The low key secret is that Alex was never as bad as everyone said.  Yeah, he was in the bottom third, but there were a whole bunch of characters that were basically just as bad.

Oh I agree, he was a meme that people ran with, he's played the meta of this game from jump. However the top tier dominated him but even then it wasn't like he couldn't get a W... just inconsistent with it.

  2. Sf5 is largely going to be the same for a while I think.

I do think the tiers have shifted around a bit though, like RIP kolin, and akuma now might just be A tier.

But Urien, G, cammy and zeku  all still got the sauce.

Everything under them is going to be moving all around for a bit, ryu is def A tier at worse now, and alex is also a problem lowkey.

  3. GG strive beta

Game has a ton of potential.

It's pretty fun, depending on the launch changes we'll see how much I play.

Right now there's a lot of degenerate gameplay because the damage is so high universally.

If they went through and just changed the damage for each character based on what they can do the game would be super awesome.

    As of right now,

Pot damage down  on command throw significantly

    Milla damage down very slightly

    Ram damage down slightly

    May damage down slightly

    Leo damage down slightly

    Zato damage down slightly

Sol  damage down on command throw significantly.

    Ky damage down on install

    Gio no damage change

    Faust no damage change

    Chipp no damage change

    Nago no damage change

    Axel no damage change

Ono didn't get fired you turd.

He retired some time after having a non disclosed health issue that warranted him to leave the company for 6 months and then being transferred laterally to a new division.

One year after SFV released and He didn't have any power over SFV, with all the decisions being made by the MonHun guy since he took over the FG division.

Not going back and forth with someone that doesn't read nor understand.

    You got it boss

  5. 4 minutes ago, Hecatom said:

Man, you have to be truly stupid to think that Ono.

A mid tier manager on a fucking corporation has the pull to decide what we get and what not.

If that was true, Ono wouldn't had needed to fight for years to get SFIV greenlit.

SFV would have been fully financed by Capcom, instead of being a game money hated by Sony.

DarkStalkers would have been a reality by now.

Instead of believing stupid rumors like a gullible idiot do a little research.

Just watching at the fucking credits of the game would already debunk a lot of the shit you are posting.

Just by your logic, SFV would have been already moved out of whatever cluster fuck you think Ono did, when he was no longer the producer on it after SFV released, since he was shifted laterally to a different division within capcom.

Yet is until the probable last year of the game we are seeing Capcom stirring the pot with some crazy mechanics, as if SFV being in its last legs motivates them to go crazy, much like SFIV did with Ultra, a game which Ono actually produced and went full crazy on its last year with the mechanical additions.

Yet, i don't see your stupid ass saying it was Ono holding them back, LMAO, GTFO with that stupid shit.

    OK guy whatever you say

  6. 11 minutes ago, Hecatom said:

And why do you assume that it was Ono holding them back?

Do you still believe on the stupid rumors about his parting?

    LMAO.

    SFV is designed by committee.

Ono power on the game didn't go beyond management and ensuring that the people working on the game did their part.

Woshige, the battle director, is more responsible on how the game plays that Ono ever did, you doofus, and he still has to comply to whatever the committee decides.

He doesn't have cart blanc to do whatever he pleases.

I don't know of any rumor like that, all I know is Ono left or got fired and things have been better since around that exact time.

My company recently went through the same thing,  1 VP left and things changed up significantly as soon as they left, relationships, how people expressed themselves and the work. This VP wasn't an engineer or designers but had the power to influence his  PM's to make sure they told there works to make sure things were delivered a certain way because that how  he wanted it or felt it was best.

No one is saying Ono was  getting sets in with Woshige saying nerf or buff this.:coffee:

  7. There are things that Mangers, PM's, even bosses and supervisors don't know how to do, fix or handle when it comes down to the details... However when it's time for a project to be completed and they look over whatever needs to be looked over before submitting, if they see something they don't like or don't think fits a vision, guess what... they send it back and ask for revisions.

9 times out of 10 that's what Ono did... He was in a position of authority, he has a history with fighting games and he literally reignited the fighting game boom with SF4.

So yes he has a heavy pull and say in what the public gets as a final project. No one is going to spend hours working on things to get told it needs to be revised, eventually you just give your boss what they want even if you know they clients are craving something different.

It's nuts that people believe Ono had any input at all, let alone on gameplay things.

Also, has people just forgot that Woshige has been battle director since release?

    What?

You think Ono didn't have final say in what was in the game overall?

One look at V shift and Ono would probably waved it off as "to difficult for new players"

There is a level of simplistically that has ran from season 1 up until now outside a very small  handful of characters.

Ono clearly wasn't in the office saying "this needs to be +5 and have an extended hit box" but if he couldn't play it and execute a move properly or consistently it probably was on the list to be "looked at"

  9. Vshift is super interesting...

It's nuts how much Ono must have been holding these guys back. You can tell from rose and Dan that the cuffs are off, Dan who is traditionally kind of bland and simple probably has one of the more technical V systems to work with as of now... followed by rose.

Vshift  is basically a neat take on a parry, but one that cost meter.

Has to be done in neutral, and can be cancelled into a follow up or move the shift attack, and if done with "parry" timing aka timed against an attack you get a 3rd of your bar back meaning you won't be V shifting into V trigger into stupid stuff, but also if used correctly you should be able to get more than a few a round and also pop trigger.

It also kind of makes buffering normal's into specials in neutral a bit more risky at high levels if people have a read on it. walking around mashing cr mk and buffering spiraling arrow can now be unsafe if a person has v gauge.

It's actually really well though out.

The ONLY and I mean only big down side I can see to this is  when characters start getting OS's on attack or defense. Hopefully it's implemented in a away that the OS's are zero to very limited.

I guess one more downside I can see is the game getting really slow,  delay buttons could be really bad depending on certain character punishes with vshift.  Which means defense might be TOO good with this change...

It's a odd thing to say seeing how unga offense can be in this game, but delay throw tech and buttons already make people have shimmy which in turn makes me have to take the throw... so now you have other option makes it a bit harder for offense while also slowing down the biggest burst of offense the trigger activation.

    I guess we see.

V shift is more of neutral defense tool to me, I think under pressure after knock downs and things  V reversal and things are probably still going to be the go to, unless you have a read on your opponent.

Also did they show someone doing V shift from a jump in?  That could be super good for characters that's taller, and or with dp's for more time to react.

  10. Man this is what the game needs!

    Looks great

    Rose def looks unfinished.

Dan, wow he looks great... and actually technical.

V shift is gonna make the game super defensive unless they are  cranking up offense to 10. Which I'm assuming is happening, other wise grapplers just got wayyy worse as well as pressure.

Guessing the follow up attack to V shift is going to be negative on block otherwise it's already busted.

Don't know what changed at capcom (Ono)  but man great stream and great changes so far.

    This is what I expect....

    But what I hope...

The way they phrase it it makes me half expect to see Rose released as well. But it's just gonna be a tease.

yeah, I actually think they might, which they kind of should seeing as  they have two coming out in summer also.

Do Dan and  Rose, which gives them time to work on whatever then need with akira and Oro up until Sept  at the very latest , then in fall "assuming late dec" do the mystery person

When was the last time we got one character release? Kage? And boy was that whack.... 1 character releases are only ok if it's some what regular like every 2 months or so.... when you start going 3 months or more.... 1 character releases are just annoying.
