an msrp of 53k that the dealer is trying to sell at 88k.
