Yeah she was the best design out of all the ones I saw for SFV, shame they excluded her.

Ed got a big upgrade with this game. Makes me wonder how Capcom would've handled Falke if she were in SF6, probably a lot different too

Decapre definitely had an amazing evolution since SF4, she was so broken in that game.

Juri was an exception literally the only non-SF2 char to return, male or female

One could argue Luke too, but Capcom said bunch of times to consider Luke a SF6 char who did a cameo in SFV, rather than a SFVer returning in 6

 

Would not use presence in SF6 base cast as absolute popularity meter, otherwise Honda is more popular than any SF3 or SFA character... when if i remember correctly there was lot whining when let's say Honda, Blanka and Sim were confirmed in

The good/forgettable ratio is'nt bad, not much different from male ones in terms of actual quality, and probably better if we speak about simple popularity

 

 

Yes they've made plenty of good females since SF3, but only Juri seems to have had any staying power

I have my issues with the roster, wish it were more balanced with more returning characters from other games. 

I do hope they eventually add Menat otherwise it seems like every other new female character they've created since SF3 has been a flop except for Juri.

I hope they share all the designs AKI went through

We already know that this is the girl  known as “Phantom” from the side story featured for FANG in SF5. This is referenced in the kanji characters in this artwork (阿鬼-Ghost this is pronounced A-ki)

 

Her motif being based on a snake was also explained in the side story. The serpent dagger was  the gift that FANG offered her. 

 

AKI’s chained spiked tendrils are something that was intended for FANG according to his concept art.

When I read Phantom's story she didnt strike me as such.
