I actually feel like we'll get some kind of Akuma tease at Capcom Cup. Probably nothing big. Then again Capcom has been pretty unpredictable with the dlc characters so far

I got Thronefall, Palworld, First Cut: Samurai Duel, Super Ledgehop: Double Laser, Gut 'n Grunts, Go Mech Ball, Rin, Yggdrasil, Howl, Into the Necrovale and Mr. Shifty since January. 
 
Lot of those were 10 dollars or less and/or on sale.

I want P3R really badly, but I want FF7Rebirth more so my wallet must remain tightly shut. Cool as P3R looks I own that game 3 times over already so it can wait a little. 

Been playing FF15 still but I still need to beat FF7R Intergrade before rebirth comes out at the end of the month.

I'm playing Tekken 8 and Baldur's Gate 3 is the only game from the Christmas steam sale I got around to playing. I'm holding off on Granblue Re:link and Persona 3 for FF7 Rebirth. Everything will get dropped for Dragons Dogma 2 in March

If I was a more charitable person I could steelman Chris’s logic. However fuck him he mains Ken. I don’t wanna see the top 5 characters gutted to such a degree that they become unworkable but you can’t in good faith get annoyed that people want Kim to be top tier in a game where JP can just do whatever he wants and the people will say he’s balanced because you can throw him 8 times. Capcom Cup looks like a fucking snooze fest because it’s literally all fucking Lukes AGAIN!!!! I get why people main Luke and with 1 billion Bison bucks on the the line why settle for dog shit like Lily. But holy hell Luke/Ken getting a little tap on the shoulder shouldn’t spell the doom of ground based footsies just because Manon or AKI might get brought up. That being said if Jamie becomes top tier next season I’m uninstalling for Tekaiichi 4.

Yeah that is why it got stale to me.  I played King and Paul and I could basically play them the same way in every iteration of Tekken I played.
 
I also don't like the huge move lists.

I love SF6 but every fucking match is a fucking Ryu. Holy shit people have such a dog shit taste in fighters. Like god damn play fucking anyone else holy fucking shit please. I literally encounter 1 Sim every 250 matches and I’m actually not even kidding when I say that. I’m also contemplating if I should get Granblue first or T8. I’ve settled on maining Zafina because she looks like a Soul Calibur character with the claw hand and I miss Soul Calibur. The next few months are so front loaded with games. I’m playing the new Prince of Persia game and it’s incredible but now Person 3 is coming out and Relink and I still gotta finish Crises Core and I haven’t even touched any new fighting game and fucking Rebirth….

I tried out Chun-Li finally and it’s weird. On paper this character has everything I’d want (fun/unique combos, fireball, DP, long buttons), but actually using her idk she just doesn’t make it for me. Just doesn’t have that *it* factor for me.
 
Guess I’ll just wait to see with Manon in S2.

The top 8 of Frosty Faustings was incredible.  There was a decent variety of characters and just a lot of very close matches that were highly entertaining.

Just a reminder there's the Topanga Charity Cup for SF6 taking place right now with over 600 teams of 5 entering the competition, they're gathering the donations for and raising awareness about the relief efforts towards fixing the damages caused by the earthquake that took place in Japan recently 

Honestly I'm just happy Cammy, Rashid and Guile aren't S tier in this game. I'm happy they're good but not *that* good since we saw so much of them in SFV. In fact Cammy is one of my favorite characters to watch in SF6 and that absolutely wasn't the case in V.
 
With that said jeah we got waaaaaaaay too much Luke this time around. At least Ken can do a bunch of cool things but Luke (especially in SF6) is so dry imo 

Funny thing is that I don’t really see asking for those characters to be top tier, just for their glaring flaws to be fixed. The meta isn’t gonna be broken by Gief getting a functional level 1 super lol. 
 
Answering the original question, I think Jamie or Kimberly are the biggest contenders for “most likely to be over buffed”.
 
Edit: I agree with twin lol. I don’t think he’s secret top tier or anything but I definitely do not think he’s as bad as ppl are trying to say he is. Just having a DP, cancelable low, and usable drive rush puts him above the actually bad characters
