Between NBA and hockey playoffs, I've been lacking on the sf6 progress as well haha.

For me, playing on wifi even if it's "good" weighs heavy on my conscience while playing only because I know those hiccups or missed techs or whatever happen more frequently. I get mentally flashbanged by wifi connections lol

NHL season ended for me after the Caps got swept lol.

It's crazy to me how in Master ranks people are playing on wifi. It's very clear that they care about getting better at the game and I'm almost certain they have heard the wired vs wifi speech before.

    Some people choose chaos.

Some wifi can be perfectly fine.  But I know when I do accept a wifi match in casual after not finding a ranked one, like 75% of the time there is a huge hiccup somewhere in the first match and that right there just ruins it for me.  I'll finish out the match then just leave.  And that definitely happens more than not when I accept wifi.  And I'm on 4-5 bar matches too.

I simply will not accept wifi in ranked though.  I will only do wired.

I don't know about master in ranked yet though, just a diamond 5.  I need to just play it more to get into master.  The NBA playoffs have been taking up a lot of my SF6 time the past few weeks too.

About Akuma: it seems he doesn't have a grab option out of Demon Flip anymore, because all his options during that move were listed in the Playstation blog and no grab was ever mentioned, but it seems he might be getting a command grab off his teleport.

Because Akuma really needed a command grab, just to shit on grapplers more in a game where all the good command grabs are on characters who aren't grapplers.

Empty Demon Flip into throw is going to be a total mind fuck though.  I'm guessing the empty jump is why they removed his throw from it.

In the PlayStation blog, they call his Raging Demon a second level 3 that he can do in CA health. It makes it sound like he will have the CA version of his regular Level 3 and the option to use the demon as well.

Yah I saw that wording but they didn't clarify.

It would also be odd the RD isn't the classic inputs, an it means that it would have to combo like his normal level 3 too.

Open World Racers are fun, but I do kinda miss specifically designed tracks in arcade Racers. We mostly get those in Sim Racers and I find those pretty boring myself.

If they closed off non-paths on open world while you are actually racing then that would be fine.  But I just remember in Burnout Paradise that I'd be looking at the damn small ass map in the corner like 25% of the race and it just made it not very fun.  Same with the Horizon games I played if I remember correctly.

And I played THE SHIT out of Burnout Paradise and got 101% in that game, and finished Horizon 100% as well.

As much as I loved Burnout Paradise, my favorite one is Burnout Revenge.

    LMAO.
What HD remake are you talking about?
There is no remake of MW.
MW2013 is a different game in everything, they only share the name.

Stop getting your panties in a bunch.  I know it's not a 1:1 HD remake but it took the premise of the OG one and made the same concept style of game.

And it sucked compared to the original one.

What we really need (and I know we aren't going to get it) is a new Burnout game that is not open world.  I'd be happy never getting another open world racing game again.

Damn, you made me realize  my mistake. NFS: Most Wanted (2005) was one of my favorite games. NFS: Most Wanted 2012 was a completely different game. It was good, but it didn't hit me the same was the 2005 game did.

Agreed.  I played the shit out of it.  It was definitely better than the HD remake.

  8. I finished Fallout (the show) tonight and thought it was awesome.  I am not a fan of the games and don't like anything Bethesda makes.  I am just not into those kind of first person action RPG games at all.  So I don't know anything about the game world or anything like that.

But I thought the show was great and can't wait for season 2.  The way it ended just made me want to watch more and they definitely left a great story to be told in the next season.  They also left some things unanswered which is fine too so they can give answers in the next season, unless I missed some stuff.

I had read that some people said it got a little slow/down around episode 6 and I agreed but after finishing the final episode, the direction it went in those episodes made total sense why they did that.  In general, I just am not a fan in shows where they ...

    Spoiler

spend so much damn time in flashbacks.  I want to know what is going on in the current story and don't care about the past.  However, the way everything tied in with the flashback stuff into the final episode, I was okay with it after the fact.

All in all, a fantastic show IMO.

  9. You all talking bout SF3 versions and made me flip on my cabinet.  I just snapped a video of you.  I suck at 3s but I don't really "feel" any delay.

I can say though playing with a stick, especially a Happ stick, after being on leverless for like 6 months now, feels so damn weird.

But I don't think it gets much better than playing fighting games like this, at least not for someone who grew up in the arcade in the 90's.

Weird, I dont see any ugly people in either of these photos. I see a model all trussed up with makeup and perfect lighting, and then I see a character very clearly based on her but not under absolutly perfect super model conditions.

    Where is the ugly person?

    It's the bangs.

Bangs on chicks just don't look good on most of em.  Only a very select few can pull it off.

Unpopular opinion but 6 isn't doing much better visually. I generally like the overall presentation, sound effects, the graffiti splashes when drive impact hits, and how the cutscenes transform the game during level 3/criticals, and obviously the character models have an insane amount of detail

But then you look at the matches or even still screenshots and it's like a late PS3 game - poor shadowing, bland color gamut on most stages, weird lighting solution where you have both the stage sources and like a spotlight above which makes characters shiny, it's so strange to me

I'm not gonna let go of the theory that releasing SF6 on PS4 caused Capcom to hold back significantly so that console can maintain 60fps - the demo alone was really rough with very visible jaggies and blurriness

I predict in a few years there will be a major re-release that cuts off PS4 support, because I just don't see them sticking with it until like 2029 or whenever the next street fighter is supposed to launch. I'm assuming at least 5 years of support for 6

I don't think I could possibly disagree with you more.  I think everything about it looks fantastic, aside from some of the UX stuff with like the menus and where certain options are located.  But that is more nitpicky.

Go look at the Digital Foundry comparison video of all the different versions of SF6.  The PS4 (and XSX) version of the game look a lot different than the current gen ones.  I play on PS5 at 1080p on a 10 foot screen and don't notice any jaggies or blurriness.  It looks fantastic.

My only gripe about the visuals of SF6 would be that some characters blend into the backgrounds a bit too much.  I have the stage that is kinda like Gief's stage in prior games out of the list of stages I play on because I don't like how red it is and some characters just blend in to the background a bit.  I have also noticed it on some other stages with very specific character outfits but I can't think of it off the top of my head.  I know it was an Aki color but can't remember which one or which stage.

All the characters look like clay putty and the UI looks like stock assets. The game should have came out with that cell shading filter tho. Still looks very cool for a fighting game to have that.

Stock assets is a great description and you are so right.   Like "hey lets put some UI stuff here and we'll change it later" but they never went back and changed anything.

I can't believe how bad SF5 has aged.  It just looks so bad and like it is in a beta form in all aspects - graphics, sounds, UI, etc.

I remember when they first showed it off with that Ryu battle (at Evo I think)  and thinking how awesome it looked.  And then from the time the actual beta came out and how bad that was handled, it just went downhill.

  14. This is random AF...

I was talking to my buddy just now about Ermac in the new MK1 and he wasn't aware of the origin of the actual character and the hoax from the original MK1 arcade game.

So I did some digging and found the screen shot of where Ermac originated.

This is from issue 51 of EGM back in the day.   It was a little side column that was in the issue back from 1993.

So if you didn't know the origin story of Ermac, this is where it all came from.

    EDIT:

There are some more cool rumors about MK here:

    https://tabmok99.mortalkombatonline.com/rumored_characters.html

There are some letters in regards to readers writing in about Ermac as well on there, on how to unlock and also call it a hoax.
