The movie tanked for multiple reasons, which imo have way more weight than the "controversy".
Cuz lets be honest, the people who don't care about that didn't go to watch it either.

Okay, I get that you have a hate boner for RobTV. However the outlook on music he has is a US thing. Because we have to categorize everything by race in country. "Sounding white" and "sounding black" isn't just black thing. I know from personal experience on that front. Being the black kid that makes good grades and uses proper English gets you ostracized by everyone. It's the part of the reason I got into "geeky/nerdy" things. No one gave a damn what you looked like. They were just happy find someone else that was into what they were instead of giving them grief over it. AOL was a trip, everyone assumed I was white by the way I typed.
