I finished watching all of the Rambo films over the last five days.
I had never seen them before.

    My ratings:

    First Blood - 8.5/10
    Rambo:  FB2 -  7.5/10
    Rambo 3  - 6.5/10
    Rambo (2008)  - 8/10
    Rambo: Last Blood - 6/10

    Impressions:

The breakdown scene at the end of the First Blood is one of Stallone's best performances alongside the first Rocky/Creed films.

The sheriff in the first movie should have gotten a little more character background. Apparently, in the First Blood novel, he was a Korean war vet and has resentment because he feels Vietnam vets and WW2 vets go the lions share of attention and not those of his war.

I was surprised that the Viet girl in 2 dies right after they kiss.

It was cool that 3 had him go after Col Trautman, but the final battle was bit too cartoonish.
Also, it really feels like pro-Afghanistan film. There's a dedication to "the people of Afghanistan" as the credits roll.
I guess they were trying to show the costs of war among a foreign country's citizens, but part of me was wondering if they wanted to appeal to conservatives and dunk on Soviets at the same time.

These films sure are lean. 80-97 minute runtimes without credits.

4 and 5 sure ratchet up the violence. for 4, it adds to the terrifying vibe of the Burmese soldiers and the hopelessness.
5 feels like an audition for Rambo to be featured as DLC in Mortal Kombat 11 - The 2 main villains are taken out in true FATALITY style.
It took me out of the film a bit- 1-3 had R ratings but never went that far.
Million, you would probably love 4 and 5 especially.
The last 30 minutes of 5 feels like it could be called "Home Stallone"

My issues with 5 are that it feels a bit too modern in terms of lighting. The neon lights and how it is shot makes it look a bit too glossy.
The plot feels like a Taken type of film. The military elements seem downplayed. I do like that he set up his own Viet Cong style tunnels on his own property though.
Learn what worked against you and use it on another enemy.

I would have liked the last film to be more drama and maybe downplay the action a bit. Also, maybe have mostly American" villains or something that couldn't just be physically beaten.

I really liked this song at the end of First Blood.

To my surprise (not really) I was pulled into a now 9 hour shift because some of our leaders (my peers) called out of work today. I don't mind working holidays or OT if I am given a heads up...but I really wanted to work on my nex video! 😭 Only plus side is Disney management does provide good spreads for us on Turkey day.

It's a combination of that and other unknowns that would make me give them a no thank you before they'd even get the offer out of their mouths to me.  I gotta worry about preparation from people I don't know from Adam on top of food being in a subway in NYC surrounded by other people I don't know from Adam.  There's way too many unknowns in this on top of being in of being in a known unsanitary area.

Yeah hearts are absolutely in the right place and it made me proud of my city. But I'm not eating just anyone's food. Hell nah. After going to a relatives Thanksgiving dinner. Only for many of us to get sick due to cross contamination of meats. Nah I'm very selective

If he actually needs 2B to make the movie break even, that means the movie cost at least 1B to make. Even with the crazy film budgets of today, no studio is signing off on that. So, he was most likely talking domestic, IF he was being real at all.

If I remember correctly, a factor of Avatar's success was being a 3D feature when it was a big deal in the theaters. The sequel should of came out years ago. There isn't a lot of competition for movies next month so it might stick around long enough to make some money.
